We followed the signs to Vortex Spring Campground when we discovered the Ponce de Leon Springs State Park did not have a campground.

Driving into Vortex Spring, it appeared that it been deserted other than a really nice dive shop where we checked in. The bathrooms definitely were not inviting. They also looked like they had been sitting vacant for awhile with doors wide open. Fortunately we had sewer hookup because I would not have been comfortable using their showers.

We have been traveling across the country now for 8 weeks so we have seen pretty much every type of campground. The kicker here is I was on-line, doing a little research on their site here. The home webpage for this campground advertised “Winter Special – 50% off all camping and lodging Monday through Thursday”. We had been charged full price at check in. I emailed them and asked if we could be refunded the 50% and the response was that you had to mention it at check-in, sorry. To me this is false advertising and pretty rude considering we were the only patrons in the campground.

Avalon Landing RV Park is one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at in a long time.

They have very, very clean bathrooms and laundry. The pool is small but it was right on he water and it had a great view. Some of the sites are along the road but the campers we talked to on those sites said the noise was not bad at all.

I can not say enough good about the staff. We came in a little after 7 pm and even though the office was closed, one of the managers was walking his dog and helped us get backed into our site. They gave us a great idea for a nice Bar-b-que dinner. We even saw them there that night. When we registered the next morning, the lady gave us great suggestions for things to do and maps to avoid high tolls.

We were originally only going to stay there for 2 nights but extended it to a week. If you are in a motorhome they have some nice pull-in sites that face the water, with nice views. We will definitely stay with them again.

We stayed at Jamaica Beach RV Park in June 2011.

The park is clean, nice, and full of fun things to do. The bathrooms were very clean. The clubhouse, food and slushy drinks were great. The staff was awesome.

We had no problems during our stay and would highly recommend the Jamaica Beach RV Park!

Eagle View RV Resort is a great park! While you may feel let down if you like a place that has ice cream socials, dances, and BBQs, this is the place to be if you want a quiet, secluded, clean park in beautiful surroundings with great wildlife viewing.

The park is set in the desert right on the Verde River and in the local Indian Reservation but still within minutes of Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Mesa. The staff has superb customer service skills and are always smiling. All campsites and roads are paved. The clubhouse, showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, and pool and jacuzzi are clean and well maintained. Kids and pets are both welcome as long as they are well behaved and quiet.

This park may be more expensive than other parks in the Valley but in my opinion, it’s well worth it.

We don’t normally stay in parks that are both RV and Mobile Home parks. But while in Casa Grande last year, we drove past this place and poked our heads in to check it out for a return visit. We stayed for about a week this year, and let me say Cottonwood Cove has changed our minds! We loved it!

The sites are huge (they’re designed for a mobile home, so an RV is no problem!) with wide, long patios on one side and a separate driveway on the other. The streets are also very wide and it was no problem getting our 43′ coach (with tag) in or out of the space. The pool area was beautiful, the park managers (on site) were very nice, and the park is full of large shade trees and mature plantings. How often do you get to stay in the desert in a space in the shade?

Lake City is a nice campground run by friendly people. I stayed in late April and there were not many people there.

The campground offers free wifi, an activity room (with TV) and the showers and bath area were clean. I stayed in a small camper and used the tent area, which offered electricity and water. I also stored my trailer there afterward in their storage area and the cost was minimal.

I’d use them again.

Anaheim Harbor RV Park is a small but decent campground about 1/2 mile north of Disneyland. The shuttles or city bus stops right in front. There is also a nice family restaurant right next door.

About 1/2 of park camp sites appear to be long term types. All the sites are blacktop and can accommodate 40-foot RVs plus tip-outs. They have Full hook-ups, plus 30 & 50 AMP service. Amenities include a heated swimming pool, playground, a large new laundry room, newly constructed bathrooms, Free wireless internet access, Free cable TV hook-ups, a Mini Market, a five hole putting green, and a video arcade.

The staff is very helpful and will arrange a rental car if need be. There are also great views of Disneyland fireworks without leaving the park!

What a great RV park!  The park managers are really friendly, very helpful, and they run a tight ship. This park is spotless!

We had a wonderful stay here. The sites are all clean gravel, level, have large concrete patios, full hookups, and they are very wide. There’s plenty of room for large rigs with multiple slide-outs, with space to park your car, and you’ve still got lots of room! No feeling cramped/jammed in here.

We were recommended Pine Lake RV Park by fellow Canadians. We planned to stay only one night here, but were taken at the natural beauty of this park so we stayed for 5 days.

We went down by the lake and enjoyed ourselves fishing for the afternoon (we each caught two fish) and later checked out their walking trail. The grounds are neatly manicured. Another cool thing was that they actually have a full gym with exercise equipment and machines next to the laundry room.

The staff was very accommodating (to our many requests for faxes and stuff) and there’s a computer for use in their Recreation Room; the WiFi was working great. We ended up staying a full week and highly recommend anyone de-stress when moving north or south in Florida.

We camped here in a Motorhome.

Here’s a great RV park that’s literally 2 blocks from the French Quarter! It’s easy to find (you can see it from I-10) at exit 235A, and the access roads are wide and ez for big rigs.

Inside the park the sites are all paved with bricks, and the clubhouse is beautiful, with a lush courtyard and pool. Each site has a screened wood gazebo. We found the campground to be surprisingly quiet considering it is right next to the Interstate. The security guard made it easy to sleep, as we felt very safe inside the resort.

This is undoubtably the most convenient location in New Orleans for exploring the French Quarter. Rates are comparable to similar resorts we have stayed at in FL, and a bargain compared to the local hotels in such a touristy city. We could only stay one night this trip, but we will be back in this summer!
