We were at Atlanta South RV Resort for a NASCAR race. Rain delayed the race, so we extended our stay for 2 days.

The front desk personel were very helpful and friendly. There is no cable TV, and the prices were more expensive for race weekend. The camp sites are very small and you are very close to next site. There is no shade. The bathhouse is clean and climate controled.

The location is easy off/on to I-75. We would go back just because of the closeness to the racetrack, but wouldn’t pick this campground for a camping vacation.

Benchmark RV Park was a jewel of a park, and big-rig friendly!

The campground is neat, clean, and well maintained with long wide level sites (75′ sites each with a 10′x40′ level concrete pad). The owner was very friendly and helpful. This is one of the nicest parks we had been to so far this year. They also have Wireless Internet, which is a must for fulltimers. More parks should be like this!

We are fulltime RVers and have visited many parks out there and this was one of the best parks we have stayed in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Timberlake is a beautiful campground with shaded, as well as sunny sites. The staff was friendly and helpful and the property was clean and well maintained.

The waterfront sites here are the same price as the rest. You can see the Ross Barnett Reservoir from most areas in the campground and they have a nice boat ramp too. Other amenities include a pool and tennis courts.

There are quite a few restaurants and shopping a short drive away… some within walking distance. The have Wi-Fi but it did not work for me.

This is a great KOA park. It is a bit out of the way (about an hour from the caverns), and being in the middle of desert land can get quite windy, dusty and hot. The very nice landscaping is still very young so there is no shade.

It is also on the pricey side at $45+ per night. However, the camp hosts are probably the best we have ever run across. They are very accommodating and make you feel like you are a guest. None of this closing at 8pm and never seeing anyone again.

Don escorted us to our site, stood around and visited for a few minutes and actually had a little bottle of bleach solution that he poured on the faucet just to sanitize! I’ve never seen this before.

The sites are nice and level and our site had two dump valves to accommodate adjusting your rig so it?s positioned as your prefer. The playground is nice, the pool is great, the fire truck rides are cool and the restrooms are completely unbelievable. They will even deliver bar-b-q dinner to your rig (fee) if you desire.

Lakewood is another huge campground on the Atlantic Ocean. The staff keeps the grounds nice and clean. They are very helpful also.

We enjoy staying there, but there are a few problems. If you stay around 4th of July the fireworks noise lasts for another at least 4-5 days. Fireworks should be on the 4th not on any other day. At night there is a problem with golf carts! The kids there do not respesct the rules of the campground when it comes to driving. I look around and see underage children driving and fast! No respect for others! The campground security does not enforce the golf cart good enough. I understand that it is a huge campground but security is not good enough.

The sites have plenty of room with full hook ups. By the way, make sure you rent a golf cart to get around there because the property is huge!

I would rate this park a 5 out of 10. We stayed here on a monthly rate using 50 amp. Rate was $497/mo and it included unmetered electricity. This is a membership private park part of the Ocean Canyon Properties. They do have a public area that non members can use; however, reservations can not be made for these—it’s first come. Check in time is typical. If you are not a member, you will not get to choose your site. You are provide an escort to the site.

The park is clean, well maintained. Sites are dirt/grass. Concrete or gravel would be much better for when it rains and the mud. Very scenic with the rivers running around it. Lots of trees but not all sites are shaded. They offer WIFI for a fee. For a month it was $40.

They have a swimming pool and tube rentals for the river. They offer cabins for rent but unsure if you can use them if not a member.

Park staff leaves much to be desired. I would have given this park a higher rating had their staff actually enforced their rules and respected their paying guests. On the evening of 10/10/09 the park rented out the Tres Rios Palace building in the park, which is by the public campsites, to a private party with a very loud DJ. The booming base of the music literally vibrated the camper. Sheriff on hand at the party measured the decibel level at 82 but couldn’t shut it down unless it was over 85. So management would have to do something, which they didn’t. Quiet time for the park is 10pm. Management allowed the party and vibrating base to continue until 1 am, expecting their paying RVers and members to tolerate such a nuisance until late in the night. Many of our neighbors were equally annoyed.

