The campground is very clean and quiet and it surrounds the Poche Plantation home which made for a one-of-a-kind experience for us. The couple that manages the park lives on-site and were very friendly and helpful, letting us know about the local attractions. The park is located within a short distance of several other plantations and we were able to visit Houmas House and Oak Alley during our stay. Several restaurants are nearby and we would never have found them without their direction and these places would be considered a best-kept secret … the food was fantastic.

This Park offers a large cottage with attached washeteria that was very convenient for us since our 5th wheel does not have a washer/dryer and it also has a reading room inside and a kitchen that campers can use as well. The showers were very nice for a campground. We were lucky to get a campsite at Poche … the camp ground was full when we arrived and apparently serves a lot of the plant workers from time-to-time. We would have stayed at the overflow park down the road from the main park but we ended up arriving as someone else was leaving.

We really enjoyed the tour of the plantation and we were just a short walk from a very old Catholic church. We were told that the Plantation, Church and Cemetery offer a well-known “Graveyard” tour by a local historian and actors during the month of October. We will be back for that. Internet was a little unpredictable but could get access from time-to-time. I recommend reservations …. we never make them and again, this place was full. The office was difficult to find; however, the manager met us at the entrance and helped us park our camper. We also travel with our dog and the levee made for a nice stroll in the mornings with him. We stayed at Poche RV Park in a large 5th wheel.

They have 30 and 50 amp service, w/s, free wifi, spaces around pond, fire rings at all sites, most have concreek pads. Donna the manager and Hank the owner are just as nice as can be. We checked at other places nearby and found most places were worn and needed much maintance, a resort Hideaway was very not people friendly and plane rude, but this camp is also new with very pet friendly, many ducks hear living on property and fish in the pond, across the street is acess to the chanel that takes you to the gulf and if you are looking for gaters just walk across the street.

They are big-rig friendly with 120 long, level, gravel pull-throughs, all with full hook-up (30/50 amp) including cable TV. The sites are comfortably large with enough space for slide-outs. The grounds are very well maintained. Large, mature cypress and other trees dot the property but for the most part it’s open and sunny.

The campground is family-owned and they are on the property 24/7. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Very clean rest rooms too! They have a nice little store on-site with a limited selection of groceries, camping supplies, gifts and souvenirs. Amenities include a pool with waterslide, Jacuzzi spa, a paved tennis court, shuffleboard, volleyball, horseshoes, rec hall, a playground, video arcade and a freshwater fishing pond. They also have free wi-fi.

Bayou Wilderness RV Resort is in a great location… close to shopping and plenty of local attractions including casinos. Great Cajun food everywhere you go. All in all, a nice quiet place to spend a few days and explore the area.

All the amenities are at the main plantation 7 miles away. Payment was cash only. We paid for one month and were only able to stay 18 days. We expected a pro-rate but were told that we may owe more by leaving early.

Ants were everywhere in and out of the RV which we had to take care of. Workers that were building more pads started construction at 6am right beside my RV. My spouse came to the area to work and I do my work on the internet. No internet was available… even with an aircard. Cell phone service was sporatic during day but great after 9pm.

If you stay a couple of days then the main plantation has designated spots for those people. I answered my questions on this review according to the campground I stay at only. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was established in 1999. It began as a 4-site RV Park and has since grown to a 12-site park, offering full hookups. A modem hookup offers RVers the opportunity to communicate with their families and friends while on the road. From the moment you arrive here you get the feeling you’re in for something special. Betty greets you with her unique Southern Hospitality and she’ll go out of her way to make sure your stay is fun and informative. Every afternoon guests get together on her patio, have a drink and get to know each other.

Betty is always around to give you her expert advice on places to go and things to see in the area. And, if you’re lucky, she will make some of her famous Gumbo. We feel like we’ve discovered a hidden gem when we found Betty’s R.V. Park. Will we be back? Try and stop us!

We had stayed there 3-4 times for our chapter meeting and had no prior problems. I would think management would be a little more accommodating to its patrons.

I guess it might be said if its cloudy DON’T Stay at Natalbany Creek Campground.

We camped here in a fifth wheel and would definitely stay again for a one night stop.

The sites have 20,30 & 50 Amp service and all concrete drives and pads with full hookups & satellite tv. This is a kid friendly park with playground, pool & fishing pond. They also provide golf cart rentals and paddle boats. Rentals cabins and propane are also available. We camped there 3 times so far this year and going back again for the long Thanksgiving weekend. Almost forgot, Internet access provided and a new Wal-Mart is near by.
