Shenandoah Hills - Madison, VA
This is the worst campground I have stayed at. We stay here in August 2008… the roads needed to be repaired and the grass looked like it was unmowed for weeks. They charge for use of the showers, There was work started on the campground all over but never completed.
When I checked in, we were checked […]
New River Trail RV Park - Fries, VA
We have stayed at New River Trail RV Park on numerous occasions this year and can honestly state that it is one of the nicest RV parks we’re ever stayed in. When we camped at other parks in the area we were always ready to leave after a couple of days. But there is just […]
Loft Mountain Campground - Shenandoah National Park, VA
This was our first destination campground as we toured the Appalachian Mountains for two weeks. Again, we arrived without reservations, but site choice and check-in was fast. The Park Ranger was very informative and helpful.
The campground is above average for a National Park. Mostly Pull-Thru’s capable of handling large units. The back-ins are all oriented […]
Walnut Hills Campground & RV Park - Staunton, VA
Walnut Hills Campground and RV Park is a beautiful quaint spot for the family. They have a newly remodeled pool, a nice game room, and plenty of activities for the kids and adults.
The park has a 2 acre fishing lake for the fishing enthusiast. Sites are nice and level. The campground is open all year […]
Cherrystone Camping Resort - Cheriton, VA
We rented a cabin at Cherrystone Camping Resort with A/C and a refrigerator. I wasn’t prepared for how close together the cabins were. They were all no more than 15-20 yards apart… and right on the road. Unfortunately we got a cabin on the corner of two roads and our picnic table and grill sat […]
Christopher Run Campground - Mineral, VA
Don’t bother staying at this campground. We found the park to be unkept, with small sites, and one old bathhouse with hot showers for 200 sites (and lots of tenters… so showers are in big demand.)
Outdoor Resorts - Virginia Beach, VA
We just returned from out third stay here and really enjoyed it! Outdoor Resorts is a beautifully maintained RV park located right on the bay… and absolutely gorgeous sunsets!
This resort doesn’t have all the hype associated with families and kids. There are no planned activities, no themed weekends, no special holiday events… this is just […]
Fancy Gap KOA - Fancy Gap, Virginia
It was still early in the season when we arrived at Fancy Gap KOA so not all of the facilities were open. Not that anyone would want to go swimming in April as cold as it was.
We loved the layout of this park… each row of sites is higher up than the first row in […]
Front Royal RV Park - Front Royal, VA
A little off the beaten path… We were passing thru the area and decided to get off I-66 and check in for the nite. We had heard that this particular KOA was rather nice.
Got off I66 (exit 6) and traveled south on US Route 340 several miles. About a mile past the Shenandoah National Park entrance was the entrance to Front Royal KOA. We’re here!
Williamsburg KOA - Williamsburg, VA
The Williamsburg KOA is a small campground tucked comfortably away from the noise and traffic of the Williamsburg area but still close enough to all the attractions. We camped here this past summer for a week while we visited Busch Gardens and the surrounding Williamsburg area.
There’s a quaint grocery store and gift shop as you […]
