We just spent a long weekend at Flat Rock Bridge Campground. (formally known as Kings & Queens Court). This campground was recommended to us by many who were there in the past! We were very disatified. The facilities were dated and not kept up very well. The swimming pools and hot-tubs were very dirty. The youger staff was pleasent, but the management was useless especially when we told them our disatifaction! The campground has was alot of amenities such as 2 pools and hot-tubs. There was river access and a waterslide that was only open 5 hrs a day!

I would not recommend this campground, It has not been maintained, and seems to be going down-hill. Sorry!

I have been to King and Queens and also Flatrock Bridge Campground and Flatrock cannot compare to they way King and Queens used to be. There is nothing for kids to do anymore. The campground has there bible readings and Christian sing along but that is not what children want to do on vacations.

There is so much controversy over this campground. I have camped there and we had a great time and the security never “bothered” our family. Maybe if they were bothering you, you were bothering other campers. On thatscamping.com they have stopped taking comments from what are obviously past seasonals who are mad they got thrown out. It is too bad because my kids had a great time with the new owner who was working on the waterslide and joking around with everyone. Every year there is something new they have upgraded or added. This year it is a new pool. Check out other review sites, as this one lets any and all comments on it.

We recently spent two weeks up at Flat Rock Bridge and we had the opportunity to also camp at Kings and Queens a few years back.So we had experienced the before and after. My fourteen year old son was bored after the first couple of days. He swam in the pool, spent money in the arcade and not much into painting crafts in the craft shop. He played a game of golf with us, not much to do after that. I need to ask what is your definition of a family campground? Just curious because to me its a group of people related, parents and children of all ages. I have to say that before when it was Kings and Queens they geared it to all ages and parents. I feel back then it was more of a FAMILY CAMPGROUND . Never a problem with kids not having anything to do. It was a fun, exciting and for the most part relaxing place. If there is this much controversy on the web. I have to believe that the tense and unfriendly feelings we had up there were real. I cant say it was a memorable family vacation. Too tense and stressful. would not return there.

I rented a site also this past summer for a few weekends. I will not be going back. The owners were not nice. The pools were dirty. The wagon ride made me sick from the fumes. And the security was crazy. They were rude and did drive by the site and kept me a wake at night. The rest rooms are dirty and they no longer have dances. It was much better when it was Kings and Queens. I would not recommend it . I also hear alot of the seasonals are leaving because of the owners and the security.

We recently spent a week up there this summer and I know what you mean about the new owners. We have three children who spent some time and money in the rec hall. One of our daughters over heard the owner tell staff in the rec hall there is a fine line between being an employee and associating with the campers. He was told not to associate with the children except for on a business level. Again if our money is good enough to accept a little respect and friendliness would be nice in return. The campground security is definately a down fall since we spent a week there with another family we were side by side 4 adults 5 children a security personal came up to the adults at 10;45 and mind you quiet time is at 11:00 and whispered keep it down from about 5 feet away, we didn\’t hear him and asked what he said keep it down I don\’t want to come back here again very rudely.shined the flashlight in our faces and walked away. very very rude. Will not return

We camped at Flat Rock Bridge July 4th weekend and again Labor Day Weekend. I just got home and this was the first thing I had to do. My son, daughter in law and granddaughter camped there both times with us this year, along with two other familys. The campground it self is not bad. The pool was full of bugs during the July 4th weekend. I had to keep telling my granddaughter to keep her mouth closed while she was in the pool. It needed to be skimmed very badly. This should be a first thing in am before everyone gets up. The other complaint is the owners. We are older and have camped many places. The kids camped there when it was Kings and Queens and said management was more friendly. The owners never spoke, not even a hello either time we were there. This time my husband and I were in the store making a purchase and the owner was standing at the register and never spoke. My son said our 4 year old granddaughter tried to talk to him, and he acted like it bothered him. I don\’t feel they have to be best friends, but a hello, since we\’re spending our money would be nice.
Lastly, the security! I have never been in a place that has so much. I swear they ride by every 15mins. We felt like it was a prison camp. They have no problem telling kids to be quiet, but seem to ignore this quy who was there both times, with a big, blue diesel truck with two big stacts that has to ride around all the time with it, instead of walk. Talk about ignorant.
My husband and I feel Flat Rock Bridge would be a wonderful place if these things were corrected. We really have a problem handing over money to people who feel they can just ignore us. It\’s all the famlies like ours who support them. We won\’t be going back!!

We are seasonal campers here at Flat Rock and the new owners are doing the best in upgradeing and taken care of this campground. They have plans to do even more. My family enjoys Flat Rock very much and are very happy here. The restrooms are kept clean, and their is plenty to do. People need to remember this is NOW a FAMILY CAMPGROUND where the kids will have a fun time and if not no fault to the campground. Plenty to do and weekends are usally some theme.
