They have a pool that states it is heated however it is very cold. The playground and any activities are near The front entrance and there are no activities for children or a place for older children to do things either.

They have security which is a plus every Thursday through Saturday from 8pm till 3am. However, they circulate the campground and if you are loud around that campfire you are asked to be more quiet. I get the impression they feel you should be in bed with lights out at 11:00 pm. 

They charge what I consider to be astronomical fees for guests. Your camping money gets you to camp with 2 adults and 3 children (under 18). If you bring children older than 18 with you, an additional $10 per person is charged. If you are a seasonal site holder you have to pay extra for your children or friends also. I think this is riduculous.

On the plus side, the facility is beautiful and the local attractions wonderful.

Treatment and cost to stay there… Not so good. I will not go here again.

All sorts of watercraft are available for rental here… canoes, kayaks, pontoon boats, fishing boats and paddleboats. You can spend the day with the whole family enjoying a canoe or kayak trip, ranging from 2 1/2 to overnite trips. Or you can fish right from the shore or from a boat. Walleye, large and small mouth bass, pike, perch, croupie and trout.

Campers Cove is a great place to spend a few days fishing and just taking it easy. We are planning on returning this summer!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We didn’t care for the site we were assigned (too open, no shade) so we asked for another and were accommodated without a problem. The showers and bathrooms were clean and well maintained as were all the facilities.

I would, without a doubt, stay here again and would recommend it to all my camping friends!

Ponchos has a fishing pond in the middle of the park that is great for young kids. Also the cable TV has a channel with closed circuit TV so you can see the different areas of the park.They have great family activities each weekend. Poncho, Nan and staff are very friendly and worked hard for our family to have an enjoyable experience. It was the nicest park that we have ever been to. Their website is www. poncho.com.

We had the opportunity to stay here for a week recently and had a great time! The campground staff was friendly and helpful. The park grounds are well maintained and interoir roads are paved. Campsites have level gravel pads and full hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables.

The campground has a nice, sandy beach right on Lake Michigamme. The beach has volleyball court, playground, community fire ring, tables, a swimming area, and a boat dock. Away from the beach area there is are tennis and basketball courts. You can rent all sorts of watercraft including canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, motor boats, and pontoon boats.

The facilities are very clean and well maintained. They have a nice camp store that stocks a limited selection of groceries and camping supplies. They also sell ice, firewood (delivered to your site), gifts and souvenirs, bait and tackle and hunting/fishing licenses.

You can enjoy fishing and hunting… Walleye, northern pike, and record size muskie! Fish around remote islands, in deep channels, or quiet coves. Bring your own boat or rent one.

Michigamme Shores makes a great base camp and you can literally walk or take a short drive to some of the best hunting in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

Nearby attractions include beautiful scenery around every turn, the Michigamme Museum, the National Ski Hall of Fame and more! We are planning another trip to Michigamme Shores next month!

We arrived about three days after rain, but the mosquitoes remained active. I am quite allergic to mosquito bites so each evening, I had to change to jeans and long sleeves to reduce my exposure. Even with a strong fire and several citronella candles, we couldn’t rid our campsite of the pesky bugs.

Finally, off to a shopping center I went for a screen room. The final two evenings I enjoyed the campfire and my evening meal with far fewer mosquitoes having their dinner at my expense.

The park is very large. Several lakes offer fisherpersons great hopes. Alas, the week we were there, few people caught fish in the areas we tried. Mostly, we drowned worms and expectations equally. Still, the quiet and the peace of fishing was great.

Interior roads are paved. Campsites are spacious and separated by trees and bushes, the source of all the mosquitoes. The walk to the bath area is quite long, and we used the pit toilet several times just to avoid the long walk. We typically drove to the bath house for showers because of the distance.

Another negative is the small bath house which has fewer showers than needed on a busy weekend. Our loop had about 100 campsites yet only five showers were available for all of us to use. The showers were very good, however, and we had no problems washing.

Once we had the screen room, we were much more comfortable. Camping in a hard wall camper would be enjoyable at this park, but without the hard walls, the screen room was a necessity.

I wish Michigan could spend just a little more on signage to help campers locate their parks. For out of state visitors, the path to a park isn’t always easy to find.

Employees at this park were very friendly and helpful. Give them a high score for making us feel welcome.

The park rates a 5 out of 10. I loved the park, but I hated the mosquitoes.

We rented a golf cart and had a great time over the 4th of July holiday. Their fireworks display was awesome! The property doesn’t have alot of trees yet, unless you stay in the back or along the lake front. Make sure to request a site with trees.

We loved this campground partly because we have a very big rig. It was very easy to get around the property.

The playground for our grandchildren had only 1 swing. There were no sewer hookups… just water (which had a very bad smell) and electric. The 2 ponds made the misquitoes thrive and you could not sit outside. We used 3 cans of Raid misquitoe spray in 1 week just to keep them out of the motorhome.

There was mold around the ceiling of the shower house and in the shower stalls. It looked as if the sink basins had not been cleaned out for the entire week we were there. It was 3 days before someone swept the floor.

I would not recommend this to anyone traveling in the Stockbridge Michigan area.

There are paved streets throughout the campground with level, paved sites, each with a large concrete patio. Individual sites were a little on the small size, none the less comfortable even with our large rig.

The park layout is cozy, especially at night and sites are scattered among shade trees, manicured lawns and tastefully placed landscaping. There’s a beautiful pavillion, snack bar, swimming pool, hot tub, playground and plenty of planned activities (in season). There’s also a no-charge modem dataport so you can keep in touch with family and friends back home.

The staff was friendly and the facilities were clean and well maintained. This is a KOA affiliated campground. We’ve stayed at may KOA’s throughout the country and this is one of the best!
