We stayed at Cattail Creek this past fall on the way to Florida. It’s about 3 miles from I-95 exit 4 and just north of the Virginia/North Carolina border. Holiday Trav-L-Park is a large, (over 1000 sites!) modern, well maintained campground with a friendly staff. Sites are mostly level with some shady. We really like Newport News Park Campground; it’s very wooded, the sites are very spacious, and laid out in a loop, so the interior ones back up to a large empty space.
