I’ve written about South Forty Camp Resort several years ago, so now it’s time for an update…

Formerly a KOA, South Forty Camp Resort is quiet and peaceful respite after a long drive on I-95. It’s located about 1/2 mile east of I-95, exit 41. That makes it a perfect overnight stop for us as we travel between Florida and New England.

I wouldn’t consider this campground a “resort” but it certainly is a comfortable place to spend a night or two. The pull thru sites are a little rough but they are reasonably large, even for larger rigs.

They have full hookups (including cable), a swimming pool, nature trails, fishing (no license required) , a playground, convenience store, game room, laundry, and free Wi-Fi. The facilities are clean and well maintained.

Nino’s North Italian restaurant is within easy walking distance and is open in the evening and has some great pizza and Italian food to die for.

Don’t bother visiting their website. As of this post date it will just take you to a nondescript sample page template for a future website. It’s been that way for several months… shame on South Forty. No website is better than an embarrassing one.

  1. Stopped at south 40 for a two night stop. The 1st spot placed our front door next to the sewage hose for the site on our right. The picnic table was situated to where it straddled the dump hole and a rag from the camperon our right was on the seat. I should have taken a picture. That is not what a traveler wants to see after a long day of driving. We asked to move and we got a site on the end of the row. No one on our right.
It is a peaceful place but having your neighbors dump hole at your front door is not acceptable. A small fence to seperate that area would help some.
