Tower Campground – Sioux Falls, SD

Tower Campground had a number of shade trees and was clean and neat. It is a decent place to stay overall.

They have free cable, wi-fi, some pull-thru sites, restrooms, showers and a laundry on site. Minutes from shopping and restaurants.

Thanks to the management for saving us a space with an after-hours check-in!

Tex’s Travel Camp – Green River, WY

Tex’s Travel Camp is not my favorite campground by a long stretch.

It’s very windy, which can’t be helped, but the dirt between rv parking sites blows and gets everything dirty. There are no street lights and a questionable clientele who were partying noisily well past the “quiet” hours. There is road noise and the trains nearby run all night. Pet waste was everywhere.

I would park in a rest area rather than go back there. Comments from neighbors were that the place is “scary”. I can’t think of anything good to say about this place.

My stay at Briery Creek Lake Getaway was very peaceful and clean as a whistle.

The sites are level and all pull thru. There was plenty of green grass to walk in also. The fishing was great also. The owner was very professional and was very helpful.

I had an Awsome time!

Pony Express RV Resort – North Salt Lake City, UT

What beautiful mountain Views! While visiting in North Salt Lake city we stayed at the Pony Express RV Resort. While the mountains were beautiful the camp ground was far that.

The poor attitude of the management sent us down the road to the next camp ground “toot sweet”. I felt like they didn’t like kids, pets, or full-time campers. They are called an “RV Resort” but they have 140 concrete pads on the corner of 2 major express ways… not the kind of camping a full-timer would like anyway.

The campground had no shade trees and limited grass areas. They seem to be working out some “opening” growing pains and have several issues with electricity. Maybe if they work through there growing pains they would be acceptable one day but right now I would rather go to one of the other SLC area campgrounds…

Just my “two cents”. But in any case… gotta love those mountains! “Camping is God’s way of showing us his Masterpieces”

PJ’s Family Campground – Stockbridge, MI

Upon arriving at PJ’s Family Campground, we found the price was right and had made reservations for a week. Little did we know that the bathroom and shower facilities were a total mess.

The playground for our grandchildren had only 1 swing. There were no sewer hookups… just water (which had a very bad smell) and electric. The 2 ponds made the misquitoes thrive and you could not sit outside. We used 3 cans of Raid misquitoe spray in 1 week just to keep them out of the motorhome.

There was mold around the ceiling of the shower house and in the shower stalls. It looked as if the sink basins had not been cleaned out for the entire week we were there. It was 3 days before someone swept the floor.

I would not recommend this to anyone traveling in the Stockbridge Michigan area.

The Pony Express in North Salt Lake City “looks* nice, bit that’s about it. It has a strange odor. I saw some reviews about the pool being closed for the health department, but when I called and asked they said the pool was open. This was a deciding factor in our stay since we just spend 6 hrs cleaning up our flooded RV from a busted pipe.

We booked two days. The pool is closed. The crew member said we were welcome to cancel with no problem, but this morning we got a different story. When the girl at the desk decided she wanted to get an attitude and tell me O can pay until Monday if I need to speak to a manager that badly, I decided it was review time.

Not only all of this, but its extreme loud from highway traffic. The water pressure in the showers is a drizzle. After all of this, even though we signed nothing and we were not told we couldn’t get a refund, they refuse to help us out.

There is a Walmart down the street that allows over nights, I would go there instead.

Cody Trout Ranch and Campground – Cody, WY

Cody Trout Ranch and Campground | RVBuddy.com

Cody Trout Ranch and Campground is a brand new 30+ RV pull through campground which would accommodate any motor home as I believe our RV camp site was 60′ long with at our site 50 amp electric, water, and sewer hock-up.

We were able to enjoy their high speed internet service and even catch and release trout in a nice fishing pond by two of their 10 tipis. Our other friends enjoyed staying in a huge tipi name Buffalo (hand painted on the side of the 20′ tipi) It had the most amazing Indian decor and very comfortable beds. But most of all it was located right on the shore of the Shoshone River.

Making Smores while listening to the river and watching white water rafters go by was so much fun. The owner Larry is such a great guy and is constantly improving his campground.

