Campground Reviews for January, 2007
Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort - Lebanon, ME
My family has spent some time at Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort. The new owners are awesome! They have done wonders so far. They have upgraded much of the campground and have plans on doing much more! This is a very warm family type campground.
This campground has many things for the kids to do. My […]
RV Ranch - Burleson, TX
The RV Ranch is a beautiful park, just on the south side of Fort Worth, in Burleson, Texas. We really enjoyed staying there.
Our site was in the section that was just completed with a new Patent Pending design they call V-pod Lot design. We loved it. They have a description and pictures of the design on their website at www.rv-ranch.com. There are two large pools, two recreation buildings and they had two others under construction. All the recreation buildings had 6 large and private bathrooms along with laundry facilities. They were spotless.
High Rock Lake Marina and Campground - Lexington, NC
High Rock Lake Marina and Campground is a great family campground. The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. They also provide FREE cable and wireless internet! The park offers a pool, boat ramp, boat rentals, and a snack bar… you need it they got it!
We spend our entire vacation there every year! […]
Pine View Campground - Fort McCoy, WI
Pine View is a nice campground with pretty good fishing early in the summer. The park has all the usual services and a sandy beach. The biggest problem is about 5 times a day they play bugles over a loud speaker system… this starts about 5:30 a.m. and the last one is at 10:30 or […]
Enchanted Oaks RV Park - Rockport, TX
Enchanted Oaks RV Park is a very new campground. They are trying to preserve the natural beauty of the large live oaks on the property. The campsites are spacious and shady with concrete pads and patios. They are big rig accessible and have 50A service, septic, and very good well water.
The owners are very attuned to your needs, and will let you landscape your lots, etc. There is a new recreation hall with laundromat and full bathrooms ready now, and the kitchen and restaurant will be completed shortly.
Smithwoods RV Park - Felton, CA
Our family has stayed at Smithwoods RV Park many times over the past 25 years. This last visit presented our family of 2 adults and 2 teenage children with some very interesting challenges but were resolved beyond our satisfaction.
When the kids were younger the swimming pool and playground provided hours of entertainment. Now that they are older the challenge is finding safe and exciting things for them to do. The new management (as of 12/31/06) not only gave us directions to bowling, hiking & a great local skateboarding park they also pointed out fun community activities happening during our stay! In addition they asked our children for advice on how they could bring more fun to the teenage guests!
Fiesta Key KOA - Long Key, FL
Fiesta Key KOA is located at MM 70 and long-rumored to be sold for condo development. We returned here for one night on the way home from Key West (we stayed here for a week last year before Christmas), and while scenic, this is a campground whose transitional status makes it an unpleasant place to camp, with some caveats.
They’re not booking or people aren’t coming, so there’s a lot of open sites and open space now. Plus the camp store has closed and moved to the smaller marina store, where 50 percent off clearance sales make some items very affordable.
