Not only the owners and staff were so helpful from the moment you call or arrive there they treat you like if you were their own family members.  They have so much to do there and if they see you are not having a good time or a smile on your face they feel like that the’re not doing a good job so they give you a smile of ther own or speand time with you until you do.

I really wish I have a way to show the world and tell everyone I know about this camp ground.  I would give this place ten stars if I could, all I can say is this see it for yourself.

This is a very clean and well maintained campground, with lots of nice landscaping and manicured lawns. Our pull through site had a lot of room. It was easy in and out and we had no problem setting up our 38′, 4-slideout class A.

They have an excellent snack bar with affordable and delicious food… and ice cream sundaes to die for!

We stayed here over the Labor Day Weekend and had a great experience. We will definitely return to Normandy Farms next summer.

Minuteman Campground is conveniently located on MA Route 2A, about 3 miles west of I-495 (exit 30) in Littleton, Massachusetts. The campground entrance is easy to spot. The bright green sign at the entrance (just past the Citgo station) welcomes you up a short drive to the campground office. Check-in was quick and the staff was friendly and accommodating. They also guide you right to your site.

The property is located entirely in a pine and mixed hardwood forest. If you’re looking for a cool respite from the summer’s heat, this is the place. It’s so wooded in fact that you’re sometimes unaware of a sunny day. Interior roads are gravel, somewhat narrow, and wind up and down moderate grades… larger rigs can navigate throughout the campground but it can get a little tight in some places.

This appears to the an older, well established campground. It’s clean, well maintained and most of the sites are comfortably large. There are several full hook-up pull-thru sites for larger rigs. Sites are fairly level, but you will need to work at it a bit when you set up.

I wouldn’t say that the facilities are squeaky clean, but they are more than acceptable. The restrooms and showers are reasonably maintained. Showers are free, and the water is always hot. The campground runs smoothly. While there were quite a few kids when we were there, it was still a quiet, peaceful stay. Pets are also allowed here and their owners were respectful of the rules and of other campers.

Minuteman Campground has a nice little campstore with a good selection of groceries, camping supplies and souvenirs. The store had an impressive selection of free VHS movie rentals with over 400 titles to choose from! There were a few DVD choices as well. If you are looking for some reading material they have free books for the taking or you can leave some you’ve read for other campers. They have a free modem hook-up in the recreation hall and plan on installing Wi-Fi throughout the campground in the future.

Amenities include a good size heated pool, a small children’s playground, paved half-court basketball, volleyball, horseshoe pits, and a rec room that includes 5 or 6 video games. Seasonal sites seem to be few and far between and, unlike most campgrounds we’ve visited, they are hard to spot because they don’t have the typical wood decks, painted stones and twirling windmills. They also have several one and two-room “Kamping Kabins” complete with a comfortable porch swing. Single room kabins sleep 4 while the double room kabins sleep 6. Kabins have both heat and air conditioning.

While we’ve been told that there’s a RV supply store and several fast food restaurants “just down the road”, we only saw one restaurant within walking distance. Also, there is a Dunkin Donuts shop located in a service station near the campground entrance, but that’s about it.

This campground is also a great location to base your exploration of the region. It’s convenient to Boston and Southern New Hampshire. A short drive away you’ll find horseback riding, a large mini golf course, bumper boats and a driving range.

Minuteman Campground is cozy, clean, quiet and reasonably priced. Good Sam and AAA members also get a 10% discount!

The campground is a bit out of the way and the route from Sodom Mountain to the theme park runs through several villages and involves a number of route changes. It took us about 20 minutes to actually get there. Not as close as we had hoped but not a problem.

When we arrived at Sodom Mountain Campground we were a little disappointed. Aesthetically, the park entrance and the grounds were not that appealing. Throughout the property there were areas where maintenance equipment was openly stored, unfinished earthwork and just a general lack of visual appeal. Having maintenance equipment available is understandable but it wouldn’t be that difficult to park a tractor behind a building and out of view.

The interior roads were gravel in fair shape and the sites were of equal quality. Our site was next to another occupied by a family with several noisy kids raised by parents who obviously never taught them manners. They in fact were occupying part of our site and showed no concern for moving once we set up camp. Rather than deal with it we simply picked up and moved to another site. Not a great way to start a weekend.

Sodom Mountain does have a good mix of amenities including a large pool, and plenty to do for kids. Scheduled activities include Texas Bar-B-Qs, clam bakes and pig roasts.

I do think though that if we ever decided to do the camping/theme park thing again, I’d look for another campground… even if it were a bit further away.

Our check-in was quick and the office staff made us feel right at home. We were escorted to our site by a friendly gentleman in a golf cart who asked if we were first time visitors and then reassured us that we would have a great stay.  It turns out he was indeed correct.

Pine Acres is a larger resort. They report 350 sites, all types and sizes. From very remote, primitive tenting sites to full hook-up premium lakefront locations. The Premium Lakefront sites were on the expensive side ($75/night), but since this was our first visit we decided to go for it. Despite the price, we were not disappointed.

Our site was a comfortable size, with adequate room for our multiple slide-out 38′ Class A. The site included an oversized picnic table, complete with a cobblestone patio with a rustic double timber chairs overlooking Lake Dean, a small (70 acre) lake. Most of the heavily traveled interior roads are paved and wide enough for larger rigs. Once you get into some of the more remote locations, access is a tad more difficult via gravel roads(and some can be a little steep)… but if you’re a tenter there are some pretty isolated spots.

The restrooms and laundry facilities were clean and well maintained. In fact, my wife commented that these were among the cleanest that she has ever seen. Over the past 25 years we’ve stayed at campgrounds all around the country… so that’s saying a lot.

