Williamsburg KOA - Williamsburg, VA
The Williamsburg KOA is a small campground tucked comfortably away from the noise and traffic of the Williamsburg area but still close enough to all the attractions. We camped here this past summer for a week while we visited Busch Gardens and the surrounding Williamsburg area.
There’s a quaint grocery store and gift shop as you […]
King’s Dominion Campground - Doswell, VA
King’s Dominion Campground is located adjacent to Paramount’s King’s Dominion Theme Park and just off I-95 exit 98 in Doswell, Virginia. We stayed here for several days this past summer because it was close to King’s Dominion Theme Park. It was also our base for visiting the Williamsburg, Virginia area and Busch Gardens Theme Park.
Bethpage Camp Resort - Urbanna, VA
My wife and I took 3 of the grandkids with us to Bethpage Camp Resort. This is a wonderful campground. They have lots of things to do for everybody. They have a nice lake with a beach, and 2 swimming pools. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It is also just a few miles from the Chesapeake Bay.
Fredricksburg KOA - Fredericksburg, VA
We stayed here at the Fredericksburg KOA in a tent on August 7th. We were located in a nice wooded area. The facilities here were very clean and well maintained. They have a pool, but when we were there the water was very cold and the pool had seen better days. The park staff was very helpful and friendly.
Heritage Park Resort - Warsaw, VA
Heritage Park Resort is more of a winery then a campground. They have a nice pool and the fishing is not too bad in the river but they have nothing else including campers. We stayed the first week in August and there was no other campers during the week. The basketball court is in the middle of a overgrown field, and it looked like the tennis courts have been overgrown with trees and weeds for years.
New Point RV Resort - Mathews, VA
This was our third visit to New Point RV Resort. Previous visits in years past have been unremarkable except for the great beach. This time, we visited this campground for four days over a busy weekend mid July 2007. The staff is extremely friendly, professional and helpful.. a far cry from the rudeness we experienced with the office staff last year.
Cattail Creek RV Park - Skippers, VA
We stayed at Cattail Creek last fall on the way to Florida. It’s about 3 miles from I-95 exit 4 and just north of the VA/NC border. The sites are level, gravel with some have plenty of shade. The campground has about 60 sites, 20 or so of them are pull-thrus for bigger RVs.
The staff […]
Holiday Trav L Park - Virginia Beach, VA
Our group of 4 adults and 2 children were in Virginia Beach so that 3 of the adults could participate in a half marathon being held there. Holiday Trav L Park provided what we thought was a reasonably priced alternative to the oceanfront hotels associated with the race. However, the price quickly went up with […]
Holiday Trav-L-Park - Virginia Beach, VA
Holiday Trav-L-Park is a large, (over 1000 sites!) modern, well maintained campground with a friendly staff. Sites are mostly level with some shady. Although a bit expensive, you’ve got to check out their “supersites”… they are roomy pull-through sites with paved entries and exits. These sites feature a 60×12 foot (minimum) concrete pad with extended […]
Staunton Verona KOA - Verona, VA
OK, while walking around with the dogs, a guy from Texas, in a nice Class A (maybe a Monaco) with a reasonably sized tow vehicle gave me a couple of complaints about this KOA campground: The road in (off 11) is a little winding and tight for big rigs (there was little to no traffic […]
