Spent two nights is this little oasis in the desert and really enjoyed the park.

Washington State Parks are always clean and neat and this one was no exception. Space 5, the one we chose was level but difficult to get into because the garbage cans were just opposite, but we made it. Be sure to get reservations because it is full during the summers and check out the sites carefully as few are level-level and some are really slopped.

While we were there signs indicated the lake water had an algae that was lethal to livestock and pets so no one was swimming, but we were told the fishing was fine.

Crow Butte is a great Campground and on my “keeper” list. Crow Butte is on a small island in the Columbia River, by the Umitilla National Wildlife Reserve, off Hwy 14. Once a state park, it was turned over to either a private corporation or county, not sure which… but it retains its great state park atmosphere.

We stayed here last October and shared the park with possibly 5 other rigs and there are 100s of spaces, each with electricity, water and sewer (no cable or Internet). The wildlife was spectacular, we saw deer wandering thru the park, elk on the hills above us, ducks, geese, etc…

There are swimming beaches for the kids. A word of warning… there are poisonous snakes in the area and all children need to have the “do not touch snakes” lecture.

We just visited Cape Disappointment State Park for our first time, last weekend in May *before* the Memorial Day weekend.  It was pretty full over the weekend but the weekdays were quieter.

We were so close to the ocean, it was really awesome.  Great kite flying by the way.  No cell reception at the campsite but if you go to the lighthouses or even the store in the park, you can get reception no problem.  TV reception was spotty… Astoria broadcasts a couple stations in old analog (yes, as in not digital).  Fox, NBC and ABC.  We were also able to pick up their HD PBS station most of the time.

As mentioned in other reviews, the park is big…lots of things to see, lots of trails, etc.  The bathrooms and showers are nice and clean, although the lights are on automatic timers that seem to shut off after 10 seconds of no motion.

No problems with our sewer hose… it’s towards the back of the site but we reached okay with a 20′ hose.  If we didn’t have 20′, we’d have been in trouble though, so have enough sewer hose available.  50A as well as 30 and 20, so no probs there.  Good water pressure, but we had a regulator to limit us to 50 psi, so not sure what it actually was coming out.

The store is cute and has typical camping supplies as well as convenience store items, so they probably have what you need in general.  The laundry is right next door.  We didn’t check it out but it looked nice and clean.

The pizza place in the park is open Thu-Sun only and the guy running the place is super nice.  It’s not at all what I expected…this is honest to goodness gourmet pizza and they have a few other things.  He did advise that you should put in orders early in the day if you expect to have dinner because it’s so popular they may sell out early in the day.

We looked at the tent and yurt sites and they looked nice too, so if that’s how you roll, you should be fine too.  All in all, it was a really nice 1st experience and we’ll definitely plan to return.  Sites 11-20 have nice beach access, but maybe I shouldn’t tell you that so we’ll have a better chance at reserving those.   They all offered decent privacy, but of course some more than others.

Pioneer Trails RV Resort is great!  There are trees all around the property. It’s super quiet here and very private.

This is a nice place to just sit back and relax.  They have nice wide spots. They also have some “super sites” that give you more room. The campground is also close to town. If being connected to the internet is very important to you, you may not want to stay here… the wi-fi seems to have poor coverage. The backup is a modem port in the store, available only when the store is open. On the other hand, if you don’t need the internet, I recommend this campground.

This past fall we stayed at the Seattle/Tacoma KOA down near the Boeing complex.

The camp sites are paved, but not necessarily level. The property has nice trees, my cat was entertained. The sites are kind of close together, I don’t know if this is typical for a KOA.

This campground is not bad for a couple nights passing through. On the other hand, you have to choose between free cable or free wireless. Apparently, you can’t have both. Wireless is great! My spot does have a cable hookup, I’m tempted to see what will happen if I hooked up the cable.

Prices are reasonable. I would stay here again.

We stayed one week at Lakeside RV Parkand regretted ever coming to this park. The older couple in the office were continually arguing amongst themselves and in front of my family – not very personable to the public.

While we were there we say litter all over the park, management in the office drinking coffee and working on computers (games) and the assistant nowhere to be found. We stayed here last fall as well as over the past few years. The grounds were always kept immaculate compared to the way it looks presently.

I would NOT recommend this park to anyone while the park is managed by these two – they don’t appear to be very good in dealing with the public.

I recently camped at Offut Lake Resort in Tenino with my children and grandchildren. It was a blast.

There was something for everyone to do here. Dad went fishing, the kids went swimming, grandma sat on the chair swing on lakeside watching it all, while mom went on the bike trail. I was especially impressed with the clean restrooms. The owners are very helpful and kind. Check in was a breeze and the fun began.

Whispering Pines is a nice, nice, nice rural RV park.  Set in mature trees and landscaping, this campground is more like a state park, with sites set in among towering pines. What I really liked is the privacy was better than most as sites are set so that you don’t look into your neighbors window or bump your head on their awning.

The main road thru the park is asphalt but the sites themselves are on dirt. Not all the sites have sewer, but they offer 50/30/20 amps and the cable was wonderful with tons of stations to chose from. Bathrooms/showers sparkled and the staff was wonderful.

There was no Wifi, and as we were camped so deep in the woods, my aircard didn’t work either, but I understood from other campers they had no issue. One slight problem is that it’s right off I-90 and the traffic noise is constant and some sites were worse than others. I’m sure if you ask at the office, they will put you away from the noise if it bothers you.

Get directions because while it is easy to fine with them, without you might drive in circles. Take the Cle Elum Exit into town and turn right (south) at the second stoplight Oakes. Follow Oakes around and it will head right into the park. The office is on the left, you might want to pull into it before going into the park to register.

Stars and Stripes RV Resort is a beautiful park with great customer service. The rv sites have 50/30/20amps with full hook-ups (water, sewer, electric). Their spacious back-in’s and pull-thru’s sites can accommodate 60ft plus with lots of trees for shade. Also has cabins, suite, and tent sites.

Amenities include heated pool, driving range, tennis/basketball/volleyball courts, indoor rec room, large banquet room, horseshoe pits, laundry, clean restrooms with hot water showers, convenience store. We used the banquet room for a dinner gathering during our stay, which was fun. All this is included in their rates, a deal to die for.

The park is always well-maintained, nicely trimmed green grass, clean restrooms, helpful & caring owners, long list of fun amenities, nice weather, and lovely park. We’re so happy to have found this place, perfect place to take a vacation and I’d recommend to all.
