Enchanted Oaks RV Park is a very new campground. They are trying to preserve the natural beauty of the large live oaks on the property. The campsites are spacious and shady with concrete pads and patios. They are big rig accessible and have 50A service, septic, and very good well water.

The owners are very attuned to your needs, and will let you landscape your lots, etc. There is a new recreation hall with laundromat and full bathrooms ready now, and the kitchen and restaurant will be completed shortly.

Our family has stayed at Smithwoods RV Park many times over the past 25 years. This last visit presented our family of 2 adults and 2 teenage children with some very interesting challenges but were resolved beyond our satisfaction.

When the kids were younger the swimming pool and playground provided hours of entertainment. Now that they are older the challenge is finding safe and exciting things for them to do. The new management (as of 12/31/06) not only gave us directions to bowling, hiking & a great local skateboarding park they also pointed out fun community activities happening during our stay! In addition they asked our children for advice on how they could bring more fun to the teenage guests!

Fiesta Key KOA – Long Key, FL

Fiesta Key KOA is located at MM 70 and long-rumored to be sold for condo development. We returned here for one night on the way home from Key West (we stayed here for a week last year before Christmas), and while scenic, this is a campground whose transitional status makes it an unpleasant place to camp, with some caveats.

They’re not booking or people aren’t coming, so there’s a lot of open sites and open space now. Plus the camp store has closed and moved to the smaller marina store, where 50 percent off clearance sales make some items very affordable.
