Tom Sawyer’s Missippi River RV Park is located right on the Mississippi River in West Memphis. This is a great place to visit. We stayed here for several days this past August and loved it.

The staff is very helpful and the campground and ficilities were VERY clean. You do not have a cable hook-up but you do not need it because of the view. Just take some bug repellent with you because you will need it after sunset – it is worth it. You can watch the barges on the Mississippi River come and go.

This is a great place to slow down and decompress. We recommend it!

Wanderlust RV Park – Eureka Springs, AR

Wanderlust RV Park is located on the top of a small mountain with great views of the surrounding area. The park is neat, clean and well maintained. The restrooms and showers are spotless! They have very friendly owners and staff.

The campground has 90 full hookup sites, 57 pull-thrus, and 41 sites with 50 amps. They have have two large covered pavillions with picnic tables and grills. Amenities include a nice swimming pool, picnic tables at each site, free coffee, paperback book swap, a bath house and laundry. Pets are welcome and WiFi is available (although I don’t know if you have to pay or if it covers the entire campground.

One nice feature they have is a trolley service to see Eureka Springs. You can ride the trolley all day for only $4.50 for adults and $1.25 for children! Tickets are for sale in the office and the trolly stops right at the campground!

This is agreat place to stay in the fall and one of the nicest campgrounds in the Eureka Springs area.

Hot Springs National Park KOA – Hot Springs, AR

We’ve stayed at many KOA’s throughout the midwest and this one is especially nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we were there last month.

The sites are level on gravel with some pull thoughs for big rigs. It’s nice and shady throughout the park with many large trees. The facilities are neat and clean. The entire property is well maintained.

They have a free shuttle bus to Magic Springs/Crystal Falls Amusement Park (about 1/2 mile from the campground). We stayed at Hot Springs KOA last month and would definitely come back again. I recommend this KOA.

Hot Springs KOA – Hot Springs, AR

Hot Springs KOA has everything the family camper looks for. The park has plenty of large, well shaded campsites. The property and facilities are clean and well maintained.

There are lots of activities for the kids (arranged by the staff). All sites have patios, along with water, electricity (50-amp service), sewer and cable. They also have Kamping Kabins, Kottages and Lodges, meeting facilities, bunkhouse lodging and Kamping Kitchens.

The campground is only two minutes from Magic Springs and Crystal Falls Amusement Park. You can buy discount tickets at the office, then hop the free shuttle to the front gate. The staff also arranges tours of Hot Springs National Park, just two miles away, and of the city.

At the end of the day, relax around the pool, the fishing pond or campfire.

Denton Ferry RV Park – Cotter, AR

This is a beautiful RV park located right on the White River. Great views! Trout fishing right at the campground. The park is quiet, clean and well maintained. Staff was extremely friendly and available most of the time.

The clubhouse/office area is very nice with a small convenience store that stocks a limited amount of groceries and camping supplies. Very nice lounge area too. Facilities were neat and clean. Biking trails, boat rentals, shopping and golf nearby.

This is one of the nicest RV parks we’ve ever stayed. I recommend it to all my friends.

Crowley’s Ridge State Park – Paragould, AR

We rented a site "unseen" at Crowley’s Ridge State Park. For reservations, you pay one night – non refundable! When we got there, the fire ring and picnic table were on the opposite side of the RV door. Also, the electric hookup was on one side of the pad with the water hookup on the other side. Regardless, water hose had to run up under the camper and through the sitting area under the canopy. Very Backwards!The swimming Lake (aka big pond) was quite a distance to walk to. (not a 1/2 mile like the Ranger told me over the phone while making reservations.) Also it doesn’t matter if you rent a site or not, you still have to pay to swim in their lake or sunbath on their beach. (In the brochure, nothing is mentioned about paying for their swimming area.) Our family has been to other campgrounds and never had to pay for swimming.

The facility was pretty clean and updated. The sites were very close and weren’t set up very practical. Trees were in the way of putting your canopy out and the pads weren’t very level. This is not a campground we would make a 2 hour drive to again.

Little Rock North KOA – Little Rock North, AR

This is a really nice KOA campground that people could stay at for awhile. It’s convenient to I-40 (Exit 148), and about ten miles from Little Rock. They have a pool, hot tub and sauna (both inside a clean little house adjacent to the pool), good cable and wifi (2 bucks extra). We got here at noon and most of the sites were already taken. This campground is advertised as being a quarter of a mile from a water park, it’s really more like a three quarter mile. Too far and the street is a bit busy to let young kids walk there. Lots of nice Class A’s and fifth wheels, plus a few Class C’s and one little 20 MPG van (ours).

There are a half-dozen sites right off the pool, which cost about five bucks extra, but have gas grills, wide concrete pads, and nice porch furniture. The rest of the sites are all shaded, too, but these ones are definitely worth the extra money. Great little gift shop inside with a counter of Clinton (library and Presidential years) memorabilia; a nice touch! It’s over 90 degrees as I sit here writing this review outside on the concrete pad, but a breeze and the shade make it a wonderful, and comfortably cool, experience. The owner is a friendly, gregarious, and joking dude. This place is worth visiting, at least overnight. Reserve the good sites, if you call, because they go fast. (People came in after us asking for the last site, which we just took.)

The Ozarks RV Resort – Blue Eye, AR

The Ozarks RV Resort is a beautiful campground with fantastic views of Table Rock Lake. The park is part of the “Outdoor Resorts of America” chain.

The property is very nicely landscaped and well maintained. Campsites are on level concrete pads with picnic tables. Amenities include full hookups for water, sewer, electric, telephone and cable TV, Swimming pool and Whirlpool, 4,000 feet of frontage on Table Rock Lake, an 8-hole, par 3 golf course, Convenience store with snack bar and 24-hour security and on-site staff.

The only shortcoming to Ozarks RV Resort is it’s location… it’s quite a distance from stores, restaurants, service stations, etc. If you are looking for a beautiful campground with all the amenities, but quite a distance from everything else, then Ozaeks RV Resort is just for you!
