From what I’ve seen, Boardwalk RV Resort is primarily permanent residents and seasonals, with no regard to age or condition of the unit. Some were in very bad shape and many sites were just “junky.”
The temporary sites all backed on to a road that had a constant stream of traffic 24 hours a day, and it sounded like a speed track with the loud revving engines and speed freaks – we got very little sleep in our four nights there.
The pool is small and old, with signs warning you not to swallow the water! And the pool hours – brochure at check in said open until 10:00 p.m., somewhere else said open until dusk, but a paper taped to the pool gate said it closes at 4:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. on Sunday), which is ridiculous. Fortunately, no-one paid attention and the pool was active well after 4:00 p.m.
There is literally NOWHERE to walk a dog as it will be doing its business on someone else’s site, and no trash cans anywhere to put doggy bags into. The dumpster was in the back corner of the property. The office/store was locked tight and the woman checking us in through a side window shrugged her shoulders when I asked for information on what there was to see or do in the area.
The only positive about this campground is that the location is good in terms of being within an hour of the Everglades and the Keys. Oh, and the sites – they are extremely tight, and the road is narrow so it takes a lot of fancy maneuvering to back into the sites, and you can actually hear conversations inside the trailer next to you! Our fifth wheel is 33 feet, and we could not imagine getting anything any longer into one of those sites.
I absolutely do not recommend this place – my neighbors pulled out early and forfeited their money to move to a different campground.
