We would like to report on the “Paradise in The Woods RV Park & Campground” in Strafford, Missouri. We feel it is a very poor place to camp. We made a reservation for a weeks stay in June. We were told that it was a nice clean camp and there was plenty of room for a 34 ft. trailer.

When we got there we found that the spaces were so narrow that we could hardly get in and the sewer connection was about 12 to 18 inches from our neighbors front door. We were traveling with another couple who had the same problem with their site. Their sewer dump was UNDER their neighbors picnic table. Our site did not even have a picnic table. Needless to say, we were not happy with the place so we told the owners that we had changed our minds. They seemed fine with the idea so we left. We found out when we returned home that we had been charged for the entire week on our credit card. We called them and they were very ugly about it and said we had caused them to lose money since we planned to stay there a week. We would have been happy to pay the first night but didnt think it was fair to pay the whole week. Just wanted to warn people about this place.

We spent several day at the campground. This was such a pleasent stay. The owners are great people. I have looked at some of the concerns and all I can say is you can’t please some people no matter how hard that you try! My husband and I love the stay. We had no concern and wish we could have stayed longer! Ron that helps with the park was the nicest guy you could meet. I would recomennd this camp-ground to all. If your are looking for a place close to Springfield or Branson stop in and look it over. I assure you that you will not be disappointed. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We stayed here on Christmas break and we were going to be here again for a week during Feb. We picked up a 5th wheel we had purchased in KS and my son and family lives just down the hill from here. It was around 8:30 pm when we pulled in and the maintenance person helped us. We hooked up to elec. and my son and family came up to meet us. We were just leaving the truck hooked up because it was soooo cold out. My son took his family back home and came back up to get my husband and I to spend the night down there. The owner came out in a rage and was so hateful to my son and myself…said his lights were shining in other peoples trailers which they wasn’t and the engine running. I have never had to deal with such rudeness at any campground as I did with this man. I would suggest if you need a place to park your rig go up the road on the other side. There is another rv park and the owners were the nicest and most helpful people you could ask for. Needless to say, we left the other rv park and went to this one and I would go there anytime and that is where we plan on staying from now on.

This is the first RV park that we have ever stayed in with out 34 foot Winnebago Brave with 2 slide outs (July 4, 2010). We had plenty of room and a table near us. All the facilities were outstanding and the long-term residents were extremely friendly and nice to us. This park was extremely clean and the owner, Mary, bent over backwards to make us feel at home. I would not hesitate to buy land near this park because the owner is very particular about the residents there and wants a clean, respectable, park. I hope all our future experiences are 1/2 as great as the one at Paradise in the Woods.

We spent 2 days of our honeymoon (2009) here and loved it. The pool was clean and we made use of it. The shower house was rustic but clean, and there were alot of RV’rs there that were making use of the laundry facilities. The park was clean & neat. We have a small 2-piece travel unit so didn’t noticed any particular space issues but there were several “big boys” parked there. The parking spaces are a bit narrow for them with their numerous (and big) slide outs. The price was extremely reasonable. Maybe ownership has changed hands, don’t know. But we’ll be going back this year at some time I’m sure.

We stayed at Paradise In The Wood RV Park several times on our way to Texas for the winter and found it to be an extremely nice place, and the owners were as nice and kind as any place we have ever been in. As noted on the above comments, as we saw it there was not sewer or any other problem we encountered. I rate this place and it’s Godly people a “5″.

Can you tell me your other concerns about Paradise RV park. I noticed it was for sale and was considering looking into that further as a home and business. You can email me at abc66555@yahoo.com
Thanks

In response to the original post, does anyone else have any complaints about this location?

I am a land owner near this campground. This region is truly a paradise and needs to remain that way.

The sewer system is very important to me since I live down hill, and down stream from this place.

Also, there are other private interests in jeopardy that I\’m concerned about.

I\’m leary of creating a user name for legal reasons.

Any and ALL help will be appreciated!
