Turkey Creek RV Park – Warsaw, MO

Turkey Creek RV Park is a great little RV park with nice spaces.

The campground is located right on the banks of the Lake of the Ozarks, and has a dock and boat slip rental. This is a great place to bring a boat or go for a swim. The campground has mostly seasonal sites, but there are some nightly sites available. The new owners are looking to expand, so there could be more any time now.

Turkey Creek RV Park is close enough to everything you would want to do in the area… but is in the quieter part of the lake, so it’s not a “party” spot.

Pelican Carefree RV Resort – Marathon, FL

We booked to stay here for 2 weeks with our 32 ft. 5th wheel.

When we pulled up at our pitch, had it had not been for the fact that we had paid our balance on arrival, we would have driven straight out again. Cutting a very long story short this site (it is not a resort) does not cater for big rigs. It took nearly one hour for me with the help of 2 real friendly guys to shoe horn our camper into the pitch. It was so bad we had to get people to move their cars, trucks, tables etc etc just so I could get in. In the end my truck was almost at 90 degrees to the camper – thank God my Crusader camper will allow that without hitting the back of the cab!

In my opinion, don’t even consider this place if you have a big rig. I’m disappointed the owners don’t ask the size of your rig when you’re making a booking – they should tell you up front that the pitches are unsuitable.

We just opened a brand new RV resort just outside Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

We are gated and all sites are full hook-up, including 50/30/20 amp, water, sewer, tv, and Wifi.

Our main building has 10 private individual restrooms, a store, a meeting room, a fitness room, and laundry room. We have a swimming pool, playground and disc golf.

We also border the National Park for hiking!

Outdoor Resorts Rancho California RV Resort is very nice park complete with a 15 hole, par 3 golf course. The campground is well landscaped and has a lovely country club setting. A lot of campers own their lots and the people are very friendly.

Rancho California RV Resort is a great place to get away from it all and feel pampered.

The park is fairly large, with over 590 sites. Interior roads are paved and the sites are comfortably large, with concrete pads and picnic tables. There are a good number of big-rig sites with full hook-ups. The staff here is friendly and they are quite accommodating. They have plenty of amenities including a golf course, 5 swimming pools, 6 lighted tennis courts, two clubhouses and several lakes with fishing and paddle boats. Also a laundromat and a small camp store with a limited number of groceries and camping supplies.

Pets are allowed here. One important note… they only allow 5th wheels and motorhomes.

OMG I loved Admiralty RV Resort and would recommend this place to everyone.

The staff were so nice and the visitors too. They have got a nice clean heated pool. My neighbor was so helpful. I didn’t get a chance to tell the staff on how kind he was, he was in space 518.

I will be going back soon.

Crossroads RV Park is a blast! I love this place.

There are so many nice people here. The activities are so much fun, the people are friendly, and the staff is really great.

The RV hooks ups are super accessible. Everything is modernized. I never want to go back home!

I would definitely recommend this place!

Lake Aire RV Park and Campground – Hollywood, SC

Lake Aire is a nice little campground… not a resort by any stretch of the imagination, but a basic, well kept, quiet, place to do some real camping.

The property and facilities were clean and well maintained. They have a variety of campsites, from full service RV pull-throughs, to tent sites. Every site has a picnic table and fire ring.

They also have a pool and private lake where you can fish (catch and release… no license required). There is also free wifi with a good signal.

Their rates are reasonable, the staff is friendly and accommodating and our stay was comfortable. We felt right at home here.

We used this campground to tour Charleston and the surrounding area. It’s close to plenty of shopping and restaurants. We would stay here again.

Mill Creek Ranch Resort – Canton, TX

We stayed at Mill Creek Ranch Resort February 2014.

We made reservations to go back February 27, 2015. Due to bad weather we cancelled our reservations on February 24, 2015. According to their website any cancellation 72 hours out would be done without penalty. However, I was informed that policy did not apply to me because I made my reservations in October 2014. Huh? I was charged one day. This is a true case of bait and switch.

There are other nice parks in the area do us all a favor and do not reward this kind of business tactics. I recommend that you stay somewhere else.

Gold Beach RV Park – Gold Beach, OR

In my opinion, Gold Beach RV Park is tiny, cramped, and trashy.

There was trash/debris (including what looks like someone’s oven) piled up outside of trash receptacle. Trash bags left on ground outside of a trailer with its own porch/deck; what looks like old/abandoned vehicles just sitting unattended. Some spaces have “white picket” fences around them. There’s laundry scattered about or flapping in the wind, which gives a bad impression. I chose to not stay any longer. Also, it is not family (kid) friendly.

Apparently, they’ll take those in old rigs (rusted, spray-can painted; all okay!), so if no other park will have your vehicle/trailer, this one probably will. Some of the folks seem very clique-y, so unless you become part of their clique, expect to be treated with disdain.

If this situation is your cup of tea, then great; otherwise, move on, as there’s plenty else out there.

Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park – Live Oak, FL

In December, 2014, I spent a weekend with a group of friends at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park.

Friday and Saturday nights were noisy with young people playing music very loud and running golf carts with gasoline engines way into the morning hours while people were trying to sleep. Technically these vehicles are not golf carts but ATVs and by the campgrounds own rules, should not be allowed. There was one individual from security who took our complaints seriously, while the rest of the staff, office staff included, seemed not to care one bit. In my opinion, the office staff and management were for the most part – rude and uncooperative.

The facilities were dirty. There was no picnic table for any of us to use. No fire pits, but I could see where previous campers had just built a fire in the grass. There were fire ants, which I called the park and asked them to address, but seeing as how nothing was done, it was fortunate I brought my own fire ant bait. They did pick up trash if you left it by the road.

Because of the general lack of concern, the only recourse available was to leave an unfavorable review.

Unfortunately, camping facilities in this area is limited, so if you plan on staying there, beware.
