Campground Reviews for October, 2008
Nehalem Bay State Park - Nehalem, OR
This is a beautiful state park with lots of trees and great access directly to the beach.
Apparently, reservations are required for the “A” loop (which is the closest to the beach) year round, even if it doesn’t look busy. If you don’t have reservations, the signs specify that you are to proceed to the […]
Mount St. Helens RV Park - Castle Rock, WA
I love the terraces at this park! It’s set on a steep hillside, with a wonderful view of the valley. However, highly recommend you chock your tires as all the sites are “back in” and you don’t want to roll over those steep banks! I have a 31 foot Class C with […]
South Forty Camp Resort - Petersburg, VA
Formerly a KOA, South Forty Camp Resort is located about 1/2 mile east of Virginia Exit 41 on I-95. This is a good place for an overnight stop between Florida and the north country. The pull throughs sites are a little rough but they are away from the regular campground.
They have full hookups (including cable), […]
Frisco Woods Campground - Hatteras Island, NC
What a great family campground! We have gone there two years in row now with all kids in tow and had nothing short of a wonderful time.
Frisco Woods is located on the Pamlico Sound within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The park has mostly wooded, waterfront sites. Facilities include: 20-30-50 Amp electric service, cable TV, […]
Rainbow Springs State Park - Dunnellon, FL
This park is FANTASTIC!!! This is the first tent camping experience I’ve had in Florida and I took a group of 18 other first time campers (ages 7-35). Everyone had a wonderful time. The Rainbow River was very refreshing and the 4 hour tube ride was VERY LONG but fun! If you choose […]
Cactus RV Park - Tucumcari, NM
Cactus RV Park is a nice, clean campground on old highway 66. The Old motel at RV park is on the national register of historic places.
The campground is easy in and easy out to highway 40. They have Wifi to all sites and they are working on cable TV to all sites. The campground owner […]
American Heritage Campground - Olympia, WA
Wow, I feel like I’m in a state park with lots of trees, can’t believe this is a privately owned campground. If you travel with a cat, the cat will be greatly entertained watching all the squirrels running around.
During the off season (Labor Day - Memorial Day), this campground is technically closed (no pool or […]
Salem Farms Campground - Salem, CT
Salem Farms Campground is located in a beautiful countryside setting in rural Salem, Connecticut. The park is family owned and operated and the staff was extremely friendly and made us feel welcomed.
The sites are a comfortable size and each has a 30 amp hookup, water, grey water receptacle for sink and shower, a picnic table […]
Four Paws Kingdom - Rutherfordton, NC
Four Paws Kingdom is a campground that caters to dogs. This is a great concept however, I felt that the owners catered to certain campers at the expence of others… although in my opinionĀ all are overcharged the same.
During our stay the grass needed cutting and the pond seemed to be nothing more than a mudhole. […]
Stoney Creek RV Resort - Osseo, WI
We recently stayed at Stoney Creek RV Resort. The yard of our cabin was being sodded while we were there. Unfortunately, we weren’t notified that this was happen, so endured lots of noise, dust, and lack of privacy for 7-8 hours on our one full day at this campground.
