Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Ft. McAllister State Park campground is located about 10 miles east of I-95 and south of Savannah on the banks of the Ogeechee River.

The campground has very good dirt roads and large shady campsites among giant live oaks, Spanish moss and salt marsh. The campground is bordered by tidal Redbird Creek, a boat ramp, a fishing dock and a nature trail.

Sites have water and electricity. There is also a dump station. They have good showers. There is a large picnic area with river views and playgrounds, while another boat ramp provides access to the Ogeechee River.

There is also a very interesting restored fort. Visitors can explore the grounds with cannons, a furnace, bombproof barracks, palisades and more, while a Civil War museum contains artifacts, a video and gift shop.
