Patty & Craig (the owners) have carved a great new campground just south of Potosi/Ironton, MO on Highway 49. They bend over backwards to make your stay a pleasant experience.

Duck Races on Big Creek are a hoot! The all new facilities include a recreation hall with plenty of showers, a laundry, game room and a meeting room for group activities. We stayed with them twice now and have really enjoyed our stay both times. They’ve keep a list of eating places near-by so if you tell them what you, they can match you up with something you’re sure to like. A list of places of interest is available also and there’s lots to see and experience within a short drive.

If you’re every close by, be sure to spend some time with them – I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay with them!

Barks Plantation RV Park is a family owned and operated private campground in Glen Allen, Missouri. Located on the hillside, we have 38 drive-thru RV lots with water, electric and sewer hookups. Tent & Pop-up’s can pick a spot on the hillside and enjoy the lakeside view.The camping area is primitive camping with no electric or water to the sites. We have clean showers & restrooms, card room, laundry room at the pavilion. You can fill containers and carry water from our pavilion.

Our picnic area with the Pavilion can be reserved. Please call for rates. In addition we make and sell our own maple syrup, and sorghum. Barks Plantation hosts Heritage Days in late September and cook off sorghum the ole fashioned way. We grow our own sorghum, strip it by hand, press it by horse drawn press, and cook it down till its good and sweet.

Natalbany Creek Campground is located near Amite, La. on Highway 16 just off I-55 and north of Hammond, Louisiana. This is one of our favorite places to stay.

They have a very friendly staff. The park is kept clean as is the 3 bath/laundry houses (with security cameras). The 135 sites are spaced far enough apart to enjoy your stay. The sites have 20, 30 and 50 Amp service and all concrete drives and pads with full hookups and satellite tv.

This is a kid friendly park with playground, pool & fishing pond. They also provide golf cart rentals and paddle boats. Rentals cabins and propane are also available. We camped there 3 times and going back again the next chance we get.

I almost forgot… Internet access is provided and there’s a Wal-Mart near by.

A few summers ago we took a three week vacation and toured the midwest in our new motorhome. About 25 miles west of St. Louis on I-44 (Eureka) we passed a Six Flags Theme Park.

Since it was fairly early in the morning, we decided to stop, park the RV in the lot and spend the day at the park. We could take our time at Six Flags because we had reservations at Yogi-Bear’s Jellystone Park conveniently located less than a half-mile away.

Exhausted from a hot July day at the park, we were really looking forward to pulling in to our campsite and relaxing for the nite. We were pleasently suprised when we entered the campground. The “Ranger Station” check-in was quick and the staff was friendly. The station also included a small general store with groceries and camping supplies, a laundromat (open 24 hours), restrooms, showers and a computer modem station. FREE Wi-Fi is also available at this campground.

This campground is comfortably small… with only about 60 sites and many had full-hook-ups. The interior roads were paved and fairly easy to navigate. Our site was a little small but level and shaded.

There was a very nice pool with a poolside snack bar, a Yogi Express train ride thru the park for the kids, video arcade, mini-golf and a new playground. The kids had plenty to do here. If fact, we liked it so much we decided to spend an extra day here before we packed it up and continued our tour thru the Midwest.

We highly recommend this Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park!

Timberlake is a beautiful campground with shaded, as well as sunny sites. The staff was friendly and helpful and the property was clean and well maintained.

The waterfront sites here are the same price as the rest. You can see the Ross Barnett Reservoir from most areas in the campground and they have a nice boat ramp too. Other amenities include a pool and tennis courts.

There are quite a few restaurants and shopping a short drive away… some within walking distance. The have Wi-Fi but it did not work for me.

Here’s a great RV park that’s literally 2 blocks from the French Quarter! It’s easy to find (you can see it from I-10) at exit 235A, and the access roads are wide and ez for big rigs.

Inside the park the sites are all paved with bricks, and the clubhouse is beautiful, with a lush courtyard and pool. Each site has a screened wood gazebo. We found the campground to be surprisingly quiet considering it is right next to the Interstate. The security guard made it easy to sleep, as we felt very safe inside the resort.

This is undoubtably the most convenient location in New Orleans for exploring the French Quarter. Rates are comparable to similar resorts we have stayed at in FL, and a bargain compared to the local hotels in such a touristy city. We could only stay one night this trip, but we will be back in this summer!

Mark, the owner is a bit on the crazy (fun) side and he couldn’t have been more attentative. The grounds neat and clean. It was a perfect 2 night stay visit for us . I just wish it could have been longer.

We heard about Poche Plantation RV Resort in Florida from other campers. We made it a point to stop and stayed at the resort for two days.

The owner personally parked us. We really appreciated his help. The sites are large and the electric is very strong. The clubhouse facility is very large and spotless. Other RV guests like it very much and return from year to year.

This is a great place to stay to see the plantations and the food in the area is wonderful. We will be back!

Felix Poche Plantation is one of the best campgrounds (really a RV Resort) we have ever stayed at! The ambience is certainly something we will remember. It’s just a easy place to love.

Thanks to the entire staff. It was Louisiana hospitality at it’s best. We enjoyed the free tour of the Mansion but the historic grave yard and grotto inside the historic church had such great artchitecture. It was just beautiful! The walks along the Mississippi river with provided amazing sunsets on the water… We really enjoyed the band and feast at the Thursday Night Feast known as Fiddler Night. The music was moving.

My husband and I recently stayed at Poche Plantation Camping RV Park and we were very happy with out stay. This park is in a great location. We have family in the Baton Rouge area and wanted to spend a few days visiting New Orleans and the location could not have been better.

The campground is very clean and quiet and it surrounds the Poche Plantation home which made for a one-of-a-kind experience for us. The couple that manages the park lives on-site and were very friendly and helpful, letting us know about the local attractions. The park is located within a short distance of several other plantations and we were able to visit Houmas House and Oak Alley during our stay. Several restaurants are nearby and we would never have found them without their direction and these places would be considered a best-kept secret … the food was fantastic.

This Park offers a large cottage with attached washeteria that was very convenient for us since our 5th wheel does not have a washer/dryer and it also has a reading room inside and a kitchen that campers can use as well. The showers were very nice for a campground. We were lucky to get a campsite at Poche … the camp ground was full when we arrived and apparently serves a lot of the plant workers from time-to-time. We would have stayed at the overflow park down the road from the main park but we ended up arriving as someone else was leaving.

We really enjoyed the tour of the plantation and we were just a short walk from a very old Catholic church. We were told that the Plantation, Church and Cemetery offer a well-known “Graveyard” tour by a local historian and actors during the month of October. We will be back for that. Internet was a little unpredictable but could get access from time-to-time. I recommend reservations …. we never make them and again, this place was full. The office was difficult to find; however, the manager met us at the entrance and helped us park our camper. We also travel with our dog and the levee made for a nice stroll in the mornings with him. We stayed at Poche RV Park in a large 5th wheel.
