Sands of Time Campground was recommended to us by a friend. The park is located in old Avon Village away from all the hustle and bustle of Hwy. 12. The sites are large with full hook ups (50amp service) & free cable TV. It is very quiet and clean and the campers are all […]

This is just another National Park campground. I’m only including this in my list of reviews because the place is not very big-rig friendly. Our trailer is 25′ and we had a bit of challenge getting comfortable. For B’s and C’s and poppers, I recommend it. This is a nice rest stop along the Blue […]

This is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to post a negative review. We were in North Carolina on vacation and decided to look around for a nice family campground while in the area of Winston Salem. Dan River campground seemed to look great from all the things we saw on the […]

If you’re traveling I-95, Sleepy Bear is conveniently located off exit 14, just south of Lumberton, North Carolina. We camped there several weeks ago on our way south to Florida.
The park was clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly. Sites are level, paved and comfortably sized. There seems to be a little road noise […]

This KOA is located about 18 miles south of Roanoke Rapids and 16 miles north of Rocky Mount, about 1/2 west of I-95 exit 154.
The park is clean and well maintained with both shady and sunny sites and level pull throughs in a quiet country setting. This KOA is a great halfway stop on your […]

We took our family this past Thanksgiving holiday to Cherokee KOA and it was just a huge mistake! Definitely not worth the $150 a night we paid for a kottage! The kottages are tiny… barely space for a couple. We were a family of 4 and we felt crammed the whole time! Plus it rained 2 of the 4 days we were there and the cabin had a leak in the kitchen that ruined most of our food supply. We reported it on the first day but it happened again on the second day… and there was never an offer to compensate the cost or even an apology for that matter.

I visited Brown Mountain Beach Resort for years. I and my family decided it would be a wonderful place for us to rent a permanent campsite. The owners at that time were very kind and accommodating. It was the best $700.00 investment our family has made until 7 or 8 years ago when the campground changed ownership. The park has increased the full hook ups and the permanent lot rent every two years and now the spots are as high as $2400.00 per year.

Horrible is the best description of my stay at this campground.
I was in the area for a dog show and when I made my reservations I told them I would have show dogs with me. I was only told there was a limit of 3 dogs and no other special instructions regarding pets. On arrival I was told the dogs couldn’t be unattended. I was then taken to a spot with no trees or shade. Bear in mind I am camping in a pop up. There was supposed to be a pet area but it was never shown to us and is not on the site map.

My husband and I booked 4 nights at French Broad River Campground based on what I consider a misleading internet ad. We found that the campground was dirty and very run down.
The river was beautiful and it is a shame that the campground has been allowed to become so run down. I can not even […]
