Sleepy Bears RV Park – Lumberton, NC

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

If you’re traveling I-95, Sleepy Bears is conveniently located off exit 14, just south of Lumberton, North Carolina. We camped there several weeks ago on our way south to Florida.

The park was clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly. Sites are level, paved and comfortably sized. There seems to be a little road noise from the Interstate, but it’s not excessive. After an hour or two we didn’t even notice it.

Full hook-ups and pull-thru are available. All your typical amenities are here… pool, laundry, playground, pavilion, game room and adult lounge. There is a nice little campstore with a limited supply of groceries and camping supplies.

I would rate Sleepy Bears above average. If you’re headed down I-95, and it’s about that time, this is an acceptable overnighter.

International RV Park – Daytona Beach, FL

This is a relatively new campground catering to families and race fans. There’s a great group of people running the park… they are friendly and eager to please. The property is close to all the action but surprisingly quiet and peaceful.

Interior roads at this campground are paved and the sites are level. Some of the sites have concrete pads. Most sites are sunny with a few small trees that afford little shade.

Happy Days RV Park – Zephyrhills, FL

We arrived at Happy Days and the woman in the office gave us a list of open sites. She said there was one more 119 but it is reserved for a certain date and we would be gone by then. She told us to go look at the sites and come back. We did and took the 119.

We pulled up by the office a blonde woman was standing there and said that is not acceptable. Evidentally you weren’t supposed to drive through to look at the site. I told her to tell it to the woman in the office. She said what site did you want I said 119. She said you can’t have it. Again I said you better talk to the woman in the office. Well after she settled down we did get the site.

The back roads were narrow. Don’t know how a fire truck would get through in case of a fire. We got to the site and there were 2 golf carts there. I guess we were supposed to wait for them to escort us in but we weren’t told that.

My husband said to get out of the car to watch I don’t hit something. I did. One man said get back in the car. I said NO my husband told me to get out and there is no way I’m getting back in. He stood there did nothing. My husband was backing in on a blind side and got a little crooked. Man by the septic connection passed a comment why is he having a problem parking a little thing like that.

End of story. We will never go back. We didn’t feel they were friendly at all.

Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing – Bayard, NE

Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing - Bayard, NEChimney Rock Pioneer Crossing is a relatively new campground located on the road to Chimney Rock (Highway 92 & County Road 75) about three miles south of Bayard.

The park is in a rural setting with breathtaking views of Chimney rock, a famous landmark on the historic Oregon Trail.

Southwick Beach State Park – Henderson, NY

Southwick Beach State Park - Henderson, New YorkSouthwick Beach State Park is a very well kept campground but it has a major flaw, high iron water that smells and tastes terrible. Be sure to bring your own no matter what they tell you. Do not use their water to refill your system, it’s dark and coppery.

We stayed last September and left early. State refunds are a hassle. I suggest that you pay for one night to judge for yourself.

North Beach Campground – Burlington, VT

North Beach Campground - Burlington, VermontNorth Beach Campground is owned and operated by the City of Burlington, Vermont and located on the shores of Lake Champlain.

We stayed here for a week last summer. We chose North Beach Campground because of it’s location and the fact that the area has a rather extensive bicycle trail system that allowed us to ped to the Burlington waterfront and the downtown area. (which is absolutely beautiful and alive with activity in the summer).

Cactus RV Park, Tucumcari, NM

Cactus RV Park, Tucumcari, NMWe found Cactus RV Park in Passport America. We were pleasantly surprised since it was rated a 3-Stars in Woodall’s. It’s certainly not the fanciest, but very clean and the campsite is pretty spacious.

I noticed that the other campers were all new, large units, so we felt we were among good company. New Mexico has few and far between campgrounds so this hit the spot.

Holly Acres RV Park – Egg Harbor City, NJ

Holly Acres was a pleasant surprise once we arrived. The staff was very friendly and eager to answer our questions. The Campground was well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Our pull-thru site was comfortably large and level. There were a significant number of seasonal campers here but, for the most part their sites were neat and well maintained. Seasonal sites were also kept in one area, which was nice.

Holly Acres is nestled on 40-acres in Southern New Jersey, and offers a peaceful camping experience, while still being close to area attractions, such as the casinos, beaches, and shopping. It’s only about 20 minutes from Atlantic City.

A quaint park where you can ride your bicycle, relax at the pool, or sit by the pond and watch the ducks swim by. Enjoy a old-fashioned campfire with your family or participate in the weekend events. The Nick-A-Demus News is available every Friday at the office listing the weekend activities, area happenings, recipes, helpful hints, and much more.

Woodalls, Wheelers and Trailer Life give this park very good ratings too! We love it and plan on returning once more before summer ends!

Charlestown State Park – Charlestown, IN

0

Charlestown State Park - Charlestown, INWe have been camping at Charlestown State Park since 1998, when it opened. The hook-ups at the sites near the front of the park are electric only, but they are quite large compared to other campgrounds… you could easy put three campsites in one site here.

Because the campground is relatively new, landscaping and trees are still very small so there is little shade. The sites toward the bach side of the property are newer and full hook-up. It’s also a lot shadier there. These sites are also quite large, and there is a lot of natural shrubs and bushes between sites so you don’t have a lot of open area for an extra tent or screen house like you do at the older sites.

Mill Creek Campground & RV Park – Paxico, KS

0

Mill Creek Campground & RV Park - Paxico, KansasMill Creek Campground is a small (less than 50 sites) but very nice park with large, level sites and plenty of room. Big rigs are no problem… you can get around the park easily and they have good size pull-thrus.

Mill Creek very clean and well maintained. The campgound is within walking distance of Paxico, a small town that has 7 or 8 antique shops and a little cafe.
