Strawberry Park Resort Campground – Preston, CT

Strawberry Park Resort Campground is under new ownership (2023). We used to camp here in the past but NEVER again.

Roof leaked in cabin. Fields for kids to play in were not mowed and covered with bees. Septic tank cleaning machine sprayed feces out of a broken hose. Activities were constantly cancelled. Water was shut off for 3 of our 5 days due to “maintenance issues”.

I feel terrible for folks who own property within the park. I recommend that you don’t buy property here and don’t waste your money renting a site.

Saddle Mountain RV Park – Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA

Booked 2 nights at Saddle Mountain RV Park on an April 8 and 9, had to cancel 4 days before stay due to mother in law close to dying.

I called to cancel and left message with above information. No call back. Mother in law passed on what would have been 2nd day of stay. Was charged the full amount of $200. Called again, voicemail wasnt working. Emailed and was written back that cancellations must be done via email only.

They had 4 days to call me back and advise me to cancel via email. Instead, all I got were emails advising me that I didnt follow their policy. Most RV parks would at most charge for first night of stay only, but we were well outside of 48 hour window, so should not have been charged anything.

Ive been RVing for 24 years and never had an issue like this before. We stayed once before but will never come back. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

North Spokane RV Campground – Spokane, WA

We made reservations 5 months in advance to stay at North Spokane RV Campground. First, they “forgot” to apply our Good Sam discount and tried to put us in a “buddy site”. After getting the site changed and discount applied, there was a a $42 overcharge. Instead of refunding to our credit card they put a credit on our ”account.” That was 5 months before our stay.

We were there for 5 nights at $84 per night so not exactly a minimal amount. Then a charge of $15.80 appeared on our account and when we asked what it was for the manager, Kaytlyn, could not, and would not explain. When we pressed her on what it was for, we were ordered to get out of her office. Be forewarned, once you make a reservation here requiring payment in full upfront, they will not give you a refund.

They also have a practice of allowing non residents to use the empty sites for dumping because they don’t have water at their dump station. After three RVs dumped next to us on our first day there we asked them to please stop doing that. Again the manager, Kaytlyn, who was combative said pretty much too bad and had no intention of stopping it. We called the ownership of the park twice with no return call.

This place is not Better Business Bureau accredited so they do not care about complaints against them.

Eby’s Pines RV Park and Campground – Bristol, IN

We have been full timing for 7 years and Eby’s Pines RV Park and Campground is the park that we like to go to for one month in September. We use the Internet all the time and we found the Wi-Fi to be strong and fast.

The roads are well maintained and they do not have ruts or puddles. Gravel would make an inferior road surface. We have met several older people there that say they have had a site there since the 70s. All of the people are super friendly at the park. We like the park because it is a perfect gateway to Indiana Amish country to the East and South Bend/Elkhart just to the west.

We like to go there in the fall because the Amish produce stands are world class. The tables overflow with fresh vegetables of all kinds this time of year. We also like it because the owner is around a lot and you can see him actively watching over the park. There are a couple of pools, a lake, and a trout stream all on the grounds.

They have a good website at www.EbysPines.com

Don Laine Campground – Palmerton, PA

Don Laine Campground is a beautiful camping option off US 209 and the Northeast extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The campsites are level and gravel. They have a big store with a cafe for breakfast or lunch. The property has wonderful views of the rolling grass hills all around. The bath house is immaculate.

The only bad things are some of the sites do not have cable or sewer. There are several local TV station viewable with your antenna. Wi-fi is available. They have a big hall for club meetings and a pool on site.

This is in the heard of Carbon county. It’s a great place for a 3 day getaway.

Tiki Tom’s RV Park is a wonderful place!

The manager at Tiki Tom’s RV Park is awesome. She has a great disposition with people. It’s like going home. You feel like you are wanted and are part of the community here.

Tiki Tom’s offers large concrete sites that cater for our large 44.5″ toy haul fifth wheel. We had our own private pier for fishing and large grass area for our dogs. The bathrooms are marble and a shower that will fit more than just two people. Also there are clean washers and dryers and they are free!

They have six areas of protected grassland along with several live oyster reefs, great for bird watching. 250′ lighted fishing piers.

Also a clubhouse facility with bathrooms/showers and washers & dryers and a workout room. Beautiful west side sunsets too.

This is just a wonderful place to relax and take it easy!

Indian Point RV Park – Eddyville, KY

My family LOVED Indian Point RV Park. Being a family owned and operated park, the owners were understandably busy and could not personally escort us to our site, but they made every effort to help us with any questions.

The campground was well maintained, the facilities were checked frequently, the amenities were just as described, and we agreed with the ratings given by our camping guides.  The state prison wasn’t an issue, as most parks in that area are close by, and the permanent campers are friendly and helpful as well.

I’m not sure what park the previous posters stayed at, but our expectations were completely met here.

Turtle Run Campground is a nice family camping destination located in the New Jersey Pinelands. They have RV and tent sites as well as camping cabins.

We stayed here this past fall and had a super time. The park has great management and an attentive staff. The restrooms and facilities were very clean and well maintained. They also have free WiFi.

Facilities include a small campstore that sells groceries and RV supplies, a laundromat, game room, recreation hall, swimming pool, and a playground with horseshoes, and a basketball court. They also have planned activities in season. It looks like the campground owners are always improving the experience of camping here.

We plan to return this fall and we have recommended Turtle Run to our camping friends.

New Green Acres RV Park – Walterboro, SC

On our last trip south on I-95, we stopped at New Green Acres RV Park for one night.

We arrived fairly late. There is a little covered outside area where late arrivals can check in, put money in an envelope and place in a box.

The campsites are mostly pull through which made me very happy and they advertize on their website that they have “the longest and widest pull-thru sites east of the Mississippi”. I’m not sure if that’s true, but they are pretty big.

They have a nice pet play area and it was clean. Everything was a little dated. Amenities included a laundry room, swimming pool, playground a small camp store, dumping station and club meeting facilities with a full kitchen.

It would be an okay place to stay one night as it is next to I-95.
