We love this campground! It’s so clean and the staff is very friendly. They have immaculate laundry rooms and plenty of campwide activities from golf cart parades to Hawaiian parties. Clean pools and nice camp store.

The park is extremely clean and the pond is great for fishing for bucket mouths. This will be our third season here and we will be here for a long long time to come. There are grocery stores and also a Wal-Mart and Home Depot very nearby as well as the Racino gambling casino in Saratoga about 40 minutes away. What more could you ask for?

I rate this campground 5 stars and recommend it to all my friends!

Last month we had one of the most enjoyable camping weekends in a long time at Lake George Escape. The staff was friendly and courteous. The grounds and facilities were clean and well maintained. Our site had full hookups and was comfortably large.

They have a very nice restaurant “Cafe Alfresco” centrally located in the middle of the property with very good food at reasonable prices. They offer all kinds of activities including miniature golf, canoeing, river tubing and more. Nice pool! Several nights a week they have a DJ and line dancing lessons.

Lake George Escape is easy to get to from I-87 (the Northway) and is convenient to Lake George and nearby attractions, there’s simply no better place from which to enjoy all that the Lake George area offers.

Bring your bug spray… about the only annoying thing about this place is the mosquitoes. They were brutal.

This is another very nice KOA campground located in a great hillside country setting about 8 miles north of Cooperstown NY.

The park is clean and well maintained. Interior roads are gravel. Sites are fairly level and most are in open areas with a few shade trees. This is a great campground for larger rigs because the sites are comfortably large.

Many folks come here to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame, but there’s lots more to do around this quiet campground in the foothills of the Adirondacks. Camp here, and you’re just a couple miles from Lake Otsego, where you can rent boats and cast for bass. A Glimmerglass State Park trail leads to a grand overview of the lake and wooded hills.

The Leatherstocking Theatre and Glimmerglass Opera provide first-rate entertainment. Get a hands-on picture of farming in the mid-1800s at The Farmers Museum. You can still get a taste today, thanks to the Amish families who make their way to the campground by horse and buggy for Saturday bake sales in season. The pool, game room, banana bikes and hayrides also offer campers plenty to do. It all adds up to a full day, capped by a lovely sunset in the hills.

We’ve stayed here several times and plan on another weekend here this fall!

Greenwood Park is located 8 miles west of I-81 from exit 8, Whitnet Point. The park is well maintained with a nice lake and sand beach for swimming and modern playgrounds. Six miles of walking trails wander throughout the park.

The campground features 50 wooded sites with 30-amp electric, paved pads, and water spigots to fill your tank. We didn’t see any units larger than 30′ during our weekend stay, mostly tents and small to medium sized trailers. During summer weekends the campground is a bit hectic with weekend warriors, but the park security does a good job keeping the peace. During the week, this is a great stop over for I-81 travelers looking for a couple quiet nights off the road. There are no attractions in the area so there’s nothing to do but enjoy the natural setting of the park.

Credit Cards are not accepted, so have cash or check ready. Sites are $18/per night with electric, not bad. Reservations are accepted, but are not site specific. If you arrive without a reservation, and the sites are full, they will let you stay in the parking lot near the beach for free, but only one night.

The website is www.gobroomecounty.com with maps and contact information.

This Adirondack RV resort park has everything you want in an RV/camping resort – sunny sites or treed sites depending on your preference. The park can accommodate up to 40 ft. motorhomes and has full hook-ups. It also provides cabin rentals that are really nice.

We had had no problems with aircard access, cell phone problems (we have Verizon for both) and open sites receive satellite service just fine.
The park has river access, a pool, pavillion, store, children’s play area, entertainment, horseshoes, kid’s game room, etc. The restrooms are immaculate and the staff are always there to help.

The location of the resort is great as well as you are close to Lake George and not far from Saratoga, Lake Placid, Schroon Lake, Montreal, and Lake Champlain.

The two “best features” of the park are Linda and Leroy who manage it every season. They not only keep it in tip-top shape, but are two of the nicest and most generous and accommodating people you could ever meet. They both make your stay a delight.

While the campground is not a new one, it certainly is a lovely one and improvements are being made as we speak to update it and improve it.

We definitely would recommend this campground to families, couples, retirees. There are amenities for every age and every taste at Adirondack Adventures Schroon River Resort.

Treman is a quaint little State Park located south west of Ithaca. It features a Gorge Trail, and is near two other State Parks with similar trails featuring hundreds of waterfalls. The Ithaca area has Cayuga Lake, several Fingerlakes Wineries nearby, two Colleges, and many unique shopping and dining experiences.

