When we arrived through the very narrow entry, (should have been our first clue), she directed us to a space that we were barely able to back into. We left when we learned that she did not have the 50 amp hook up. Our coach sustained damage trying to turn out of the narrow entry. If you have a large cosch, do not go.

In mid-May of this year I decided to take my vacationing brother and his wife from the Midwest there to show them the place.
I made reservations, when asked, I stated yes, I had the same camping unit that their computer shows. When we got there we were turned away because they started to enforce the 30’ rig length restriction. Yes, I knew that years ago they put that restriction in place, I assume because of the economy, but they never enforced it nor were we told of this new enforcement when I made the reservations.

The worse part was the way we were treated. Even though I had spent a lot of money there over the years, I feel we were treated badly. We were asked to wait for the rental manager to see if he could do anything. After a about a half hour he showed up, but he did not seem to care about our predicament.

I imagine if the economy tanks again, I will again receive emails and letters welcoming me back. If you are thinking of buying or renting there… beware.

They serve a BBQ dinner once a week and the food and live music was to die for.  You get great quality for the money. It was just marvelous. The campground was close to whale watching and hiking trails so that was a definite plus. The grounds were beautiful… well groomed and clean.

This lovely resort is good for a short stay or for a winter destination. We enjoy the continuously fresh warm mineral water pools and spas (located in a nice shaded clubhouse setting). We like the seasonal planned activities with excellent weekly entertainment shows and movies, exercise groups, billiard and game rooms, and various sports available; and find the well-attended seasonal on-site Sunday Chapel services to be convenient.

The facility is kept neat and clean. We like the quiet desert setting although it’s not far to shopping and medical. There is a fenced grass “doggie park,” and also gates to take pets out for a walk on the desert. The staff is friendly and helpful. The full hookup 50 amp. RV sites are large.

We recently purchased a vacation home in the park model neighborhood and now store our RV on site, ready for summer traveling. We highly recommend this resort.

Benbow Resort is an awesome park with full amenities and hookups, and best of all, a great 18 hole course attached! They even allowed us to bring a cart to the campsite to load our clubs before play!

The course is hilly which made for some really great views (and some not so great shots!) It is located right on the river, so fishing is an option too. Since we were there in the early Spring the pool and jacuzzi were not operational but looked inviting anyway! They have everything for a great family vacation including meeting halls for large gatherings. They even have a dog washing station comperable to anything in a doggy salon!

Immaculate rest rooms, a small store, a rec hall, video room, etc. etc. We are already making plans to go again in the Fall! A must stop in your travels!

The grounds are beautiful. On this last trip, however, we had a run-in with management that we feel other campers should know about. One of our group was approached by an employee who reprimanded him of speeding. He ordered us off his property and we left. We are an easygoing, quiet group of mostly 60 year-olds, and we have never had anything like this happen before.

I could talk about the trees and beauty of this place, but that doesn’t matter when something like this happens. Also, the bathrooms were not working when we we there, and this was not disclosed to us when we signed in.

We found the space wide enough for our RV (a 26′ Fleetwood Jamboree) and the hookups were easy to use. Restrooms and facilities seemed to be clean enough. The weather was nice and the access to the highway and nearby attractions was well above average.

 I would recommend staying here on a long weekend during the summer.

The staff and maintenance man were extremely helpful and friendly. The amenities were nice. The laundry rooms and restrooms were always clean. The cable and WI-FI worked great too. I will stay here again.

The folks hosting the campground are pleasant and fun to chat with. Now you don`t have to feed quarters into the shower for hot water!  They are free. They have a dog friendly beach so please remember to clean up after your pooch.

I highly recommend this campground for it`s beauty, convenience and excellent customer service. I camped here in a 22 ft. RV.

The trout fishing is great right in the park, with lots of people catching their dinner just a few feet from their RVs. We took a short hike on the trails behind the park, right up onto the Pacific Crest Trail, and found a great viewpoint overlooking Mount Lassen in nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park.

The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. There are lots of cabins too, which looked really cozy, along with RV sites with their own horse stalls so that people can bring their horses along to ride on the trails. It was nice to find a forested campground that had lots of really big sites, with plenty of room for our large RV.

Everything was clean, the Wi-Fi worked well, and we had a great meal in the cafe too. It’s pretty remote here, so having a place to eat, along with a large convenience / camp store was handy. Great place for a peaceful getaway.
