We stayed at Texan RV Park and have the following thoughts…

The grounds are unkept, and need mowing most of the time. There is a septic smell because aerobic systems don’t work right. The rates are continually going up and may be different from what you were quoted.

The restrooms are clean. Free wifi works sporadically or you can pay $59.95 for one hi speed connection.

There is very little shade here shady sites cost more. It’s ok for a short time, but I would not recommend staying here long term.

We were here 5 years and saw the beautiful park become an unkept park. So sad.

Lake Hartwell RV Park – Westminster, SC

First, don’t confuse this campground with similar name, and a state park. This review is located on S Highway 11 in Westminster.

There are 20 sites and for adults only – children are not allowed. It is also owner/occupied. They offer amenities – tv room, laundry and wifi. It depends on where you are if you can get internet. As for the TV room you would think is for the guests, however, you always find the owners in it and of course need to watch the shows to their liking.

Also, due to the location of the park, delivery services – pizza, subs, dinners, etc., is not available!

Countryside RV Park is one of the nicest, well maintained RV parks where my wife and I have stayed.

There is plenty of room between neighbors and each site has a picnic table and a fire pit along with electric, water and sewer hookups. The WiFi signal is acceptable depending on your location within the park and TV reception is okay; however, if you are looking to get away from it all then this place is perfect.

Activities include swimming in a crystal clear, dedicated swimming pond with man-made sand beach, fishing in a stocked fishing pond (catch and release only), games and videos in a lending library, hiking/bicycling, a basketball court, horse shoes and a playground with playhouses, sand toys, and lots of outdoor equipment

Amenities include a Gathering Room for games/videos, social events, full laundry facilities and free local attractions guides and list of area events.

Thanks Jim and Linda for for providing a little paradise in this hectic fast paced world.

I LOVE Camp at the Woods and their amenities. They have awesome hosts Ray and Melissa.They are very accommodating and have improved everything to a 5 star campground. They are always willing to help you out or offer advice. If you need help with absolutely anything they are quick to help or find help.

We are first time “full-timer” campers and have found our forever home. The shower/bathroom facilities are spotless, they have a heated pool in the summer with a water slide, and usually they have monthly celebrations or activities of some kind.

They never stop working to keep the campground clean and up to date. Awesome playground for the kids.

Just can’t say enough about this place.

Wilderness Presidential Resort – Spotsylvania, VA

Wilderness Presidential Resort | I-95 Exit Guide

Wilderness Presidential Resort is the closest campground to exit 130B on I-95, a little less than 9 miles west of the exit. (9220 Plank Road Spotsylvania, VA)

It’s a 600 acre resort with two lakes with John boats and paddle boats. Amenities include fishing, a recreation center, including tennis courts, softball field, disc golf, basketball, horseshoe pits, and more.

There are 2 outdoor pools and a year round indoor pool, a 18 hole mini golf course, a general store and on site grill. The campground also has knockerball and an adventure park with treetop ropes course and zip line, and a rockwall.

The resort has cabins, camp cottages and vintage RV’s available for overnight accommodations. They have sites with water, electric, and sewer. Also raised tent platforms.

Pumpkin Patch RV Resort – Hermon, ME

Pumpkin Patch RV Resort is one of the nicest campgrounds I have ran across. The sites are spacious, level gravel with grass between. Both the Pull through and back-ins will hold larger RVs.

The entire park is clean as a pin and has many beautiful flowers and trees. The grass is mowed weekly, and gravel is replaced as needed. The facilities include spotless bathrooms, with showers, and handicap accessible stalls at both the back and front of the park. There are also 2 laundromats on site that are as clean as the bathrooms.

The Owners are on site and go out of the way to make every camper feel at home, and appreciated. Their rates are very good, and credit cards are accepted, plus most discount cards.

The staff is excellent with their goal to keep campers happy, and the park clean and running smooth.

Big Creek RV Park – Annapolis, MO

Big Creek RV Park is a hidden gem. The restrooms were remarkably clean and in great shape! So was the laundry room.

There is much to do including a small pool area, a playground, horseshoe pit and volley ball court. All in great condition. All of the RV sites were good sized and there is plenty of space between them. They are all gravel and level. All of the hook ups were convenient. It is very easy to maneuver around the park with your RV.

We are definitely going to stay here again. We stayed in a 5th wheel. $39 a night.

Whispering Hills RV Park – Georgetown, KY

Whispering Hills RV Park is a nice, large campground with a pool, playground, lake, pavilion, basketball court, 2 small laundry/bathhouses.

They have pretty good WiFi, and a good amount of space between most sites and each has a plastic table and fire ring. Ice and limited supplies are available in the office. They escort you to sites, which were fairly level gravel. Provided jack pads if needed.

There is NO cable, the interior roads are dusty, there is a limited number of bath houses for the number of sites, and there is some road noise from the interstate and train whistles.

You have to sign a paper that you will not put rugs or vehicles on grass. I had read other reviews about this, but basically they want you to respect their property. We were in site 21 backed to deep ravine. There were some trees behind the site which were nice. Most of the park is clear of trees. Those that back to the lake have a nice view.

Here are a few tips:

Creation Museum is about 1 hour north and Ark Encounter about 30 minutes north, both are well worth the visit – plan at least one full day at each.

The Toyota Factory tour in Georgetown is very interesting, and the Kentucky Horse Park is well worth a visit if you are interested in horses (another full day tour).

We only visited one of many distilleries in the area. Lexington has some interesting history around the area, but that will have to wait for another trip.

There is shopping and restaurants convenient to the RV Park right off the interstate a few miles from park. There is a small Camping World store too.

Moose Beaches Campground – Westfield, NY

Moose Beaches Campground is new this year. It’s located right on Lake Erie with a beautiful beach. They have new bath houses. 50 amp electricity and good water. They have a dump station, and are currently installing sewer system.

All sites include a picnic table, fire ring, electric, water and bathroom facilities with showers. There is limited WiFi access.The WiFi is ok, but the cellular service is good.

You must be a Moose Club member to stay here. Current rates are $30 during the week, and $40 for weekend.

Beaver Lake Campground – Custer, SD

We booked 2 nights at Beaver Lake Campground in June for a mid July stay. During the 3 week RV trip, my wife’s Mother passed away and we had to change the original reservation and move it back by a couple of days.

Nothing was said when we changed the reservation that a $20 change fee would be charged. When we checked in it was again not mentioned. A separate charge for some firewood and ice was paid along with a another charge that was explained as a site upgrade fee as we got a “better” site.

Additionally, this park is dusty, hilly and very difficult to back in big rigs or trailers. Internet is almost impossible to use.

After we checked out this park charged us without authorization $20 for their change fee. Of 6 other RV parks that we had to change dates by a few days none charged us any fee. The woman who we called that charged the $20 was rude and unsympathetic to the loss of my Mother in Law.

Bottom line, there are many much better RV Parks in Custer, SD. In my opinion you should avoid this park.