There are lots of amenities at this campground. I’ll try to cover most of them here…

A small marina is located near the park entrance and the main office building. The marina includes “Uncle John’s Bait Shop” a boat launch area and boat slips (the fountain is a nice touch!). You can fish for bass from the beach or rent paddle boats, canoes, rowboats and kayaks here.  

Near the center of the campground is a complex of buildings and attractions. The pool… actually its more of a water entertainment area, is impressive. The pool itself is free-form, quite large and includes a spa and several water features that would keep most kids busy for hours. There’s also a poolside bar that’s open during the warmer months.

The complex has a nicely landscaped, reasonably priced ($3) mini-golf course, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts as well as a playground for younger kids. “The Lodge”, is a large recreation hall that includes an adult lounge and “The Cave”, one of the largest video arcade rooms I’ve ever seen at a campground. 

Across from the Lodge is “Pine Acres Country Store” a small, but nicely stocked convenience store carrying all the basic camping necessities. There’s also a 50-seat full-service snack bar serving breakfast, lunch and other goodies including ice cream. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. The same building houses restrooms, showers, a public telephone and an ATM machine. 

The campground offers free Wi-Fi (Tengo). On a walk through the campground found several wi-fi repeaters, so coverage appears to be good. The signal from our site was a little low, but we had no problems connecting. They do have a 48 hour bandwidth limit but the limit is high and should be adequate for even moderate use.

You may be asking, “there must be something negative about this campground?”. Yes there were a few, but relatively minor…

There appears to be just a single dumpster for your trash and it’s located near the entrance to the property. This is a large campground and it’s quite a hike to the dumpster for just about everybody. Adding a second location would be a great idea. 

Pine Acres is pet friendly and the campground owners make every effort to accommodate your pet. They even have a pet beach! Just about every pet owner here was considerate of other campers… except for two. One never kept their dog on a leash, the other couldn’t keep their dog quiet. Its not the fault of the campground. You’ll always find a few inconsiderate campers at every campground.

This is truly a family resort and all in all, one of the most pleasant camping experiences we’ve had in a long time. This one’s a keeper. Keep up the good work Pine Acres! 

The lower numbered campsites are level and open. The upper sites are a little uneven and more primitive even with full hookups. They have a nice dog park with an agility course.

We recommend Boston/Cape Cod KOA and would definitely return to this campground.

We stayed here last fall and had a wonderful time. The owners are helpful and very friendly and made us feel welcomed. There are sites that have a great view of the river that is tide driven plus numerous sites behind the office that are completely wooded and absolutely wonderful.

Each of the 200 sites at this campground are unique. Whether you have an RV and would like a full hookup site with a water view or you have a simple tent and love the shade, this campground has a spot for you. There are six toilet and shower buildings, and a small campsite store stocked with ice and wood.

You are camping in an environmentally sensitive area, close to fragile marshes and estuaries, so there are a number of rules to follow when you’re here. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Each site is level and has a picnic table and a fireplace. They also offer a centrally located Wi-Fi signal and Wi-Fi on big rig spots.

We made reservations 4 months in advance for multiple sites and all the cabins just to be told they rented the cabins to someone else after renting them to us first. What use is it to give a phone number and to make reservations not to have them upheld and not to be notified? We found out that they quoted a higher price to the people to whom they rented the same cabins to that arrived after our arrival date.

This is not a place I would want to use the facilities at they are run down and nasty. Rental agreements, rules and regulations are not something they gave out to me.

On the plus side of this campground the beach is beautiful, which is the first thing you see along with a resturant at the front gate. Non family staff (1 man) is very friendly and helpful with any needs and information.

They have a nice pool, a huge baseball field, shuffle board, horseshoes, a basketball court, a playground for the little ones, and mini golf. A 10pm quiet time strictly enforced.  The campground is only minutes to Salisbury State Beach, Newburyport, Plum Island, Hampton Beach and lots of shopping and restaurants.

Pets are welcomed here too! We’ll be seasonals next year!

Pull into Normandy Farms and the first thing you’ll notice is the architecturally beautiful open beam Welcome/Registration Center. Check in is typically quick and easy but we arrived on a Friday afternoon and it was quite busy. If you prepay for your stay and it’s not your first visit to Normandy Farms, you can use the “Quick Check-In” lane. You are also escorted directly to your site after you check-in.

The property is very nicely landscaped and well maintained. If you’re into horticulture you’ll appreciate the extras they’ve put into the grounds. We noticed many fairly unique specimen trees and shrubs scattered throughout the resort.

The campground is fairly large, with over 400 sites from open and sunny to wooded and include a good selection of sites for big rigs. Most sites have full hook-ups (30/50 amps). A word of caution… we elected for full hookups including cable TV. The sites with these services are extremely small (see the above photo). Unless you really need cable, I suggest you ask for a full hookup without cable. Those sites are much bigger and, since you’re less than 20 miles from Boston, you’ll get more than enough channels to keep you happy.

Only the major interior roads are paved. The rest are gravel, nevertheless well maintained. Sites are gravel, and level. Site sizes vary greatly (see above). WiFi is now free (it was previously an extra charge). The signal level at our site was very strong, however there were several occasions during our stay when we couldn’t connect. When it’s working, WiFi is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends via email.

Normandy Farms is truly a “destination resort”. You can stay here a week or more and never really need to venture out of the park. 3 outdoor pools, jacuzzi, an indoor heated pool, sauna and fitness center are just a few of the perks at this campground. During our stay there was an RV show on the grounds all weekend. The show’s sponsor even included a free pancake and sausage breakfast for all park guests!
