We have two pre-teen boys and they just love to camp out. After doing a little research we discovered that Loon Lake Lodge had hookups for our camper and they also had tent sites and yurts. The boys wanted to pitch a tent, but we got them a yurt for themselves. It had bunkbeds which was much better for them than sleeping on the ground – in my opinion anyway. They even had a little refrigerator where they could keep their water and soft drinks cold and a microwave for evening popcorn snacks.

Our site was perfect for our needs. We are pretty much self contained, but we did need to be near the facilities. Which we were. The boys rented a paddleboat one afternoon and their father took them fishing every morning. Then one evening we had an early dinner and drive the few miles to the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area. The brochure said one of the best times to see the heards was right before sundown, do we parked and had a great vantage point. It was very educational for the boys to see wildlife as it should be – without interference from humans.

In our camper area we met some very nice people and the boys also found some children their own ages to pal around with. Everyone was friendly, including the management. There isn’t anything they could have done to make us feel more welcome. Our set up was easy and worry-free.

We have room for five to sleep comfortable. I just loved Yosemite RV Park! We had a choice of full hook-ups or just water/electricity. We selected the full hookup because the costs were so reasonable.

There were quite a few other RV families like us, and everyone got together and had a fine time. Our children met others the same age and were able to swim and play sports together. We met people we will stay in contact with. When the kids were out using up their energy, us more sedate folks took in a movie.

Yosemite RV Park has something for everyone it seems. They have these huts and places to pitch a tent. They have very nice cabins that sleep up to 10 or 12. And you get to choose what kind of slot you want for your RV. Since we didn’t have to worry about it being too warm, we choose a place where we had beautiful outdoor views.

The staff and management were very accommodating. They told us about things we could do in the area as well as just visiting Yosemite. When we drove through Yosemite it was more than I expected. The snow capped mountains looked like they should be in a Hollywood movie. The kids were interested in all the Indian names for cities and creeks.

We had our own fire pit where we could cook out and different folks took turns cooking for the others. It was wonderful! Yosemite RV Park has a very homey feeling for those who are away from their actual homes.

We drove from the Eugene airport and were greeted by a herd of elk grazing away unperturbed by the curious onlookers. That set the tone for the trip which was one of the best we have had in recent times. Loon Lake is a great place. It’s easily accessible and yet, has a natural aura about it. Coming back to the resort, we are a family of 3. But we chose a riverfront cottage. It has a deck that overlooks the lake and there’s nothing like having a drink hearing the loons in the distance. Just melts the stress away. The cottage was very spacious and well furnished. The kitchen was well stocked. And the linen was clean and fresh.

The marina area has different types of boats for rental and we spent some time in a Pontoon boat which was a first for the kid. I tried by hand at Canoeing but it was a lot more difficult than it seems. The kid was also introduced to fishing. Her first time and she caught her first fish within minutes.

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place with great services that wont drain your pocket, then this is it.

We were planning our trip to Yosemite National Park and a lot of people suggested that we book our stay at the Ahwahnee. But for a family of 8, it was a tad overpriced and we decided to opt for the cheaper Yosemite Pines Resort. The call was made and we booked the luxury cabin. It being off season, we got the cottage for $189 which is amazing considering that you are living in a full size cottage that can house 8 people.

We were greeted by the bellman who was very curteous and accompanied us to our cabin. The cabin was picturesquely located. It had a rustic feel to it which was complimented by the right furniture. The beds were heavenly with clean linen and the kitchen is as good as your own.

Yosemite is an hour’s drive away but the drive is well worth the wait. Stop and click some pictures. We went for hiking trips and kids loved the moutain biking trails. The ambience was amazing. We could feel the Yosemite air while we enjoyed our barbeques in the evening.

Did I forget to mention the petting farm? If you are pet lover, then you gotta visit this place. The alpacas are so gentle and beautiful.

If you are looking for a pleasant stay for a cheap price, then this is a great choice. I would certainly recommend it to my friends and relatives.

We’ve RV’d here numerous times and each time gets better than the last. The breathtaking valley views, the convenient location (all within striking distance: Highway 1, the beach, Aquarium, 17 Mile, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Garland State Park, restaurants, and grocery stores), pet friendly (must be on leash), hiking trails, nice clean bathrooms, hot showers, free Wi-Fi, and plenty of parking. Our 4 year old especially enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing badminton and horseshoes, exploring on her bike, and nature walks.

The only disappointments were not being able to have a fire-pit wood campfire (only propane), a very chilly “heated” pool, and no on-site laundry facility. However, the pleasant staff made-up for it by being so professional and accommodating; they referred us to local launderettes within 1.5 miles. Lastly, the one-lane bridge looks precarious- it’s safe. Just take your time crossing it and note that the left turn up the hill to the RV park will sneak-up on you. If you’re towing, it might be a good idea to unhook prior to turning onto Schulte Rd. while you’re on Carmel Valley Rd.

As world travelers and having lived in other countries, I must say this is one of our favorite places on earth. Cheers and happy travels!

This is a typical KOA, the sites were large and spacious, a nice park like atmosphere, friendly folks and anxious to please. The views from the campground are great. The park is quiet and the sites are grassy with some shady spots. They have a heated outdoor pool. Fishing and boating are nearby. There is a convenience and gift store on the property. They also have free Wi-fi.

They have weekend ice cream socials from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We had a great time camping here!

This was our destination after a long day’s drive and we arrived after dark (and it was too late to find another option).

To our disappointment, the tent area was directly across the river from a lumber mill which operated throughout the night. As sound carries over water, it was as if we had pitched our tent amid forklifts and heavy equipment with the din of the noise in our ears throughout the night.

Also to note, the grass was in desperate need of cutting, and there was rubbish rested in the BBQ. The toilet stall door did not secure and the toilet was loose and wobbly. There was no one at the office when we arrived or when we left the next morning. We did provide a written request for a no charge or a discount, however we were charged in full.

This park should really provide full disclosure on their website about offensive noise levels. This sleepless night will not be soon forgotten and we hope no other tent campers suffer as we did.

It was a nice place to stay. The campsites accommodated my large rig with 50 amp service. The laundry room and store really come in handy.
