Gettysburg Campground is a beautiful place located about 3 miles southwest of downtown Gettysburg on Route 116.
The very friendly staff made check-in a snap. They also make reservations for the Battlefield Tours and the bus comes right to the office.
The campground has nice, wide gravel roads. The campsites were very level gravel, some with grass areas and concrete patios. Most of the sites are full hook-ups, cable and wi-fi. They also have mini golf, a large pool and a fully stocked store. Some sites in the back section back up to a creek. I think there is fishing allowed. They have immaculate bathhouses.
We were there recently for the weekend with a group. They also have a nice pavilion area. They did say that they are anticipating large crowds this summer so sites are at a premium at times. Call ahead! This is definitely the place to go in the area.
We stayed at this campground in September. The campground is great! The hosts are wonderful and helpful. The place is clean and comfortably and close to all attractions. We would highly recommend staying here for your visit to Gettysburg!
Thinking about visiting Gettysburg early November. Is the campground open year round?
