Pack the kids, this place is great! Located in Poland, NY near the Southern Adirondacks. Our last-minute reservation was accepted quickly, and check-in was fast and friendly. Then came the real reward, the campground is immaculate. Buildings and grounds are maintained to a very high standard with lots of entertaining extras.
The West Canada Creek Campsites sits on the banks of West Canada Creek. The electric/water sites and tent sites are mostly on the water. You can fish right from your campsite! The three-way hook-up sites are large and nicely separated by trees. The hook-ups are all modern, complete with cable TV. The largest of rigs with multiple slides will fit here without question. It’s only a short drive to attractions such as the Herkimer Diamond Mines, Utica Zoo, and Adirondack Park among others. The campground has lots of things for kids and families, and still keeps a sense of privacy for those seeking solitude.
The seasonal sites are well kept to a high standard so there is no “trailer trash” appearance. The owners are new and highly motivated to keep a good, friendly atmosphere. Don’t bother to bring firewood, their prices are very low and the quantity is generous…think bucket loader! The tore has lots of basic grocery items and a variety of affordable toys, gadgets, and camp gear.
Canoe rentals are on-site with a shuttle available to take you upstream so you simply paddle “home”. And of course, you can visit the Little Red Caboose for ice cream, hotdogs and snacks.
Horrible! Rude, disrespectful stuck up owners that can’t control the drunk rednecks that let their kids run wild.
