Tiki Tom’s RV Park – Galveston, TX

Tiki Tom’s is a really great RV park. It is quiet and safe.

The park manager patrols regularly and makes sure the rules are observed. It is right on the water and the fishing is great. Most of the guest stay for more than a month. I never worry about anything while I am here.

I would recommend to anyone.

This is a newly rebuilt, clean, peaceful park with beautiful landscaping and concrete spaces. I have stayed here on two occasions for several months. Most of the people stay here several months at a time. Some were there when I left the first time and were still there when I came back.

It is located along IH45 4 miles from old downtown Galveston. It has easy off and on access to Galveston or Houston, yet the traffic noise is negligible. The management personnel are friendly, accommodating and available to assist you at any time. Free internet service and laundry machines. Try it, you will like it.

On The Beach RV Park – Port Aransas, TX

We love On The Beach RV Park… it is small therefore pretty quiet. The landscaping is really quite beautiful with lots of flowers and even grass. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The sites are all full hookup (including cable tv) and they even have tent sites. The restrooms are locked at all times and need a key, but that is understandable considering how close they are to the beach. On nights when it isn’t so hot, you can keep your windows open and hears the waves, the park is that close to the water.

Starlight RV Resort – Spicewood, TX

Starlight RV Resort in Spicewood, Texas is a fabulous facility. The campground has panoramic 360-degree views of the Texas Hill Country from highpoints on the property. While we were there we witnessed great sunsets and constant pleasant breezes. The campground is very quite and serene.

Starlight RV Resort is an ideal spot to call home while exploring Central Texas. They are located near many recreational attractions – Lake Travis, Austin and Marble Falls, to name a few.

Willis RV Park on Lake Conroe – Willis, TX

Willis RV Park on Lake Conroe was very clean and well kept. I was very impressed with the management and staff.

The campground is located directly on the lake and provides a free boat launch for guests. If thats not enough they have the lowest price on the lake. This is an excellent RV park for a great place for fishing and boating.

Oceanside RV Park – Magnolia Beach, TX

We booked our stay Oceanside RV Park for three nights only to find out that our reservation had been given away, without notice, to another RV’er that was booking for more nights. We were told that this was park policy but were not told several days earlier when we booked our reservation even though we offered a credit card to ensure that the reservation was held. Bob, the park manager, said that a credit card was not necessary and assured us the reservation would be held. Fortunately, we were able to locate a space at another campground nearby and what a find it was!

Pros: Tiki Tom’s RV Park has great waterfront and fishing piers, and it’s clean.

Cons: Road noise (too close to IH-45), proximity to scruffy fish camp down the road, and the sites are a little tight, and pricey for what you get. They also have no pool and, in my opinion the manager is rude. They are really big with rules and regulations far beyond the usual RV park norms of behavior. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Lakefront Lodge – Zapata, TX

We stayed at Lakefront Lodge this winter (2010) while traveling through South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.

We had a very nice full-hookup site that was large and level with nice views of Falcon Lake. There’s a boat launch right in the park which makes it a great place to boat and fish. There’s some truly great bass fishing to be done here… and we saw many fisherman return with some of the largest bass you’ve ever seen.

Next time, we’re bringing our rods… and staying longer.

Bentsen Palm RV Park – Mission, TX

Bentsen Palm RV Park is a very highly rated campground by all the usual: Good Sam, TL, etc. We found it to be beautifully landscaped and very clean. There’s a large dog park and a nearby birding park which added to our interest.

We found this to be a mostly motor home/giant 5th wheel park of winter Texans who appeared to come for the whole season each year. There wasn’t much room for newcomers–social circles are pretty tight.

The thing that we liked least is not the park’s fault, but an issue for us. The park is very close to the border and Border Patrol helicopters flew at night frequently awakening us, back and forth. The newspaper was full of stories about shootings and there were tales in the park of having to go to the movie theater in the am so as to avoid your truck being stolen.

I suppose if you wanted to stay within the gates, wear ear plugs to bed, and venture out only in groups during the daylight this isn’t a problem. We like the Tex-Mex culture a lot–but this patch of ground seems to be under seige.

Country Place RV Park – Cut and Shoot, TX

My family and I visited Country Place RV Park recently and had the best time. The park owners are friendly and always kept the park clean. It was a great place to bring the family. We enjoyed all the park amenities, including the pool, DVD rental and hiking trails.

Country Place RV Park is definitely a place where we will come back to on a regular basis.
