Four Seasons RV Park – Gold Beach, OR

Four Seasons RV Park - Gold-Beach-Oregon | RVBuddy.com

Four Seasons RV Park is located in Gold Beach, Oregon… a wonderful spot right on the north bank of the Rogue River. The campground provides full hookups and a private dock where you can dock your boat or board the Rogue River Jet Boats.

The people who run it are tremendous. We got a personal escort to our site by the owner and his dog. There are sites right on the river and if you can get one, they are great but sites off river are fine too. Nothing like the moonlight on that river at night.

They have a laundry, showers, a grocery and bait and tackle shop (including fishing licenses). Steelhead and salmon fishing advice is free. Reservations can be made for fishing guides and jet boats at the park office. They are also Good Sam and AAA affiliated.

There’s also lots of things to do and see in Gold Beach. We would return often!

Saddle Mountain RV Park and Campground – Carmel Valley, CA

What can I say about Saddle Mountain RV Park and campground in Carmel Valley?

We’ve RV’d here numerous times and each time gets better than the last. The breathtaking valley views, the convenient location (all within striking distance: Highway 1, the beach, Aquarium, 17 Mile, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Garland State Park, restaurants, and grocery stores), pet friendly (must be on leash), hiking trails, nice clean bathrooms, hot showers, free Wi-Fi, and plenty of parking. Our 4 year old especially enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing badminton and horseshoes, exploring on her bike, and nature walks.

The only disappointments were not being able to have a fire-pit wood campfire (only propane), a very chilly “heated” pool, and no on-site laundry facility. However, the pleasant staff made-up for it by being so professional and accommodating; they referred us to local launderettes within 1.5 miles. Lastly, the one-lane bridge looks precarious- it’s safe. Just take your time crossing it and note that the left turn up the hill to the RV park will sneak-up on you. If you’re towing, it might be a good idea to unhook prior to turning onto Schulte Rd. while you’re on Carmel Valley Rd.

As world travelers and having lived in other countries, I must say this is one of our favorite places on earth. Cheers and happy travels!

New ownership as of 8/19/22 has been a disappointment. There is no clear on-site management. There is no way to contact the owner.

Rules/policies/rent/office hours changes have no advance notice and are communicated poorly, if at all. Passport America discounts were cancelled 8/19/22. Rules are not uniformly enforced. Rent jumped $100/month on 1/15/23 per letter on everyone’s door – I suspect to fund all the new improvements to make this an RV “resort” as opposed to campground.

Restrooms/shower, laundry facilities, cable and wifi are decent. There is a grassy area to park extra vehicles/boats/trailers. A new pickleball court, corn hole boards and gazebos have just been installed.

In the office building, there is a small rec room with card tables and a closet space with a broken down treadmill and elliptical. Neither work well.

There is a coded gate, but the code has only changed twice in the last 15 months and one or both arms get stuck open frequently, negating the “security”.

Nighttime street lighting is inadequate for walking after dark without flashlights and the speed bumps are tripping hazards in the dark.

The pool is pretty and kept clean. Lounge chairs and sun shading is around the pool.
There’s a nice stream running through the property and 3 tortoises in a pen by the office.
Some lots are long and asphalt; the rest are shorter and dirt/gravel. Many of them are not level. There are picnic tables, charcoal grills and fire rings at each site.

Water is from a well and pressure is low. Underground pipes break periodically so expect unannounced outages. Sewer is a septic field at the SW corner of the property and is very stinky for those sites close by.

The campground is located in a nice wooded area with the larger sites under mature trees. There is a nice half mile trail on the adjacent vacant parcel to walk yourself or your dog. There’s also a fenced dog park, about 15’ x 60’, at the NW corner of the property.

I’d recommend Cherry Blossom for a night or 2 but not long term. I’m leaving after 15 months for a place where I feel respected and valued. Daily rate is $60/night

Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow – Oxford, IA

Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow | RVBuddy.com

Beyonder Getaway at Sleepy Hollow is located right off Interstate 80, exit 230 in Oxford, Iowa

This campground was previously known as Sleepy Hollow RV Park & Campground, that has been in operation since 1970.

The staff was very nice, helpful and considerate. Most of the sites are spacious and nicely wooded with very large trees. This is a scenic campground with the lake and hilly sites, so much nicer than a wide open field.

