We had a great time on our recent vacation in Trail, Oregon. We planned our trip to hike, fish and just enjoy nature. After booking the trip we discovered it coincided with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland… about a 45 minute drive away, so we took in a play as well. That was a great experience.

We’re fairly new to RVing and had heard some less than favorable things about lack of customer service and cleanliness of facilities at some parks. Not so at Bear Mountain RV Park. Several people live there all year long, which speaks to their satisfaction. Everything was as we expected from our initial conversation with staff. The park is well maintained and bathrooms are clean (a big plus for us).

Twin Lakes RV Park is a great family campground. They have a friendly staff and a lot of summer families from the area. “Seasonal” quiet during the week and activities for the kids all day Saturday.

They have a swimming lake that is spring fed and fishing a lake for fishing too. The only negative here is that there is no laundry facility on the grounds and the bathrooms could use some updating.

Compared to what is on their web site there is a big difference. Walnut Meadows RV Park is OK for an overnight stay but the pool looks like it has been empty for a long, long time.

The gravel roads and sites are OK… at least they are pretty level in a big rig. Apparently Passprot America gives discounts here and there were several other motorhomes here for the night. I think that maybe they are not keeping up with the appearance as the buildings look in poor shape. I did peek in the women’s bathroom and have to say it appeared to be pretty clean.

Windrock Campground is the place to ride quads, dirt-bikes, or jeeps. The trails are fantastic, I hear it’s like 70,000 acres of property with hundreds of miles of trails. We stayed at Windrock Campground for 3 days and had a fantastic time.

The people there were great, Gene and Missy are the best! They keep things quiet and I can see that they won’t put up with any crap from crazy-type people that are sometimes in ATV campgrounds we’ve stayed at. I was glad of that cause I’m a light sleeper, but we didn’t get woke up a single time there.

New River Trail RV Park - Fries, VirginiaWe have stayed at New River Trail RV Park on numerous occasions this year and can honestly state that it is one of the nicest RV parks we’re ever stayed in. When we camped at other parks in the area we were always ready to leave after a couple of days. But there is just something very unique about this “special little park in the mountains” and the small town of Fries!

The campground is located in a narrow valley between two mountains. The park is very well laid out with beautiful landscaping and grounds. Each RV site has a great natural view instead of seeing the back of another RV when you are sitting under your awning - what a difference! Each site has 50amp service, cable TV with plenty of channels, water, sewer, and I’ve had no trouble accessing their wireless Internet service from any site in the park.

Rest-A-While RV Resort - Hoodsport, WashingtonThis is a nice RV park right on Puget Sound with its own private beach. Some sites are about 10 foot from the water, others are set back in the woods nestled in the trees. Beach front sites are pull-thru, most of the forest sites are back-in.

The winter storms last year (07) took a toll on the area and there was a lot of damage done to park, but for the most part they have its fine now. Some blow-downs in the back.

Camping on the Gulf - Destin, FloridaWe recently stayed at Camping on the Gulf Holiday Travel Park in Destin, Florida. The people that assisted us at the check-in process were very friendly and the process was fast. We were escorted by beach patrol, as there called, to our designated spot. Throughout the property there is a 4 1/2 MPH speed limit. I thought that was great, because the amount of kids that I saw I’m glad there thinking of the little guys.

Port Huron Campground - Port Sanilac, MichiganLake Huron Campground is a great, brand new RV resort located right on Lake Huron. They have brand new facilities and lots of activities for the kids.

We rented a golf cart and had a great time over the 4th of July holiday. Their fireworks display was awesome! The property doesn’t have alot of trees yet, unless you stay in the back or along the lake front. Make sure to request a site with trees.

We loved this campground partly because we have a very big rig. It was very easy to get around the property.

We had a horrible time at Riverside RV Park campground. The roads are very curvey and hard for big campers to get into the campground and the path leading to the campground is less than attractive.