Cody Trout Ranch and Campground is less than 5 miles out of Cody on 14A. You will not regret staying. I found the information while surfing the web and got on his Wyomingtroutranch.com website. I am sure he is listed other places but this is where I got the info.

We will definitely be back! TYSVM Gail

Moose Hillock Camping Resort – Fort Ann, NY

This is a one nice campground… one of the nicest campgrounds we have been to in a long time!

The campground staff was friendly and accommodating and made us feel at home. Check-in was fairly quick and before you know it we were all moved in and ready to have some fun!

Moose Hillock looks to be a fairly new campground, the property is clean, and the sites are large, level and private… with plenty of space even for the largest motorhome. They have full hookup sites with 20, 30 and 50 amp electric service, water, sewer and cable TV. There are picnic tables and natural stone fireplaces at each site.

The facilities are squeaky clean, well maintained and there are plenty of amenities to keep the entire family happy.  Their playground has basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and play structures for the little ones. The have a very nice camp store with a good selection of groceries, souvenirs, and camping supplies. They Have a very impressive “Aloha Beach Tropical Swimming Pool” and water slides which they claim is the largest heated campground swimming pool in the Northeast. A small “Beach Side Cafe” is located nearby too!

Moose Hillock has a 400 seat pavilion that has entertainment on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The pavilion is located away from the campsites so the noise is kept to a minimum. Rounding out the amenities is a laundromat, golf cart rentals, camping cabins, hiking and biking trails.

Moose Hillock is located about 10 minutes from I-87, exit 20 on NY Route 149. Lake George, outlet shopping, Six Flags Theme Park and other attractions are just a short drive away. This campground will see us on a regular basis… it’s one of our favorites!

Sprague Lake Resort – Sprague, WA

If you are a seasoned traveler who would rather spend a quick over-night with the promise of mammoth channel cats, monster bass, and stocked to the gills steelhead trout my morning’s second cast… This is the shady, lakeside spot for you. My own son, now well grown, had an affinity for locomotives as well as fishing when he was a youngster… The sheer density of activity at Sprague Lake Resort is ideal for families with children of varied interests.

Numerous waterfowl, get your jollies fishing of several disciplines, well placed permanent playground equipment and lush grounds, are all positive value drivers for this location.

If you are looking for quietude, solitude, or isolation, stick to the national forests north/northwest of here. Full service hook-ups are available on a cafeteria style basis… That is why the price fluctuates from basic power and water only RV/5th Wheel sites, to full dump & WiFi for a nominal extra fee.

For active families who want to introduce the various styles of fishing to budding anglers, with abundant waterfowl and the added excitement of the regularly scheduled locomotive skirting the lake, there is something here for everyone.

The bath house is pristine, laundry is available on site, and the grounds are magnificently maintained beneath the shade of hundreds years old cottonwood trees.

I did not have any disturbance in my motor home during the passing trains. I would imagine the tent campers might want to include soft comfy ear-plugs for light sleepers, or children who are easily upset by noises during the night.

For myself, the gorgeous grounds and indulgent fishing opportunities far outweigh any minor annoyance caused by braking trains that punctuate the serenity of this spot.

Twin Fountains RV Park – Oklahoma City, OK

I have resided in Twin Fountains RV park for 6 years on and off but mostly on. When I first got here it was pretty good and improving each year. However, wifi has been an on going problem.

In my first year I would complain since the wifi was up and down. An excuse was always offered. Turns out they got another Internet Service Provider and the service improved but not perfect. Recently we had an Oklahoma Gas & Electric have their transformer go down twice in two weeks causing damage to the wifi which was in the process of switching to another Internet Service provider at the same time. Every year the electric goes down here in peak summer and low winter temperatures. Anyway, the new internet service provider is only supplying substandard service which means almost no service. The owner of this RV park just told me if the wi-fi here doesn’t meet my needs to get my own Internet service even though I pay $650/month in rent.

This is also the same owner who will not hesitate to charge you should you attempt to turn on or off your water supply which can easily break in super cold temperatures. Bottom line, if you depend on the wifi for work or entertainment do NOT come here. I won’t be here much longer.
