We live close to Mohican State Park Campground and naturally started camping here when we purchased our camper. What we have discovered as we have ventured out and looked at other campgrounds is that we are spoiled by what we have a Mohican State park. This class A campground has 33 full hookup and 118 water & electric sites.

Bullard is a very nice State Park. They offer clean restrooms, and level blacktop pads with lots of privacy. Lots of large trees throughout the campground too! They have full hook ups with the exception of cable and are in the process of installing 50amp service. The campground has great walking trails and access to a beautiful beach.

We stayed at Gig Harbor RV Park during Thanksgiving 2007. This is the only RV Park in Gig Harbor so they don’t have to do much. We found this converted KOA park dark and dreary. We saw poor drainage on the campsites with the rain when we were there.

Winchester Bay RV Resort is only 2nd to Outdoor Resorts of America, which are 5 star resorts. You’re on an ocean view or a bay view in their beautifully kept grounds. Everything works great.

Turtle Rock RV Park was by far the worst campground we have ever visited. We were in site 94 from December 22nd to December 26th, 2007. The campground looked like something left over from New Orleans after Katrina hit.

As you drive into Turtle Rock RV there are several junked double wide trailers along the entrance. There is an RV storage lot with junked trailers and RV Sales Lot with an old dead GMC right by the office.

I had the pleasure of meeting some of the new staff at Savannah South KOA and they were a sheer delight. Enthusiastic and friendly and extremely willing to help. I heard some poor things from people who had been there in the past, but they recently went under new ownership and apparently things have REALLY turned around!

California

My name is Anne Hughes and I stayed at Kamp Klamath September 1, 2007. This is the most pathetic excuse for an RV park I’ve ever seen. The web site makes the campground look wonderful and that’s why we booked reservations there… but you’d be hard pressed to find anything there that looks like the web site.

If you like camping in a parking lot, Winter Island Park is your place to go! It is in located Salem, Massachusetts, and they charge alot! This was originally a Coast Guard post, and still looks like it, minus the campground atmosphere. When we finally found it, we came to a guard house… then we finally found the office, which is in the back of the armory, the people are nice, but don’t seem to be very knowledgeable! They each say you need to talk to another person to get any answers.

WOW…I’d like to say that Cottonwood Campground was horrible and the hosts were mean and grumpy; but I’d be lying. It’s a great campground with sites for everybody from tents to trucks. We were secluded and comfortably shaded with a sprawling view of the Little Missouri River Valley. Wildlife was a constant presence to be […]
