The property is gated with 24-hour security. The facilities are extremely well maintained. The restrooms are always clean, and the buildings and amenities are in great shape. They have a nice camp store, fishing, boating, volleyball, horseshoe pits, a recreation room, playground, and picnic areas. They also have free wi-fi.

Every one of the campground staff are friendly and eager to please the customers. This is a regular stop for us. We’ve been coming here for years and are already making plans for another visit this fall!

We made reservations for the shade by the pool area but when we showed up it wasn’t available and we were stuck in a “construction zone”. The grass wasn’t fully in yet so we had weeds, gravel roads and bull-dozers running all day about 50 feet from our site. The lawn was also full of dog poop. The dumpsters were mounded overflowing with garbage bags three deep on the sides. Very dirty!

This wasn’t an inexpensive campground, actually it was the most expensive we have stayed at while on our trip. This new area is also right by a major highway and the noise was really bad. The rest of the park isn’t that impressive either. Their “fishing pound” for the kids is nothing more than a habitat for bugs that invade you at night.

Maybe this place will be nice in another decade, but unless they change the operation I don’t think it will last that long. I give this place a very bad rating, and I travel and stay in my RV about 200 nights a year.

The campground has many shade trees throughout the property, but we could still receive our satellite = ). They also have wi-fi at this park free of charge! The staff was nice and very accommodating. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. This is a very quite campground.

Good spacing between sites. The full hookup sites aren’t really in the shade, but have trees behind them, so they get shade in the afternoon. They also have some primitive, water only, and water/electric sites, but I didn’t get to check them out. There are 19 full hookup sites. There is a laundry, but I didn’t get to check it out.

Nice place for an overnite. Wilderness Cafe just down the road a bit, good food.

After you are registered you are personally escorted to your site by a young gentleman on a golf cart who occasionally will be accompanied by the Sugar Bear, the campground mascot! The individual sites are level and many are shady, with large trees throughout the property.

This is a family owned campground and everyone in the family seems to be involved in the operation in one form or another. The campground is very clean and well maintained. They have a nice campstore with a great selection of groceries and camping supplies. There is also a small pool, pavilion and snack bar.

We plan on returning here for our next NASCAR race!

The RV sites have level, concrete paved and full hookups. The main attraction is the fact that the campground is located right next to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari, amusement and water parks, and a short distance from the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, Lincoln State Park, and the Young Abe Lincoln Outdoor Drama.

If you have kids this is a great campground. If you like peace and quiet, look elsewhere. It get’s extremely busy here especially on summer weekends and holidays.

There are tons of activities for kids, a well stocked camp store, and a good mix of amenities including swimming pools, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, a game room, mini golf, paddleboats, and fishing. There is also air conditioned bathhouses, a nice camp store, and a FREE Holiday World shuttle.

This is a great family campground. The kids will love it!

The park is in a nice location in Bean Blossom about 6 miles from the city of Nashville and lots of great shopping. It’s worth a trip to the Nashville Opry while you’re there as well. It seems there’s most always Blue Grass pickin’ going on for free entertainment and a flea market alongside the campgrounds.

I recommend this campground to all my friends and we try to make it a regular stop every summer.

Because the campground is relatively new, landscaping and trees are still very small so there is little shade. The sites toward the bach side of the property are newer and full hook-up. It’s also a lot shadier there. These sites are also quite large, and there is a lot of natural shrubs and bushes between sites so you don’t have a lot of open area for an extra tent or screen house like you do at the older sites.

Interior roads are paved and comfortably wide. Navigating with a large RV is very easy. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are spotless and maintained several times a day! The campground personnel are very friendly and make you feel at home.

This is a quiet park with a limited number of amenities, particularly for kids. There are hiking trails, but other than that, not a lot of other activities. Most campers can be seen riding bikes, casually walking or spending time around the campfire.

Charlestown State Park is a great place to kick back and get away from it all. We recommend this park to all our friends!

The roads are well maintained and they do not have ruts or puddles. Gravel would make an inferior road surface. We have met several older people there that say they have had a site there since the 70?s. All of the people are super friendly at the park. We like the park because it is a perfect gateway to Indiana Amish country to the East and South Bend/Elkhart just to the west. We like to go there in the fall because the Amish produce stands are world class. The tables overflow with fresh vegetables of all kinds this time of year. We also like it because the owner is around a lot and you can see him actively watching over the park. There are a couple of pools, a lake, and a trout stream all on the grounds.