The pool was large and well maintained. The showers were free, hot and clean but do need some updating and minor repair. There is a concrete pad with numerous picnic tables by the pool area for a group lunch. There are only benches by the pool, so if you desire to lay back and collect some sun, bring your own lawn chairs.

The camp store is well stocked and they make an awesome chocolate malt. Thank you Sleepy Hollow for a relaxing quiet week.

Boyd’s Key West Campground – Key West, FL

Boyd's Key West Campground | RVBuddy.com

Boyd’s Campground has one thing going for it… it’s the closest campground to Key West. We were a bit hesitant when we got off of US Route 1 and headed toward’s Boyd’s. The neighborhood along the way to the campground appeared to be quite depressing. But once the campground appeared it looked like a lush tropical oasis.

The interior roads were mostly well maintained gravel. The campsites were quite close together with little privacy, but this is premium property and understandable. Actually we’ve stayed in other oceanside campgrounds in the northeast that were just as crowded. They do have quite a few additional charges for amenities. Amenities include 50 amp and 30 amp hookups, a heated swimming pool, a lounging beach, 24 hour security, Free WiFi, a marina, a gift and convenience store and 4 bathhouses. The campground is reasonably well maintained.

They are located right on the water… and they charge to put a boat in the water… they charge for your trailer… and they charge dock rental. Rates are quite high… over $100 a night for a full hookup but again, this is prime camping real estate.

Wilderness Lakes RV Resort – Mathis, TX

Wilderness Lakes RV Resort is nestled into a truly beautiful environment. With the lakes and trees all around, you truly feel like you are in a natural oasis. We had a really large, level, pull-through site with 50-amp full hook-ups, so it was a truly luxurious, “wilderness” experience!

We met lots of wonderful people while we were here. The park has a very active community and there were loads of things to do. We enjoyed a great breakfast, played some games, and watched a great musical performance!

This was our first time in this part of Texas. And we were truly surprised by how wonderful our stay was here. We’d definitely come back.

If u want wifi, laundromat n trees … they dont have any. No shade when it is 108 out. If u want clean bathrooms – bring your own bec they dont have bathrooms either.

Dont drink the water bec it is high in lead and sodium n fertilizers. We tested it every week. If they have a leak they dont warn you to fill ur own tanks so you could be 3 days without cooking, hand washing and showers.

They scraped up all the grass so the entire park is stone and dirt. They spray lots of Roundup to kill the unrelenting pricker growths!

They DO have lots of beautiful birds and some pretty flowers. They DO have really long sites to fit any rv but so narrow u have no yard. Thats ok bec there are no picnic tables either. There is NOTHING outside to do anyway. And you are over an hour to San Antone and 7 miles from the town line of Kenedy. It is a great place to park to go to work. Come home, sleep, and go back to work. New managers. Not friendly but they ARE polite.

Askew’s Landing RV Campground – Edwards, MS

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Askew’s Landing RV Campground is a beautiful secluded rv park located in the rolling hills of Mississippi. Is located east of Jackson, MS just off of Interstate 20 on Askew’s Ferry Road (turn left) about 4 miles from Edwards, Mississippi and is reasonably priced.

This campground is part of a Civil War plantation owned by the Askew Family. You can still see the old dirt road that was build by the plantation workers. It is part of a Civil War battlefield as well. It is well maintained, has large pull thru campsites, two bathhouses, a swimming pool, playground and activity barn. It has a fishing lake but photographers will find a wealth of nature photo-ops.

The campground has lots of tall pines and other shade trees. The sites are very clean. Check-in and out was a breeze. We have stayed at this campground 3 times on our way to other destinations, but we definately would like to spend some time there as it is so beautiful and peaceful.

It can be a little difficult to find in the dark, and a single lane road runs around a small lake leading to the office. Each time we have stayed we have been greeted by fog so be careful on where you drive. We don’t think you will be disappointed when staying at Askew’s Landing.

Tampa South RV Resort – Ruskin, FL

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

The staff at Tampa South RV Resort are wonderful as are the people I have met here. But hello owners, can we talk?

The pool and laundry are great. Being on site 104 I consumed quite a bit of noxious fumes from septic and water treatment. The bathrooms are nice but if the showers have no water it’s a negative. A trickle of water at best in showers.

Don’t get me started on the internet. For what you charge all of these issues should be resolved asap.
