We rented a golf cart for 10 minutes. They came to the swimming pool and publically took it back from us because we allowed our 4 year old grandson to drive. He sat in his grandpa’s lap and pretended to drive. He is 36″ tall so it is fairly obvious he couldn’t really drive the […]

This is our second year (2006/2007)staying at Lehman’s Lakeside RV Resort. It is a great park to stay. It’s out in the country and easy to get to. The sites are wide, level and grassy and you park on gravel or concrete. Management is friendly and accommodating.
We had to change our arrival date due to […]

I urge all fellow full time RV families and weekenders to stay far away from this RV park. From management to maintenance, the list goes on when describing how incapable this place is of running a campground. Beware of monthly stays where you must change the power into your own name, and who knows when […]

We were disappointed in the whole experience at this Yogi Bear campground in Goodfield, Illinois.
There was one bathroom with 2 stalls and 3 showers for the whole campground, there had to be over 150 sites. The bathrooms were very outdated and dirty. The pool was so tiny for a campground of that size. We could […]

Kamp Komfort RV Park is located in the town of Carlock, near Bloomington and Peoria. The campground is very clean and quiet. There are many features such as an in-ground pool, a large pavilion, a play area for children, a small store and a dog walk area.
This campground has the cleanest restrooms I have ever […]

Hide-A-Way Lakes is a fairly large campground in Yorkville, Illinois. There was a pretty fishing lake, but you could hardly see it for all the rusted-out, junky seasonal campers lined up along the banks. The pull-through camping area we were directed to was basically a field, and we had no fire pit. I could go on, but suffice it to say it was a disappointment.

We’ve always been satisfied with KOA campground quality so, traveling from Cedar Point, Ohio to St. Louis we stopped for an overnight stay at the Casey, Illinois KOA. The campground was conveniently located just a few minutes from I-70 (exit 129).
The Casey KOA is located in a large field dotted with mature shade trees. Interior […]

Many, many years ago, this was a nice quiet place. It sure has changed! As Rockford airport expanded you now hear nothing but airplanes flying above your head. The airport is not even 5 mins. away.
After driving for long 10 hours We finally arrived. Looking for some peace and quiet. How wrong and disappointed we […]

This campground is the best! It is located in Amboy, IL, about 2-1/2 hours west of Chicago. They have an abundance of sites with electric, water and sewer. The sites are very large (twice as large as some other campgrounds we have been to). They are very kid friendly so if you have younger children, this is the place to be. There are 3 pools, jacuzzi’s and two water slides.
