Brown Mountain Beach Resort & Camping - Lenoir, NC
I visited Brown Mountain Beach Resort for years. I and my family decided it would be a wonderful place for us to rent a permanent campsite. The owners at that time were very kind and accommodating. It was the best $700.00 investment our family has made until 7 or 8 years ago when the campground changed ownership. The park has increased the full hook ups and the permanent lot rent every two years and now the spots are as high as $2400.00 per year.
Pinehurst RV Resort - West End, NC
Horrible is the best description of my stay at this campground.
I was in the area for a dog show and when I made my reservations I told them I would have show dogs with me. I was only told there was a limit of 3 dogs and no other special instructions regarding pets. On arrival I was told the dogs couldn’t be unattended. I was then taken to a spot with no trees or shade. Bear in mind I am camping in a pop up. There was supposed to be a pet area but it was never shown to us and is not on the site map.
French Broad River Campground - Asheville, NC
My husband and I booked 4 nights at French Broad River Campground based on what I consider a misleading internet ad. We found that the campground was dirty and very run down.
The river was beautiful and it is a shame that the campground has been allowed to become so run down. I can not even […]
High Rock Lake Marina and Campground - Lexington, NC
High Rock Lake Marina and Campground is a great family campground. The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. They also provide FREE cable and wireless internet! The park offers a pool, boat ramp, boat rentals, and a snack bar… you need it they got it!
We spend our entire vacation there every year! […]
Interstate Inn RV Park - Weldon, NC
Interstate Inn RV Park is located a tenth of a mile to the east of I-95, exit 173, and behind the Interstate Inn. This campground is a good bargain for an overnight stay. 18 bucks gets you cable (and HBO) plus good fast wireless.
There are three rows of sites… get into the first or second […]
Cape Woods Campground - Buxton, NC
Cape Woods Campground is run down and poorly managed. Don’t camp here unless you like to have your camper/tent filled with ants and the stench of poorly maintained sewers. Also, they claim that the beach is within a mile of the campground, but it’s actually closer to two miles away and you must follow busy Rt 12 to get there.
Asheville East KOA - Swannanoa, NC
Asheville East KOA is a nice campground located in the heart of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, about 15 minutes from historic Asheville. This KOA has an absolutely super staff. The campground has very clean restrooms and lots to do for kids.
Amenities include a Pavilion, a seasonal snack bar, and wireless Internet. Also, they have […]
Cape Hatteras KOA - Rodanthe, NC
Overpriced camping! Bad weather was approaching and Ocean Waves Campground down the street was booked up. We were quoted $50 just to pitch a tent. We rented a cabin for $81 a night. There cabins have no air conditioning. The cabin’s ceiling fan/light was broken and the floor had an ant infestation. We voiced our concerns and were more or less ignored.
Davidson River Campground - Pisgah NF, NC
I live in Western North Carolina and often refer visitors to Davidson River campground. However, after camping there myself this past weekend, I will not be referring anyone there again.
The campsites are clean, well-kept, and in a great location, but the staff/hosts were extremely unfriendly, rude, and even hostile at times, from the time we […]
Green Acres Camping Resort - Williamston, NC
When you need a break from I-95, here is a great place. It’s a little off the highway from Rocky Mount but absolutely worth the detour. With sites that cater to tents, pop-ups, trailers, and the biggest Class A, this place is great.
Green Acres is family operated and they live on-site. All the family members work hard to maintain the expansive property. The camp store has all the basics and the game room is well equipped to entertain the young. There are two clean swimming pools and a nice pond that offers fishing and paddling.
