The laundry was large with 6 washers and 6 dryers. The wi-fi was great. We had 50 amp service with water and sewer. The owners were friendly and helpful. We had great cable. There was a dog walking area away from the campsites that was well maintained and people cleaned up like they should.

My friends and I stayed at Virginia City RV Park for 3 nights over the 4th of July holiday.

This beautiful campground was neat and clean, with wonderful showers and facilities. It was up in the hills of Virgina City, but not far from the city. There was lots of fun things to see in each of the restored buildings, and rides around the city were available for a modest price. There was also a train ride to Nevada City, about a mile away, which had several more buildings and a fun restaurant. On the 4th, we were even able to enjoy a fireworks display right from our campground!

The owner of the park was great! He was very helpful in showing us things to do and places to see, and he runs a family oriented campground. There is no obscene yelling or late-night noise or music. It is a wonderful place to relax and stay for several days, and I highly recommend it to other campers!

Virginia City RV Park is located .5 miles east of the rustic village of Virginia City. It’s situated well off the road and is therefore quiet. It’s owned and operated by a middle aged husband and wife team.

The campground is well-maintained and the restrooms and showers are clean. I have been staying here since the current owners bought it in 2004, for about a week around Memorial Day, and been very happy every year. For the history buffs, the area is rich in the gold mining years of the 1860′s.

The whole area is fun and interesting and the Virginia City RV Park added to my visit in a pleasing way.

Mountain Meadow RV Park has a pleasant, laid-back, park like atmosphere. It’s actually one of the nicest parks we have visited this year. This campground feels like you’re at a state park. It’s built on a hillside, and there are lots of trees and shade for most of the sites.

The interior roads are gravel and the individual sites are comfortable and private. If you have a larger rig, you may have some trouble navigating through the campground because some of the hills are a little steep. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table.

Amenities include a stocked rainbow trout pond, very well maintained laundry room, hot showers and rest rooms, and a dump station. They have a really nice gift shop and well stocked camp store. Also horseshoes and a small playground. They also have free wi-fi. The campground is handy to attractions in the area too!

They offer discounts for AAA and Good Sam Club members, but if you’re not a member of either, ask for your 10% Internet discount.

Rates are reasonable… $38 for full hookups, $35 for water and electric, and $55 for camping cabins. By the way… thet can no longer accommodate tents and they do not allow “loud” motorcycles.

This is a simple campground in the woods that can host a variety of functions. Camping spots are all on grass, may or may not be level. Sites, which consist of both pull through and back in, are rather close together. However, there weren’t many there when I stayed, so not bad.

The electric poles are either 50 amp or 20 amp, so if you are on a 30 amp cord, you will need an adaptor. Warning, the 20 amp connection is upside down, so your cord will have to be “bent back.” I did detect a WiFi, which I used (and it worked for my purposes), but I don’t know if the WiFi belongs to the park.

They have decent restroom, shower, and laundry facilities. You check in at the restaurant. Price was $30 before taxes. I felt $30 was a bit overpriced for what you get. However, I must recommend the adjoining restaurant. Excellent, world class food for a small restaurant. Dessert included in the meal price.

The park was $48 before Good Sam discounts and taxes. The pull-through spots are “side by side,” agree with other reviews about the “chumminess” of the sites. Let’s just say, the Travel Trailer next to me had to park their car under my awning. If you don’t like the “closeness,” take a back-in, you get a “smidge” more room. At my site, I had to use 30 feet of sewer hose.

Landscaping was well taken care of. The laundry, showers, and restrooms were clean. The pool was only five feet deep, ok for children. The Wi-Fi was secured with a password. Once “non-use” is detected, the Wi-Fi automatically logs you out and you have to log back in.

On check in, the park had a rule that you had to show picture ID (and they wrote it down). Even though the rule said “picture ID” they insisted on the driver’s license. I didn’t have an issue with showing it, I had the issue with them writing the license number down. I finally got them to consent to my passport, as I felt there was less potential for “mis-use of the information.”

Black Rabbit RV Park is located on the north side of this small town on the Bitterroot River along Hwy 93. Many of the sites have trees and look out on the woods along the river. There are spectacular views of the Bitterroot Mountains to the west and the Sapphir Mountains to the east. The gravel sites are spacious and clean. During the day the rabbits that give the RV park its name can be seen nibbling on the the grass around the park. Management of the park is friendly and helpful and check in couldn’t be simpler.

This is my third long term stay at this RV park.

This is an older RV park which has passed through several owners and the facilities show their age and neglect. The restrooms/showers are rundown and poorly maintained. Although they are supposed to be cleaned daily, this just doesn’t happen. As a result they are often dirty. There are insufficient toilets for the number of sites at the park. In the three years I have been visiting this park the broken window in the men’s restroom has not been repaired.

At the north end of the park there are a number of longtime residents. Many of these sites are junky and tacky.

There is cable TV service but unlike at most RV parks here you must pay $2.50 per day for basic cable TV service. There is free wi-fi service. However, at certain times of day getting a connection can be problematic and, when you get it, the signal frequently drops. This is probably due to too many people trying to access the service at the same time. In certain outlying parts of the park it is almost impossible to get a signal. There are no playground facilities for children. Several supermarkets are within a few blocks on Hwy 93.

Since a choice of RV parks in the Hamilton area is limited, Black Rabbit RV Park is the best of the lot. But I think the park priced too high for what you get.

The BBQ was great! Try the ribs. The pool seemed a little over used, but that can happen when you have many people using it, and it’s the middle of summer. We stayed in a 30 ft 5th wheel in one of the deluxe sites. The cable TV reception was a little fuzzy. I just had to hit it with a wrench.

Our site was uneven, but the staff immediately fixed that by bringing me some boards. If i had to rate this campground on a scale of 1-10, I’d give them an 8.

Our stay at Yellowstone Park KOA should have been a great family vacation but it turned into a nightmare. We spent the previous nights at the KOA in Great Falls and had a fine experience but this place is run like a concentration camp.

We were told be quiet BEFORE quiet hours began at 10PM. We were told to put out our small marshmallow campfire without an explanation. We were harassed by the managers and security from the start of the trip. When we voiced our concerns to the owner they responded with insults and threats to forcibly kick us out.

PROS: We were not forced into involuntary slave labor

CONS: Early forced bed times, poor shower pressure, dirty bathroom/showers, over chlorinated pool, rude staff, We were not escorted to out assigned spot (typical KOA protocol), and night fees even with discount card.

If I were to go to West Yellowstone again I would stay at one of the MANY other available campgrounds. If you are a glutton for punishment and do go to this KOA, good luck, and be sure to bring numbers of other campgrounds when you find out how rude they are for yourself!

Their park was immaculate, well laid out, with ample room to maneuver even the largest vehicles. There was well groomed grass at every site, with hard packed gravel to park on. Sites had full hook ups. There was a wonderful creek running through the park, and I saw some pretty nice trout while I was there.

The campground had very well maintained facilities for meetings or the weekly pot lucks. The owners go way out of their way to make your camping experience the most pleasant possible. If there is a problem, its not I will get to it soon, its right now.

Great fishing and guides are available. There is also wonderful food nearby… Sparky’s Garage for prime rib is a good play.
