Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort - Lebanon, ME
My family has spent some time at Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort. The new owners are awesome! They have done wonders so far. They have upgraded much of the campground and have plans on doing much more! This is a very warm family type campground.
This campground has many things for the kids to do. My son played checkers with a staff member for an entire afternoon! They have a free 350 foot waterslide that is always a hit with my kids.Try Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort and you will be very impressed with the new owners! Jeff Dumont

I don\’t understand what these camper are saying and why, but my family enjoy the camping at Flat Rock and the weekend entertainment. we found the secuirty very friendly and they would say hi , the owners do get rid of any campers that start up right away which we found to be a plus. My children don\’t need to see or hear offensive language or how some campers act . We when to the old K & Q and seen alot of things that shouldn\’t go on anywhere, these owners are trying to make everyones time enjoyable. The owners were friendly to my family and my son even play with their son. The pools were clean every morning when we where there for my son wanted to be at the pool right when it open and we had to wait until they finish cleaning it. My only concern was the family\’s that though that the campground should also be babysitter . You must enjoy the time with your children and yes maybe there isn\’t much for the teenagers but there is not many campgrounds that do cater to them. And with the security following the teens maybe they were up to no good. Remember camping is to enjoy your family with. In closing people all have their own opinon. Try the campground before you believe any of these responds yourself. In closing we will be back and have a fun and enjoyable time.
My family and I just spent two weeks at Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort and we had camped there before when it was called \"Kings and Queens\" so we are familiar with the before and after. I have carefully read all of the reviews and I would like to know what your definition of a family means? Isn\’t it a group of related individuals parents and children?
I thought this campground was more family oriented before our recent visit which prior was King and Queens. I have to agree there is not much for children over the age of eleven.
The atmosphere was very negative and tense not pleasurable. My teenage son was bored, there are no more dances, He was bored after a couple of days in the rec hall and swimming. A band was playing and about a handful of people were sitting in the chairs they brought ,non of which were children.
I feel it is geared towards older and much younger crowds. So again what is your definition of a family. The previous owners I felt were geared towards all ages. If there is this much controversy on the Internet imagine what we felt over the last couple of weeks. Also I think we camped near seasonals on the smaller side by the field and they were loud until well after eleven and nothing was said, not that it bothered my husband or I but I find this ironic.
We also have camped at flat rock bridge resort a few times this summer (2007) and also we found the speeding to be too much. On one occasion a camper was actually spinning the tires in the campground and we brought the license plate number to the office and I believe it was the owner that replied. \"What would you like us to do we tell them when they check in it\’s 5 mph.\"It is very unsafe for the small children walking or on bikes. We also have a teenager who met some friends at the campground and security would actually follow them around in there golf carts and stare at them for hours. It made my teenage daughter very uncomfortable as well as us as parents. Did not like the atmosphere would not go back.
We recently camped there and we didn\’t have those experiences. Almost everyone respected the 5MPH speed limit inside the campground (although the public road that divides the campground needs to have the Lebanon police start issuing tickets to curtail speeding). There are plenty of activites offered, we found that very few people wanted to participate in the sports oriented ones. The activities varied by age ranges, some were for children only others for the entire family; there was a dance offered one of the nights for teenagers only. We had interfaced with the office and activity staff on many occassions, they were always pleasant and helpful.
If you have teenagers this is not the place for you! The new owners have done a away with teen dances. They also expect your children to keep to themselves and not socialize with the other kids.. Oh and beware of the speedway of Flatrock your youger ones might be hit by a car. The new owners do nothing about speeders.. There has been countless close calls. Also, if you like to be told to go to bed at 11:01 Then this might be the place for you.
Good Luck if you decide to go there anyway!

I just want to say I think the owners are rude and the security harrassed the young people. There is not much to do for teens anymore. Maybe if they had more going on for them they wouldn\’t need to follow them. the pools and rest rooms were dirty. I have been to many campgrounds and have been here when it was King and Queens and enjoyed it. I will not be going back here. Fom what I have heard they are losing alot of the seasonals…
