There was something for everyone to do here. Dad went fishing, the kids went swimming, grandma sat on the chair swing on lakeside watching it all, while mom went on the bike trail. I was especially impressed with the clean restrooms. The owners are very helpful and kind. Check in was a breeze and the fun began.

The main road thru the park is asphalt but the sites themselves are on dirt. Not all the sites have sewer, but they offer 50/30/20 amps and the cable was wonderful with tons of stations to chose from. Bathrooms/showers sparkled and the staff was wonderful.

There was no Wifi, and as we were camped so deep in the woods, my aircard didn’t work either, but I understood from other campers they had no issue. One slight problem is that it’s right off I-90 and the traffic noise is constant and some sites were worse than others. I’m sure if you ask at the office, they will put you away from the noise if it bothers you.

Get directions because while it is easy to fine with them, without you might drive in circles. Take the Cle Elum Exit into town and turn right (south) at the second stoplight Oakes. Follow Oakes around and it will head right into the park. The office is on the left, you might want to pull into it before going into the park to register.

Amenities include heated pool, driving range, tennis/basketball/volleyball courts, indoor rec room, large banquet room, horseshoe pits, laundry, clean restrooms with hot water showers, convenience store. We used the banquet room for a dinner gathering during our stay, which was fun. All this is included in their rates, a deal to die for.

The park is always well-maintained, nicely trimmed green grass, clean restrooms, helpful & caring owners, long list of fun amenities, nice weather, and lovely park. We’re so happy to have found this place, perfect place to take a vacation and I’d recommend to all.

The biggest problem is they would not allow any visitors. We had relatives try to come visit us at our camp site and they would not even let them in even for a fee. They were just coming to visit and not staying and they still would not let them enter their property. Their solution was to meet at the public park down the road. You would think if you rent a spot you would be able to have people drop by to visit for a hour or so… but no way here!

We will never go back. Oh, and by the way… the sprinklers get your camp site wet so you need to put everything inside every night. I will try another location next time.

Most sites were occupied and empty sites were clean with exception of a few. Cable TV was limited to 20 channels. There was no WiFi in the park. We were told they were working on it but there was no deadline mentioned. No modem hookup either. They only had a pay phone available.

Propane pricing was higher than the local service station. They have no swimming pool available, and no other amenities. There was a sign posted in the mens bathroom that said the restrooms were a privilege and would be closed if someone continued to get water on the floor – in the shower area no less.

The tent site was closed for the season, not to open until summer. The cost of a nightly rate seems rather high compared to the amenities offered in this park which are rather poor. I would not recommend this park to anyone, and will not be coming back.

They have a nice area for bikers with the laundry and restrooms very close by. Being a female traveling alone I felt safe at this campground. I had a spacious site under big fir trees with a community fire pit, volleyball and horseshoe pits nearby. It was great to stretch my legs on the river trail.

What can I say other than it’s brand new, easy pull-thru sites for novice rvers like myself, tons of activities within the park and made a great place to stay while I explored the mountains, lakes, and rivers surrounding this resort. Thank you Toutle River RV Resort for a wonderful week.

The resort is immaculate, brand new and well landscaped. The staff is friendly and escort your rig to your site. The sites are spacious with grassy areas. Trees are scattered throughout the park. There are huge rock fire pits for large group gatherings and smaller fire pits and BBQ grills throughout the resort.

There is a store, pool, clubhouse arcade, spas, and saunas all under construction and due to open in the spring of 2010. They were getting ready to fill the pool with water the day we left.

Some of the amenities in the park include a nine hole disc golf course, bigfoot croquet,basketball,ping pong tables, volleyball, horseshoes, Fort Winnebago Playground, water forts (a place to have water fights),walking and biking trails, movies, and more.

The northern end of the resort has a huge rally field and an extremely large events pavilion. Next to the rally field a large playground and covered picnic shelter/karaoke stage. This area includes lots of picnic tables and a long banquet counter.

Nearby is a cooking and grilling center with large coolers, gas and charcoal grills, a sink and a beautiful river rock smokehouse they allow you to use. An enormous rock firepit is located in this area.

There is access to the Toutle River and Cowlitz River. You can walk or ride bikes down to the river. Did I mention fishing? Salmon and steelhead are the main attraction.

Mt Saint Helen’s Visitors Center is down the road about 7 miles and the Volcano itself is about 55 miles from this resort. The Spirit Mountain Highway is scenic and an easy drive. Stop by the Forestry Learning Center and Hoffstadt Bluffs with the final destination Johnston Ridge for the best view of the mountain. Coldwater Lake is nearby, so bring your canoe or kayak.

This resort is a great place to stay and will keep your family entertained on your next vacation.

This campground is a good place to learn to “dry camp” if you are not sure of yourself. I developed my “dry camping” skills and knowledge here. Although there are electrical hookups, they are minimal.

The spaces are dirt, and are haphazardly located along a hillside, in the trees, by a lake. The owner has divided the campground between “partying” and “peace & quiet.” You will be asked to specify when you register. I stayed in the “peace & quiet” section and found it relaxing. I wandered over to the “partying” section, and was glad I chose the quiet side.

I stumbled onto this park accidentally while trying to find a different park in August 2009. This resort is open from May thru September. I plan to do an annual sojourn here, just for the “get away from it all” aspect.

The campground has wide, paved roads and is nicely landscaped. The facilities are clean and well maintained. They have large pull-through sites. We have a 38′ Class A with bumpouts on both sides and had no problems at all. Each site has parking for a tow vehicle. The back-in sites include a concrete patio. They also have an overflow parking spaces throughout the campground for your extra vehicles or for guests.

The campground has game areas that include shuffleboard, volleyball, and horseshoe pits and playground. Amenities include 3 laundry rooms with washers/dryers, 3 shower facilities – handicap accessible, a nice pool and spa, a full service Mini-Mart open 7 days a week and a clubhouse/meeting room with a kitchen. They also a full service deli, which was very nice!

The campground office is open very early in the morning (5:30 AM) to around 8:30 at night. The staff plans lots of activities for the residents. There is an on-site propane station, and if you use “extend-a-stay” extra tanks, the staff will deliver replacement tanks if you put your empty one out. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only downer is the dust and wind, but that’s a Tri-Cities, Washington issue.

Rates are $31 a night (electric, water, sewer and cable) or $35 for a premium site (includes a telephone line)… a reasonable price in my opinion for what you get. They also had a “stay 6 nights and receive the 7th night free” deal when we were there.
