If you admire horses then you are going to absolutely LOVE the Kentucky Horse Park Campground located in Lexington. I recently finished a two week horse show there with my eleven year old daughter, who is a show jumper, and it was delightful!
The campground has over 250 sites with 50/30/20 amp electric and water. All the sites are 55′ paved back-ins with fire rings and picnic tables. There are two dump stations as you exit the property. They also have a grocery store, gift shop and two bathhouses.
They have planned recreational activities including square dancing in the recreation pavilion. Also, lighted tennis and basketball courts, and a junior olympic-size swimming pool.
The campground also has electric primitive and primitive sites for those wishing for a more rustic stay.
Plus, they have nice, strong wireless Internet!

Compared to other parks, the Horse Park is fine for overnight stays, but not for any length of time. They have no sewer hookups at any sites. This means you must unhook, pack up and pull out to dump at their entrance station and return to hook up and unpack again, not very well planned for a world quality horse center.
