Campground Reviews for August, 2007
Butte KOA - Butte, MT
We could not believe the condition of this campground… The advertisements on the internet showed a beautiful park. In fact, it is run down and dirty with old, long term mobile home trailers all around. In my opinion it is nothing like it described on the KOA web site.
Cole’s Evergreen Marina - Stigler, OK
Cole’s Evergreen Marina is a marina that advertises that they have RV camping space. They do… kind of. They have 18 spaces, almost all back in only. Not all spaces have their own hookups. The roadway is so narrow that it is a challenge to get into the space. The shower facilities not acceptable. They were not cleaned for sure between Friday afternoon and Monday morning. There is no walking path to the bath house.
Heritage Park Resort - Warsaw, VA
Heritage Park Resort is more of a winery then a campground. They have a nice pool and the fishing is not too bad in the river but they have nothing else including campers. We stayed the first week in August and there was no other campers during the week. The basketball court is in the middle of a overgrown field, and it looked like the tennis courts have been overgrown with trees and weeds for years.
Winchester Bay RV Resort - Winchester Bay, OR
Winchester Bay RV Resort at Salmon Harbor Marina is a great park - right on the ocean front. The prices were very reasonable to be in such a great location. The park had very friendly staff and the campground was very clean. It is a great place to go crabbing and fishing.
Lake Aire RV Park & Campground - Charleston, SC
Lake Aire RV Park & Campground was a beautiful park just south of downtown Charleston, SC. Our kids really enjoyed the playground and pool. We enjoyed a nice quiet night by the campfire. I understand the owners are continually working to improve the park. The park also had FREE Wireless.
We will be returning. We have […]
Wild Duck Campground - Scarborough, ME
Wild Duck is an Adult-only campground (not even any visitors under 21 allowed) beside the Scarborough Marsh. The park is very quiet and clean, with a helpful staff. It is near Old Orchard Beach and some great seafood restaurants.
Fallon RV Park - Fallon, NV
This park was recently purchased by new owners. The store was remodeled a bit and is nice. The park however is not. Most of the trees are dead and in need of trimming. The water pressure is quite low most of the time and tastes and smells bad. The septic system plugs up regularly and the sewage leaks to the surface and smells bad. The concrete roadways are broken and have chunks falling out of them. Many of the concrete pads are cracked and not level.
Pomona RV Park - Galloway, NJ
Pomona RV Park is a nice place, at a good price ($37 a night), with excellent WiFi and very deep cable selection, and mostly shaded sites with cement pads that keep the sand and dirt outside. Apparently, new owners took over in January of this year (2007) and have been pretty busy since then, upgrading and repairing the place.
Southside RV Park - Dillon, MT
We came across Southside RV Park by the highway signs. We stayed 3 days in our 5th wheel. We met a lot of nice people and went to the pot luck… we were too tired to go to the bingo game afterwards. Our dog appreciated the green grass at our site. This campground is very well maintained.
Virginia City RV Park - Virginia City, MT
We stayed at Virginia City RV Park in July 2007 in our pop-up with our five children, ages 5 - 15.
This was the worst RV park we’ve ever visited. The beautiful green grass on their web site turned out to be dead weeds. There was no shade, and the picnic tables were falling to pieces.
