Campground Reviews for July, 2007
River Ranch - Red River, NM
River Ranch in general is a nice place. The Red River runs through the middle of the park and camp sites are available along the river bank. The river looks clear and clean. Nice clean bath houses too. But the park is run like a German WW2 internment camp. Guards were always asking what I’m doing there, even just after taking my money for a weeks worth of payment. I felt I was harassed by the owner for walking through park one morning. He wanted to know why I was walking through (I paid for a week. That’s 7 days).
Holly Lake Campground - Millsboro, DE
Oh My Gosh! I would not recommend Holly Lake Campground to anyone! Very large campground, the website says a 4000 square foot pool, NOT! There’s no parking at the pool. They put us in the sticks in the back part where the seasonal sites are and I felt like I was in a condemned trailer park!
RV World Campground - Rawlins, WY
RV World Campground is clean and well-maintained and Dale & Veida (the owners) couldn’t be nicer! They really made us feel at home, and gave us great advice about all of the things to do here. We never knew that the Rawlins, WY area was so interesting! We ended up staying 5 nights in order to fit in everything we wanted to do!
Indian Campground - Buffalo, MT
Indian Campground is located right off I-90 on US 16. This great park has places for any sized rig. Full hookups and free wi-fi. They have a very friendly staff and super nice bathrooms. Level gravel sites. Two restaurants adjoin the park. Good store and supplies. 24 hour laundry.
Rustic Wagon RV Campground - West Yellowstone, MT
Rustic Wagon is a great small RV park with longtime owners on site. Everyone here is very friendly. The campground id located on US Route 20 at the west end of town.
The campground has pull thrus, back ins and full hookups. There’s lots of shade here. They even will arrange a guided tour of the park which we did and loved it!
Allentown-Lehigh Valley KOA - New Tripoli, PA
Allentown-Lehigh Valley KOA like a motel with guests on wheels!
I was working a project in Allentown, and decided to stay at this campground for 6 nights. I was surprised at the Zero Alcohol policy, but it’s a thought. Here’s my experience…
Lake Barkley RV Resort - Eddyville, KY
Lake Barkley RV Resort is an excellent park! I highly recommend it and will return. It is recently under new ownership and the new owners are very friendly and are planning to make changes to make this more of a family oriented resort.
Kieslers Campground & RV Resort - Waseca, MN
I’ve been going to Kieslers RV Resort for over 6 years in a row. I think that they take care of it very well. One time we forgot ice so it was easy to just run up to the store and get some at a low price.
They have great activities for everyone to participate in and a pool with two welcoming water slides. They are also pet friendly and I’m able to bring my two dogs with when I go there. I always meet new people.
Cactus RV Park - Tucumcari, NM
We checked into the Cactus RV Park in Tucumcari, NM this afternoon (7/16/07) for a one night layover on our way from Connecticut to Arizona and we were very favorably impressed!
The host who met us and assisted us to our location was very pleasant and helpful and the facility was very clean and well maintained.
Silver Lake Resort - June Lake, CA
We have been RVing for years and have never had a more horrible experience than we had here at Silver Lake Resort. The staff was rude. We came in late 10:15 PM, I had called ahead to see if that was a problem and had been told no. The man that came to talk to my husband asked "if we could read" the sign. While we both can read, his approach could have been better. They told us to get out of there we were waking everyone up. We slept in a overflow lot that night.
