Savannah Oaks Campground is located about 2 miles west of I-95, exit 94, on Fort Argyle Road. It’s a small campground (about 24 acres) with large oak trees draped with Spanish moss on the Ogeechee River and located only about 20 minutes from historic Savannah.
The campground has shady pull through full hook up sites with free cable. 30 and 50 amp service is available. Amenities include a laundromat, bath houses (heated and air conditioned), a boat ramp, great river for canoeing and fishing, a swimming pool, a cute little convenience Store, a playground, and Free WIFI throughout campground
Each camper is escorted to their site. The campground has 24 hour security gates with codes for your convenience to come and go anytime. The park is located close to shopping malls, hospitals, restaurants, and only 20 minutes away from downtown Historic Savannah.
With it’s proximity to I-95 and Savannah, this campground makes for a good overnight stopover, or a base for exploring Savannah and the surrounding area.
We stayed for a week. It was a nice park. Yes, the sites are kinda close but we did fine as people came and went frequently. With this park close to Savannah, it was a quick drive without being in town. We enjoyed the squirrels, they were so funnny.
I would not consider this an RV Resort by any stretch of the imagination. Pull thru sites are so close together that sewer hookup for the camper next to me was less than 6 feet from my entrance door. The restrooms were dirty. River? Ha Ha! All I saw was mud where a river might be during the rainy season. It’s Ok for a one night stop over because it is close to I-95
Your very ignorant huh?
I have enjoyed staying at this campground several times. The staff is always freindly and acommadating. The security is always maintained and the store is very well stocked.
They have no cell service, only got 4 cable channels. This campground is ok for one night. Sites not to level.
Have stayed at Savannah Oaks while in route to Fort Wilderness, and stayed on the way back to eastern Kentucky on the way home. We liked our stay there and will stay there again if we can get in. We also like Tybee Island if staying for a few days close to Savannah, but you have got to drive thru Savannah streets to get there. Not bad for us but it may seem close for some folks. We just like being close to the beach.
