We were at Cherrystone Resort in August.

The check in was fine. We had a golf cart and needed our insurance paperwork. They let us fax it to their office from our insurance representative. After that we were off. We found our site with no more problems than any other campground.

The pools were clean, snack bar was ok, even had to use the laundry. The machine took her money but was refunded with no hassel. We were here for five days and had no problems with the campground or staff.

I had read several negative reviews and was concerned, but when we got there we had no problems. I did notice the place does look dated but it looks like that is being worked on. Parents need to controll their kids, and some need to controll themselves. Other than that was a fine trip, will go back.

Our family has gone to Cherrystone for years with no problems until this year…

First, we had to make our reservations a couple of times because for some reason every time we called they did not have the reservation. We reserved a camper site and a tent site. We reserved the tent site for only 3 nights. On our second day we realized that they made yet another mistake with our reservation and it was for only 2 nights. We could either pack up and go home a day early or pack up our entire site and move to another site. We were told that the site we were on was reserved. So we packed up for hours and moved, waisting half of the day. When we left the next day there was still no one in the site they made us move from. We tried to speak to a manager.

I called today to speak to someone and just got a young lady who had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We always go to Cherrystone and because of this issue and they way it was handled we will never visit again. Good luck if you deside to stay there anyway.

We had a great time at Cherrystone Campground.

The showers and bathhouse very clean and well maintained. We stayed for six days. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We will stay there again.

This was our third visit to New Point RV Resort. Previous visits in years past have been unremarkable except for the great beach. This time, we visited this campground for four days over a weekend in June.

The staff is extremely friendly, professional and helpful. The grounds are hugely improved over our past experiences with better water quality and water pressure. The sites are clean and groomed, though some are small and limited by trees. We noted staff members checking the bathhouses almost hourly.

The pool area was great. The laundry room and arcade are clean. We spoke briefly with the management and learned they have many plans for improvements. We already scheduled a return visit for the end of this season.

We loved all the scheduled activities with just about everyone at the campground in attendance. This is a great campground and I would recommend it to my friends!

We stayed here at the Fredericksburg KOA in a tent this past fall. We were located in a nice wooded area.

The facilities here were very clean and well maintained. They have a pool, but when we were there the water was very cold and the pool had seen better days. The park staff was very helpful and friendly.

It’s located about 7 miles from I-95, exit 118. I would stay here again, and recommend it to anyone passing thru the area.

We stayed at Cattail Creek this past fall on the way to Florida. It’s about 3 miles from I-95 exit 4 and just north of the Virginia/North Carolina border. The sites are level, gravel with some have plenty of shade. The campground has about 60 sites, 20 or so of them are pull-thrus for bigger RVs.

The staff is friendly. Restrooms and showers are clean. It’s a neat, attractive and well maintained campground. Not much to do though, this seems to be more of an overnite stop for I-95 travelers.

Holiday Trav-L-Park is a large, (over 1000 sites!) modern, well maintained campground with a friendly staff. Sites are mostly level with some shady. Although a bit expensive, you’ve got to check out their “supersites”… they are roomy pull-through sites with paved entries and exits. These sites feature a 60×12 foot (minimum) concrete pad with extended 15×25 foot patio, fire pit (raised bowl type), stamped metal picnic table, attractive landscaping, and full hookup pedestal including cable TV. Some supersites can accommodate combinations up to 90 feet long!In season the beach trolley comes right into the park. They also have their own parking lot near the beach for beach goers. The campground is located about 3 miles south of the main beach area.

They also have 44 rustic cabins, 24-hour security, a bike path directly to the beach, 8 comfort stations, 3 dump stations, 6 playgrounds, 4 large pools, a very impressive mini-golf course, 3 camp stores offering gifts, groceries, and supplies, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes and recreation facilities throughout the park!

The campground has nightly musical entertainment by the main pool and at the Pavilion. They also have afternoon hayrides and outdoor movies at night… the list goes on.

This is a great campground with lot’s of amenities and things to do. Eastern Virginia is a vacation paradise, with beaches, theme parks, historic places, and shopping and Holiday Trav-L-Park is a perfect base for exploring the region.

Americamps KOA is a perfect stopover on your way up or down I-95. The campground is located just of I-95, exit 89 (Lewistown Road, VA802) about 10 miles north of Richmond in Ashland, Virginia.

The campground is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are approximately 150 sites, 33 full hook-up pull-thrus for larger rigs. The park is fairly shady with large trees scattered throughout. You’ll find the majority of campers here are just passing through, but that’s what this campground is all about… an easily accessible, clean, comfortable and secure park when you’re just passing thru the area. They also have Free cable TV and Free Wi-fi!

Americamps KOA has a small, but well stocked campstore with a limited selection of groceries and camping supplies. Amenities include a laundromat, nice pool, large pavillion, game room and playground.

The only negative… I-95 is fairly close to the campground so it gets to be a little noisy with the trucks going by at night.

We really like Newport News Park Campground; it’s very wooded, the sites are very spacious, and laid out in a loop, so the interior ones back up to a large empty space.

The showers are huge, but blackish in corners (toilet stalls, too). I don’t know if this is mildew or something else. There were no towels or dryers in the bathroom. They have newer washers and dryers (4 sets) at a nice price.

We’ve been here almost 3 weeks in October and it’s been very quiet. During the week, we can hardly even see other trailers. The park rangers drive thru several times a day. The lake (reservoir) is lovely.

Would LOVE to come here again. It’s only about 12 miles to Williamsburg.
