Campground Reviews for September, 2007
Buttonwood Campground – Mexico, PA
Buttonwood Campground was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We definitely will go back just to see them. The kids had a great time, with the new playground and the GREAT pool. I can’t say enough great things about this campground.
Ponderosa Campground – Cody, WY
Ponderosa Campground (http://www.codyponderosa.com) was a great place to stay. It’s conveniently located near downtown Cody, but was quiet, too. There’s tons of great things to do near the park, including Yellowstone National Park, Buffalo Bill State Park, the Buffalo Bill Dam, Buffalo Bill Museum, hiking, rafting, fishing, and hunting.
Fond-Du-Lac KOA – Fond Du Lac, WI
This summer we stayed at Fond-Du-Lac KOA, in one of the open sites (no trees) nearer to the entrance, across the creek from the office.
We liked the open space (for young kids), and large sites. The pool was nice, medium sized. The jumping pillow was awesome, the one here was huge. I loved it, the teens and my 3 year old did, too. It was more attractive to the kids than the pool. No bug problems either.
Deerwood RV Park – Eugene, OR
This is a beautiful park south of Eugene, Oregon. Lots of trees, good shade, and great landscaping that is well maintained. There are currently 75 RV slots, which can accommodate big rigs. Spaces 1-11, and Spaces 65-75 are near the highway. Although the trees hide the road from view, there is still some road noise if you are in those slots.
Fern Ridge Shores RV Park – Veneta, OR
Fern Ridge Shores RV Park is a small campground located on a lake in Veneta. They have a swimming area, but I wouldn’t swim in it… the water looked too dirty. The manager was a little difficult to deal with. I arrived around noon and I had a reservation. When I checked in, the manager made a big issue about only being able to accept "local" credit cards. I finally offered my VISA (which was NOT "local") and the manager indicated they could take that.
