Twin Creeks Campground – Buffalo, WY
This is a very nice campground. We’ve been told that this campground was formerly a KOA. Some of the building do look like KOA buildings. All the facilities here are clean, modern and well maintained. They have a range of sites available, with plenty of room for big rigs. From low cost back-ins to standard [...]
Grand Teton Park RV Resort – Moran Junction, WY
I’ve found that this park is so run down it is amazing that they have any business. Grand Teton Park RV Resort is truely a case of the location brings them in. During our visit we found poorly maintained bathrooms, and a spa that was so “cruddy” that I feel it was unsafe. The pool was marginal. The laundry was [...]
Western Hills Campground – Rawlins, WY
There is a “dearth” of campgrounds along Interstate 80. I stopped at Western Hills Campground to wait out a harsh snow and wind storm. The hosts were very nice and let me have “late” checkout if I needed due to the weather and driving conditions. No landscaping, just a large gravel lot, with 30 and [...]
Sheridan/Big Horn Mountain KOA – Sheridan, WY
While this KOA campground was a convenient park to get to… it’s just off of the freeway, the smell from the dumpsite was the worst that I have ever smelled. It was so bad, you couldn’t open your windows to sleep. We were just there overnight and couldn’t wait to get out of the campground.
Ponderosa Campground – Cody, WY
Ponderosa Campground (http://www.codyponderosa.com) was a great place to stay. It’s conveniently located near downtown Cody, but was quiet, too. There’s tons of great things to do near the park, including Yellowstone National Park, Buffalo Bill State Park, the Buffalo Bill Dam, Buffalo Bill Museum, hiking, rafting, fishing, and hunting.
