Cotillion Gardens RV Park - Felton, CA
This park is older and dated. None of the facilities are handicap accessible. It is not children friendly or large family friendly. Do not plan to stay here if you have more than two children over the age of three that can speak or walk. The owners are older and do not appreciate children playing, laughing or having fun in any way. We stayed here and we were told our children were completely out of control and that EVERY other visitor had requested their money back due to our children’s action till all hours. There were approximately 10 other campers in the park. Not suprising the place next door was full.
There was one dark haired older woman that worked and lived there that seemed to be very confused as to timelines and what children were actually doing and when they were doing it, but she knew it was ours. When asked why she didn’t come to our site when the alleged infractions of their non-posted rules were taking place she was not able to answer. When asked if she could describe either of the two children she had seen jump over the pool’s fence to retrieve a basketball (we didn’t have a basketball) she was not able to, but knew it was one of our children.
Well our family was in bed and asleep at 9:40 PM and not out of the RV till 8:00 AM when they woke. When the camp Nazi’s demanded our departure we figured it was best to leave, as these people are nuts. While packing our two closest neighbors came by and asked if THEY had kept us up the previous night and if that was causing our abrupt departure. When we told them what the people, that shouldn’t be in public service, fictitiously stated they were shocked and said that they noted to each other how well our group had followed the quite time rules. When I asked if they had requested their money back they stated ?no? after they were able to stop laughing. For those that have children try the KOA in Manresa Beach it is very kid friendly.
We would suggest that this is an ideal place for those that want a camping experience devoid of any sound other then their own breath as it passes through their oxygen tent.

we did not have good experiences at this park as well-this was not a child friendly park. The rules were out of hand at times.
We just got back from Cotillion Gardens and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Already booked a full week for next year. It\’s a clean campground…tons of stuff for the family to do. I had NO problems with my kids…and we have 2 boys ages 4-6. There were tons of kids for them to play with…we felt safe while there…they were constantly emptying out the trash cans, cleaning the bathrooms and stocking supplies. I can\’t say anything bad about this place. The people at the front desk/office were very friendly…and I must have adjusted my reservations for next year at least 3x without any disgruntled attitudes.
What I love best about the place is that Santa Cruz is just 10 minutes down the hill…and Felton is only a few minutes up the hill…complete with a Safeway and Starbucks…makes camping/cooking easy on me…the mom!
Just returned from our second and LAST visit to this park, at least while the current managers are there.
Don\’t get me wrong, the park is beautiful and picturesque. Having Henry Cowell State Park right outside the back gate is wonderful. But it doesn\’t make up for the completely inhospitable and rude long-term managers.
If you\’re older than 65 or are bringing kids younger than you, don\’t bother. I\’ve never seen so many \"no\" signs in my life. 14 in the pool area alone! The only one that was missing was, \"No fun allowed\". These folks need to move on…
Cotillion Gardens is a good campground with nice level sites in a great location.
I read with dismay the review by \"Anonomous\" for this campground. I have stayed there several times and have never had a problem.
To start with, I have no idea of the age, but it does not look old or dated.
The roads into and within the site are well maintained. Each site has level gravel parking which is raked after each guest leaves. There is a concrete platform with redwood bench and the standard drum fire ring. The campground backs onto the Henry Cowell State Park with some sites up against the boundry fence.
As for the rules, they are clearly posted at the camp store. I have rarely been there when it was not full and turning people away. I have been reminded about the checkout time, but I can understand that they want to get the site ready for the next guest. They really do rake the gravel, it\’s almost a little to maincured.
I have to admit that the bathroom/shower facilities are probably not the most accessable for the handicapped. However, this is an RV park and most people bring those with them. The Rec room and shop are all ramped.
I have also seen many children there. It\’s actually a great site for kids. Nice easy walks in the state park, a short hike to the Big Tree\’s Railroad just down the road where you ride their narrow gauge train or catch an open train to Santa Cruz.
Most people observe the quiet hour rules and maybe here lies the problem. Possibly a case of mistaken identity? Who knows, I just know that I have never had a problem and I\’m not alone judging by the fact that it\’s full every holiday weekend.
Anyway, check out Cotillion Gardens for yourself.
It has a camp shop, big Rec. room, Pool, half basketball court and I think it\’s in a great location.
Tip: If you pay by check or cash rather than credit card, you get a discount.

our last stay at this campground was not a good one
they would come into your campsite and inspect it whenever they wanted. we were treated rudely. there are a few other choices in campground in the same area try one of them instead.