The campground itself is quite small with very few amenities. The Electric sites are very tight, but the Creekside sites are mostly large and grassy with some shade trees. Very few sites can handle anything bigger than 30′. Several basic Cabins are available as well.

We enjoyed the peaceful nature of our weekend visit. Being so close to the two Colleges, we were expecting to hear some loud parties. We were pleasantly surprised. The few students that were there were having a good time without being disruptive.

The area is worth the time if you’re traveling New York, and Treman State Park is a good base.

Kring Point State Park sits on a Peninsula at Goose Bay on the Saint Lawrence River. The landscape is rocky, rugged and beautiful. The village of Alex Bay is only six miles away providing easy access to the Uncle Sam Boat tours. There’s so much to do in the area, our campsite was just a second thought.

The Facilities are in great shape and well cared for. The cabins and tent sites provide the most privacy and water front. RV sites are a bit tricky. We had to drive through another site to access ours because our trailer couldn’t clear the rocky outcrop at the site entrance. Small trailers will have no problem. Big Fivers and Motorhomes may consider Keewayden State Park nearby with level, grassy sites.

If you travel by tent, Kring Point can be paradise for you. Most sites include Tent Pad, Privacy, and fantastic water access. Canoes, Kayaks, and small motorboats will enhance your experience. The fishing is great, license required, but you can keep what you catch!

If you’re using Reserve America, don’t be fooled by the map. It can be very deceptive. Everything inside the outer loop is undesireable, waterfront in the outer loop are generally unavailable. The First Loop near the beach is best, almost any site there is great.

The Boat Ramp is good with ample trailer parking with limited dock space. You can enjoy Goose Bay’s flat water, or go out in the River, depends on your boat. Be prepared to listen to some parties. Enforcement of quiet rules is a bit slack, like most NY State Parks.

In a normal frame of mind, I’m leary of municipal campgrounds. Since I was already familiar with the area, we decided to spend some time here. The park is public with sports fields, boat ramp, playgrounds, and pavillions. There is no dividing line between day use and campground, but it is not a problem.

The entry and some sites are paved, the restrooms and showers are maintained quite well. The park is immaculately clean and mowed grass with giant old hardwood trees scattered around. Hookups can be a bit backwards in some sites but all utilities are in good shape. There are no sewer hook ups at your site, only two way service. The dump station is free to campers, $5 otherwise. The $15 nightly fee makes this place a bargain.

The village is a mile away and features boutique and antique shops with a nice mix of restaraunts and pubs. The local residents are very friendly, and quite proud of their little village. A trip to the cemetary on top of a mountain is a moving experience. Visit the grave of the Indian girl and take in a beautiful view of the village and the Susquehanna River.

Access to the park is easy from Route 17 for rigs of all size. There are a few warnings here. The pull-thru sites can accomodate any rig, but are a bit close for my taste. Other sites are just gigantic! The waterfront sites have a nice view of the river, but little access. The highway across the river is a constant noise. If you venture out at night bring a good flashlight because there is an extensive skunk population that is not afraid of you. Don’t leave food or garbage out at night, you will have stinky visitors.

No reservations here, just first come, first served. Pick a site and self pay. It’s open year around!

We had an excellent camping experience at Lakeside Campground. The owners are amazing. The park is wheelchair friendly, and they have many planned events.

This is a great campground for families of all types. They have a variety of activities… Swim in their private four acre lake or rent a peddle boat, canoe or rowboat for a tour of the lake. There’s an 8 foot climbing wall in the lake. You can fish for bass, bluegill, pickerel and bullhead. They also have tennis and basketballcourts, horseshoes, volleyball and badminton. If you’re into hiking or biking, two miles away is Hawkins pond, a county nature preserve, which has 3 levels of hiking trails. The back roads around the campground will let you cycle through some beautiful rolling hills and farmland.

For kids, there are a number of activities to keep them entertained. The swimming area is sanded and slopes gently so that little children can play or swim in comfort or play with the Little Tykes toys which boarder the beach. There’s also a mini-train with free rides around the lake for the little ones.

This campground is a great base for day visits to Cooperstown’s Baseball Hall of Fame, Corning Glass Center, Binghamton and its 6 turn-of -the -century carousels (free rides), Scranton with its Lackawana Coal Mine tours and the live railroading exhibition at Steamtown USA.

I have to say it was the best 4th of July I have ever had.

The campground has a lot to offer for everyone. The staff is wonderful and we were first time campground campers and felt right at home and they were very friendly. My husband and I have already planned a 10 day family vacation there it was so wonderful.

Thank you to all the staff make sure when you stay there you say “hi” to Eddy and Pat. They are great. My son really loved them. Have a great time I know you will!
