Potlatch State Park Campground – Hoodsport, WA

Potlatch State Park | RVBuddy.com

My husband and I camped at Potlatch State Park Campground last summer and really enjoyed ourselves. They have a relatively new section of campground that was formerly owned by Minerva Beach that has more RV hookup sites, and if you head up the hill there are some great tent camping sites which is what we did.

The Park straddles Highway 101 and is very easy to access.

The park was very clean. There were Port-A-Potties up by where we camped, but it was just a short walk down the hill to normal bathrooms. There is a coin-operated laundromat in the parking lot and pay showers in the bathrooms in the older campground area.

The day-use area has great waterfront access to Hood Canal. There is a large grassy area with scattered picnic tables and grills. There is a reservable shelter with picnic tables underneath that looks like it would be great for a summer group get together.

You can dig for clams and oysters when they are in season, just make sure you have a shellfish license and shuck the oysters on the beach because you are not allowed to take the shells. Potlatch is a popular site for scuba diving due to its easy descent.

Potlatch is only 3 miles south of Hoodsport which has a winery and some cute local shops. Lake Cushman is also a short drive away. It’s a great park for those wanting to visit Hood Canal!

Michigamme Shores Campground – Michigamme, MI

Michigamme Shores | RVBuddy.com

Michigamme Shores Campground is a scenic, peaceful, secluded park located in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula.

We had the opportunity to stay here for a week this past fall and had a great time! The campground staff was friendly and helpful. The park grounds are well maintained and interior roads are paved. Campsites have level gravel pads and full hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables.

The campground has a nice, sandy beach right on Lake Michigamme. The beach has volleyball court, playground, community fire ring, tables, a swimming area, and a boat dock. Away from the beach area there is are tennis and basketball courts. You can rent all sorts of watercraft including canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, motor boats, and pontoon boats.

The facilities are very clean and well maintained. They have a nice camp store that stocks a limited selection of groceries and camping supplies. They also sell ice, firewood, gifts and souvenirs, bait and tackle and hunting/fishing licenses.

You can enjoy fishing and hunting… Walleye, northern pike, and record size muskie! Fish around remote islands, in deep channels, or quiet coves. Bring your own boat or rent one.

Michigamme Shores makes a great base camp and you can literally walk or take a short drive to some of the best hunting in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

Nearby attractions include beautiful scenery around every turn, the Michigamme Museum, the National Ski Hall of Fame and more! We are planning another trip to Michigamme Shores this summer!

Chattahoochee RV Park & Campground – Chattahoochee, FL

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

Chattahoochee RV Park & Campground is a city owned and run campground. Granted it has no swimming pool or tennis courts but, its well maintained, clean, well run, and not expensive.

We snowbird a lot and this was one we never thought of before. We stopped in and stayed for the winter, and now through the entire summer too. They allow daily, weekly, and monthly stays. Rent included water, sewer, and electric. They gave us a discount of 10% because we were GOOD SAM members also.

The town is small compared to many in the area but with around 100 campsites here (no pull through s) it was well worth it. I caught a lot of fish in the three ponds, and the near by river. The play ground was great for the grand kids too. Shopping was just a short drive away for most things we needed and about 20 miles for a Wal-Mart, or a Home Depot.

I recommend any one wanting a nice reasonable with out all the bells and whistles place to stay here.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping – Mackinaw City, MI

What a wonderful campground! Mackinaw Mill Creek is a rather large campground with lots to do and you’re close to everything. Some of the sites have a great view of the Mackinaw Bridge.

The campground was very well maintained and most of the interior roads are paved. The quality and size of the individual sites vary. Some sites are good size under tall shade trees, and some are small and out in the open.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We didn’t care for the site we were assigned (too open, no shade) so we asked for another and were accommodated without a problem. The showers and bathrooms were clean and well maintained as were all the facilities.

I would, without a doubt, stay here again and would recommend it to all my camping friends!

