Ely KOA is fine for an overnight stop. There is plenty of room to maneuver and facilities were adequate. Some with bigger rigs might have difficulty, so I would call if your over 40 foot.

The office staff was okay, not overly friendly but that may have just been her personality. I was impressed with the cable, lots of channels and pretty good reception. WiFi was fine for the price. We were there in mid November and it was cold, woke up to frost on every thing. We didn’t hook up the water and glad we didn’t as might have froze. There was no one there to help us with propane when we pulled out and that was a bummer.

If your coming in on Hwy 93, you won’t have any problem finding it, its on the west side of the highway just south of town. On the other hand, if your coming in on Hwy 6, turn south on 93 where Hwy 6 T’s and it’s about a half mile down the road.

Canyon Trails RV Park – Boulder City, NV

Canyon Trails RV park is a nice, clean, landscaped, paved campground, with friendly and helpful staff.

We were there in mid November and I was glad that I had made reservations as it was full. Spaces are wide enough for us as we don’t have slides but suspect that might be a issue with others. The only real problem we had was we couldn’t find the cable connection as it was out of sight under the gray box. Once the neighbor came and showed us where it was, all was well. Also I couldn’t find the garbage but DH found it someplace.

All and all, I would stay again.

Sams Town RV Park – Las Vegas, NV

Sam’s Town RV Park is a large campground with 500 sites, paved streets and gravel pads.

All of the sites are full hook-up, including cable TV. Mostly of the sites are side-by-side hook-ups but the sites don’t have picnic tables or fire pits. The pull-thru sites are a comfortable size. The property and facilities were clean and very well maintained. The restrooms, showers and laundry facilities were spotless. They also have swimming pools and Jacuzzis, pet runs, a BBQ area

The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have shuttle service to the casino which is open 24/7, with bowling, dancing and great restaurants including the all-you-can-eat Firelight Buffet.

Silver City RV Resort – Minden, NV

Silver City RV Resort is clean and the sites are easy to pull through. There are 206 full hook-up, 35′ wide pull-through sites, with telephone and cable TV. Sites have a level concrete area for your rv next to a crushed stone area with a picnic table

They have a very nice covered swimming pool with spa, a cozy club house, with fireplace and fitness center, playground, a large laundry and an arcade with slot machines. They also have a very nice, well stocked grocery store. The property and all the facilities are very clean and well maintained.

There’s lots of attractions nearby too. Rates are reasonable… we paid $35 for a very nice site. They also have Good Sam, AAA and AARP discounts.

Angel Lake RV Park – Wells, NV

We went to Angel Lake RV Park in Wells for a week not knowing what to expect in the area. We were there in early April and the weather was colder and wetter than normal and because of the weather we weren’t able to see some of the area.

There are three casino’s nearby, the best being Flying J and Loves’. There isn’t much to do in town. They had an earthquake the year before and it did a lot of damage.

The campground is clean as are the bathrooms and laundry room. The owners, the Wrights are a great family and enjoyable to talk with. They made our stay a good one and we would stop there again.

Beatty RV Park – Beatty, NV

Beatty RV Park is located just north of the mining town of Beatty, Nevada, and about two hours north of Las Vegas. Beatty is 6 miles from the north enterance of the Death Valley Park, also 20 minutes north of the Armogosa Sand Dunes. The park had the feeling of old Nevada.

The Beatty RV park has large pull-thru sites as well as 50 amp service. We found the on site staff to be friendly and informative. The bathroom are clean and adequate. Also on site is a large recreation room with 2 TV’s and a large selection of videos. The Wi-fi service was included in the nighly rate and connected instantly.

The park property backs up to BLM (Federal Government Bureau of Land Management) land for those wishing to go rock hounding or mountain biking.

We would recommend the park to those traveling US-95 thru Beatty Nevada.

Destiny Oasis RV Resorts – Las Vegas, NV

This is a very well maintained park despite it’s size… over 700 sites! The Destiny Oasis RV Resort is located just south of the strip, past the airport and next to the Interstate. Despite it’s location, it wasn’t overly noisy although some might consider it a nuisance.

We consider this RV park to be one of the best maintained we have stayed at. The grass was green (watch out for those sprinklers!) and everything was neat and clean. The showers and bathrooms were some of the largest I’ve seen… very clean too! This campground has an excellent store with plenty of groceries, food and RV supplies. The staff was very helpful and offered us suggestions for things to do with the kids and tons of places to eat. They have very nice pools too, including one for adults only. There is a free van service to the casinos and plenty of other amenities round out the features of this RV park.

On the downside… it was crowded and there were too many “permanent” campers, which always takes the wind out of my vacations. It’s hard to get into camping mode when you’re surrounded by people who have set up permanent amenities for themselves. Nothing against them, I may be one some day. It just dampens the experience.

Iron Horse RV Resort – Elko, NV

I feel that Iron Horse RV Resort is over-rated by being in connection with Hilton. The sites are made of sand and our site was very uneven. It is like a sand parking lot. The trains are going by all night long and rattled our windows… and horns blowing. Do not count on sleeping at all. There are tumble weeds floating by. The price was $45.00 per night for our small camping camper. From one Rv’er to another, keep on moving.

Fallon RV Park – Fallon, NV

This park was recently purchased by new owners. The store was remodeled a bit and is nice. The park however is not. Most of the trees are dead and in need of trimming. The water pressure is quite low most of the time and tastes and smells bad. The septic system plugs up regularly and the sewage leaks to the surface and smells bad. The concrete roadways are broken and have chunks falling out of them. Many of the concrete pads are cracked and not level.There are too many commercial trucks in the park and these are allowed to park in vacant spaces, this is noisy at times like a truck stop. On several occasions the bathrooms were not clean.

Winnemucca RV Park – Winnemucca, NV

This is a great campground, right off I-80 and between Reno and Salt Lake City. The park has mostly full hookups. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, a pool, and campstore. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Their prices are great too. Sites are gravel and fairly level, some drive thrus . Some sites are in the shade. There are several casinos and stores nearby. This campground does seem to fill up by 6 pm. It’s a perfect place to go for the night. This is a Good Sam campground.