I wouldn’t suggest ever paying to become a member of Ocean Canyon Properties when you will be asked to tolerate such private events. And if you are not a member and thinking of staying nightly, I would avoid the park on Saturday nights when they seem to book private parties. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a huge campground… with nearly one mile of sandy beach right on the Atlantic Ocean! Ocean Lakes has lots of amenities. “Sandy Harbor Family Fun Center” is part of a 2 acre recreation complex and includes a pool area with sun decks, a game center, a mini-golf course and an indoor/outdoor Cafe. Their “Camptown Center” is in the heart of the campground and features a store, a laundromat, “Center Stage” and “Sandy’s Meet n’ Eat”. They even have an RV Center, a large RV supply store and a service and parts department.

Right at the campground is the “Ocean Lakes Nature Center” that offers exhibits and information on shells, fossils, sea life, wildlife and ecology of coastal South Carolina.

Along the campground’s oceanfront there are large playgrounds and outdoor recreation games like volleyball in the sand, shuffleboard or basketball. You can get the equipment in the recreation office. The Recreation Building is only feet from the ocean and features many activities too! You could actually spend your entire vacation right at the campground… there’s so much to see and do.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place to go. Ocean Lakes can be extremely busy during the summer. Campsites are really quite small, with little privacy. The pool can be packed and traffic is coming in all day and night and golf carts are everywhere. At night the oceanfront area becomes “the strip”, and everyone heads their in their golf carts.

Ocean Lakes Campground is in a great location that’s central to Myrtle Beach destinations including “Broadway at the Beach, “Surfside” and the downtown area.

Overall this is great campground for families and campers who don’t mind giving up some privacy for a lot of activity. We did enjoy it and will return… but it does also make you appreciate those peace and quiet campgrounds too!

Askew’s Landing is a beautiful secluded campground located in the rolling hills of Mississippi. Is located east of Jackson, MS just off of Interstate 20 on Askew’s Ferry Road (turn left) about 4 miles from Edwards, Mississippi and is reasonably priced.

This campground is part of a Civil War plantation owned by the Askew Family. You can still see the old dirt road that was build by the plantation workers. It is part of a Civil War battlefield as well. It is well maintained, has large pull thru campsites, two bathhouses, a swimming pool, playground and activity barn. It has a fishing lake but photographers will find a wealth of nature photo-ops. The campground has lots of tall pines and other shade trees. The sites are very clean. Check-in and out was a breeze. We have stayed at this campground 3 times on our way to other destinations, but we definately would like to spend some time there as it is so beautiful and peaceful.

It can be a little difficult to find in the dark, and a single lane road runs around a small lake leading to the office. Each time we have stayed we have been greeted by fog so be careful on where you drive. We don’t think you will be dissappointed when staying at Askew’s Landing.

We stayed overnight at Ameristar RV Park on our way back to Texas. This campground is about a block from the Ameristar Hotel and across from the Ameristar Casino. We had reservations.

The sites are all paved with a small patio. They are quite close together but were adequate for our 39′ 5th wheel and dually to remain connected. The showers, bathroom and laundry are small but very clean and are housed in the reception/check-in building. The staff is efficient. We received 2 free breakfast buffet vouchers for the Casino buffet which was very good. A shuttle is provided between the RV Park, hotel and Casino.

The park was well kept and has easy access to I-20. We would stay there again.

We stayed 5 wonderful nights at Logan Landing. My only complaint is that the sites were not very level but we were allowed to change sites.

The setting is beautiful. Logan Landing has its own private lake and some of the sites are on Logan Martin Lake. There is a clubhouse, a large swimming pool and a swimming beach. You are allowed to fish for free at the private lake. There is no swimming in the private lake.

The sites are shady and were more than large enough to accommodate our 39′ 5th wheel and dually truck. The site had a cement patio with a picnic table and a grill. The RV park was very clean as were the showers, restroom and laundry. The campground has a gated entry and the park is very peaceful. The staff is very friendly and helpful and accommodating.

We will definitely camp there again and look forward to it.