Beachcomber Camping Resort – Cape May, NJ

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy

Beachcomber is one of the best campgrounds that we have ever stayed at! It’s a beautiful park with plenty of things to do for the entire family… and centrally located to both Wildwood and Cape May.

The campground is large, clean, well maintained and nicely landscaped. Amenities include 3 adult pools, 3 kiddy pools and 2 freshwater lakes for swimming, a large playground, and plenty of scheduled activities. Sites are comfortably large. Our site was on a large, level concrete slab. We also took advantage of the wireless internet (Wi-Fi)!

There’s an airport nearby and that can get a little noisy, but you get used to it. Otherwise a great campground and one that we will be visiting for years to come!

Salt Lake City KOA – Salt Lake City, UT

Salt Lake City KOA is a definite A+. The campground is close to downtown and between I-80 & I-15. Feels rural, yet you’re in the city.

They have a great staff, nice store, big pool, free wi-fi, and pull-thru sites with full hookups. The sites are spacious with level gravel spots and a table with grass and some shade. There’s even an RV wash next door… everything one could want in a park! Plenty of amenities too!

KOA staff can book you on a city tour or a free shuttle to see Temple Square. There is a state park behind the campground that has miles of riverside trails for biking or walking. Rates are a little on the high side… we paid almost $90 a night for a deluxe site.

Still… it was worth it!

Red Desert Rose Campground is clean and well-maintained and the staff couldn’t be nicer! They really made us feel at home, and gave us great advice about all of the things to do here.

We never knew that the Rawlins, WY area was so interesting! We ended up staying 5 nights in order to fit in everything we wanted to do! We went for a nice hike in the hills right behind the campground, took a long, scenic drive through the Medicine Bow forest, toured the historic Old Wyoming State Penitentiary, and strolled along the beautiful North Platte River.

This is a great park and I highly recommend it.

Cotillion Gardens RV Park – Felton, CA

Cotillion Gardens RV Park is a lovely campground, and what a lovely experience we had here. We were part of a large group camping there for several days.

We have two children aged 8 and 6. We were treated so well here at this park! The facilities were so nice. The park was totally clean and pleasant. Our group reserved the recreation facilities and had so much fun playing video games and ping-pong. We had a big breakfast in there Sunday morning.

The facilities were wonderful and the people were so pleasant. The pool is closed in the winter but the playground, basketball, and other facilities were totally fun. People in our group had pets which were totally welcome. Our kids felt right at home and were treated so nicely.

We only live about 30 minutes away but I’d go back for a quick weekend get away ANYTIME!

Picacho Peak RV Resort – Picacho, AZ

Picacho Peak RV Resort | RVBuddy.com

We are parked at Picacho Peak RV Resort as this is being written. We are recently retired and this is our first winter south. After a lot of internet searching, we picked this park for it’s location, it’s 55+ age restrictions, and the price. And believe me, for the price this place is perfect.

This resort is in the “country”‘ but within short driving distance of Tucson, Casa Grande, and great tourist attractions like Tombstone. The management is friendly, and there are a lot of guests that return year after year. We are already considering purchasing a park model and have some great options from which to choose.

While there are railroad tracks and highway I-10 close by, these do not bother us at all. One of the other things that we were impressed with is the size of the lots.  Many more expensive parks cram units into their parks. Here we have lots of space and don’t feel like we’re on top of the next guy.

Disregard the “lonely” location and give this place a try. You’ll love it.

Cedar Court RV Park – Springerville, AZ

Campground and RV Park Reviews | RVBuddy.com

Cedar Court RV Park is a nice, small quiet campground located in Springerville Arizona.

We camped here in a 5th wheel and had a wonderful stay. They have a laundromat on site and are just off of main street. The campground is within walking distance to McDonald’s, a grocery store, a hardware store and other stores and restaurants. There are also historic buildings within a few blocks including the movie theater.

The campground has wide drives with easy back-ins. This seems like a great four season area and they have apartments and mobile homes for rent. We will be back.
