We visited the Skowhegan/Canaan KOA last summer for 15 nights. This is one of, if not the best campground we have ever stayed at. This is not a booming area but enough to keep you busy. You can do day trips to the coast, etc and explore the many area towns and parks.
Our hosts Don, Beth and son were OUTSTANDING!! They kept the show rolling. They have a lot of activities, very clean facilities, and a very well stocked store and game room. They need to be awarded for their work. You will get tired just watching them work so hard to make your stay a pleasure!
We will be back and it’s a short ride off I-95 if you need a one night stay. Ray&Joy from New Jersey
The sites are adequate and in section “k” we had an open field area behind us. The management has lots of rules. The pool was cool and should be heated a bit more to feel comfortable. They have a small hot tub that fits 3. It is locked up and you have to have a key to use it, so it can only be used when the office is open. The owner always put chemicals in during the day and shuts it down for periods of time, so don’t plan on using it much. There is plenty of activities for the kids to do. Ice cream social, mini golf, arcade and a fire truck ride too. I wouldn’t recommend it for small children because the fire truck was blaring their horn up until 9pm making campers frustrated. The place was clean but water logged because of the New England summer this year. This is a dog friendly park. The firewood price is reasonable at $4.00 a bundle and the gift shop is not over priced either. We had a good time at this campground and would recommend it.
