Loading ...We recently returned from Maine after camping at several campgrounds. We switched from our originally booked one that was entirely in the forest and ripe with mosquitoes (Salty Acres near Goose Rocks Beach). We drove around for half a day checking out other campgrounds between Ogunquit and Biddeford and finally decided on Red Apple Campground.
Keenes Lake Family Campground - Calais, ME
(rate this campground) Loading ...We found Keenes Lake Family Campground very dilapitated. The bathrooms were very dirty and the shower stalls were full of mold. We were there for long weekend last July and I felt we wasted our money camping there.
There was nothing for adults to do. No dances, social evening for campers to get to meet other campers, nothing. The buildings are terribly run down. The other campers we talked to said the owners were doing absolutely nothing for campground. We could not even get anything from the Canteen as it was not open.
Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort - Lebanon, ME
(5 visitors have rated this campground.) Loading ...My family has spent some time at Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort. The new owners are awesome! They have done wonders so far. They have upgraded much of the campground and have plans on doing much more! This is a very warm family type campground.

Sagadahoc Bay Campground - Georgetown, ME
(rate this campground) Loading ...We checked into Sagadahoc Bay Campground on August 18th, for a 2 night stay in cabin #210. We ended up leaving after the first night. We were very disappointed in the cabin. The cabin itself was cute inside however, we feel that it was not represented accurately to us when we made our reservation.
First of all, they really only sleep 4 people comfortably, not 6. True, there is a very small loft. However, 2 adults can’t fit up there. 2 children may be able to, but there isn’t a bed of any type, nor would an air mattress even fit up there.
Flat Rock Ridge Family Resort - Lebanon, ME
(rate this campground) Loading ...We recently spent a week at Flat Rock Ridge in Lebanon, Maine. We were very dissappointed with the securty and the owner. I did not consider the facilities to be very clean, and they didn’t seem to care. The pool was dirty and the whirlpool scummy. The pond they call a "beach" was dirty. Stolen bikes seemed to be a common problem up there too.
Sagadahoc Bay Campground - Georgetown, ME
(rate this campground) Loading ...The website for Sagadahoc Bay Campground is less than accurate. We booked an "ocean-side" campsite, which of course is more expensive than the others, only to find we were in a messy wooded area next to a river. The beach is a small plot of dirt dumped next to the river. And the clamming you read about on the website is nonexistant and, of course you need a permit! Upon booking, the owner informed me that each site was "very private" with plenty of woods between sites. We could see the five other campsites surrounding us all within 20 feet.

There was not much to do for the kids. The campsites were very small, and the owners were not very friendly. It was fairly expensive for what little enjoyment we got out of it.
Flat Rock Bridge Campground - Lebanon, ME
(rate this campground) Loading ...We just spent a long weekend at Flat Rock Bridge Campground. (formally known as Kings & Queens Court). This campground was recommended to us by many who were there in the past! We were very disatified. The facilities were dated and not kept up very well. The swimming pools and hot-tubs were very dirty.
Palmyra RV and Golf Resort - Palmyra, ME
(rate this campground) Loading ...Palmyra RV and Golf Resort is a quiet comfortable campground located in central Maine. As the name implies, the campground caters to golfers with an 18-hole course on the grounds. Although I’m not a golfer, we found the campground to be very quiet and pleasant, with a small pool and walking trails. Our site was open, but backed up to a tree line, while many other sites are shaded and quite roomy.
Skowhegan/Canaan KOA - Canaan, ME
(rate this campground) Loading ...This is a nice campground! Very friendly, chatty helpful owners. Skowhegan/Canaan KOA is one of the cleanest campgrounds we have ever been to. Ice and wood are delivered right to your campsite. Since the new owners took over the campground a few years back, there have been many improvements made to the park. This is a great place for kids and adults a lot of fun planned activities!
